Alolan Raichu surfs on the electrified terrain, blitzing past even the fastest Choice Scarf users in Greninja and Meowscarada, and Swift Swim and Sand Rush users in Mega Swampert and Excadrill which threaten to overwhelm Electric teams. Nasty Plot provides Alolan Raichu with the much-needed boost to OHKO Gliscor, Sinistcha, and Iron Hands at +2 with Shattered Psyche. Psyshock is preferred using Life Orb, as it dispatches of special walls like Clodsire and Galarian Slowking after minimal chip. Life Orb also lets Alolan Raichu OHKO Alolan Muk and Rotom-W with Rising Voltage at +2. Grass Knot and Focus Blast heavily damages Pokemon that scoffs at its Electric- or Psychic-type moves like Mega Swampert, Iron Treads and Hydreigon, respectively. It is to be noted that Alolan Raichu requires a Life Orb to have a shot at OHKOing Hydreigon, and will not have space for Nasty Plot though. Normalium Z with Hyper Beam may be considered, as it pummels through targets Grass Knot covers on top of heavily damaging Mega Latias which typically overwhelm Electric teams. Tapu Koko is a mandatory team mate for Alolan Raichu, as it sets Electric terrain, deals with Dragon-types like Mega Altaria and Roaring Moon, and pressures Flying and Water teams extremely well due to its wide coverage. Physical Attackers like Zeraora and Iron Hands help against special walls like Ting-Lu, Blissey, and Hisuian Goodra that Alolan Raichu struggles against. Ground immune team mates like Zapdos and Rotom-W are appreciated, as these not only swap in against speedy threats like Sand Rush Excadrill or Choice Scarf Iron Treads when Electric Terrain ends but also deals with Grass- and Ground-types like Celebi and Great Tusk, respectively.
