The ability Drizzle and access to U-turn allow Pelipper to be the best rain setter in the tier, thus a staple on rain teams. 0 Speed IVs and a Relaxed nature allow Pelipper to pivot teammates in safely with the slowest possible U-turn.. Its decent physical bulk alongside Scald lets Pelipper check and threaten to cripple popular offensive presences like Urshifu-R and Mega Lopunny, as well as Stealth Rock setters like Landorus-T and Heatran. Roost keeps Pelipper healthy throughout the course of the game, enabling consistent rain and better longevity against threats such as Urshifu-R. Hurricane can be used to hit foes such as Urshifu-R, Tera Grass Heatran, and most notably, Ogerpon-W, for super effective damage, while Defog is an alternative that removes entry hazards if common partners in Tornadus-T or Zapdos lack it. Tera Ground is used to change Pelipper's 4x weakness to Electric into an immunity to potentially absorb Volt Switch from Tapu Koko or Rotom-W and pivot out. Pokemon that need rain to boost their strength and Speed such as Mega Swampert, Barrsekwda, Battle Bond Greninja, and Urshifu-R are great partners for Pelipper. They particularly appreciate Pelipper being able to bring them onto the field safely and often into a winning position via a slow U-turn. Mega Swampert also serves as a bulky Electric-immune Pokemon that can check Tapu Koko for Pelipper. Other pokemons like Zapdos and Tornadus-T also benefit from the rain Pelipper sets up and can act both as excellent wallbreakers or entry hazard removers. Furthermore, Ferrothorn and Archaludon can take advantage of Pelipper's typing defensively, with the latter's signature move in Electro Shot pairing especially well with rain.

The ability Drizzle and access to U-turn allows Pelipper to be the best rain setter in the tier, thus a staple on rain teams. With 0 Spe IVs and a Relaxed nature, the slowest possible U-turn can pivot Pelipper's teammates safely onto the field most of the time. Its decent physical bulk alongside Scald lets Pelipper check and threaten to cripple popular offensive presence like Urshifu-R and Mega Lopunny, Loppuny-mega, as well as Stealthy Rock setters like Landorus-T and Hippodown. heatran is probs a better mention, i have not seen a single soul use hippo rn Roost keeps Pelipper healthy throughout the course of the game, enabling consistent rain and better longevity against threats such as Urshifu-R. Hurricane can be used to hit foes such as Urshifu-R, Medicham-Mega unless you're like button torn i dont see a case where this is happening (should really be going into a breaker in that case to not risk zen flinch) and most notably, Ogerpon-W for super effective damage, while Defog is an alternative choice to remove the entry hazards. mention fog should be used if smth like torn isnt running it Tera Ground is used to change its 4x weakness qudra-weakness to Electric moves into an immunity and potentially absorb a Volt Switch, from? then pivot out. Damp Rock extends the duration of the rain Pelipper provides, so its teammates can make use of the weather fully. Pokemons that need rain to boost their power level and occasionally speed such as Swampert-Mega, Barrsekwda, Battle Bond Greninja and Urshifu-R are great partners of Pelipper. elaborate on peli bringing them in w slow pivots too Swampert-Mega also serves as a bulky electric immunity that can check Tapu-Koko for Pelipper. Other pokemons like Zapdos and Tornadus-T also appreciates the rain Pelipper sets up and can act both as excellent offensive breakers or entry hazard removal supporters. Furthermore, Ferrothorn and Archaludon can take advantage of Pelipper's typing defensively, whereas the latter one's signature move Electro Shot pairs especially well with rain.
