Rabsca Gravity Sand

Long has it slumbered in the faraway ZU tier... Rabsca is here.
Now you may be wondering, why would you use this (literal) piece of shit? Let me tell you...
Sand's worst enemy has always been the dreaded Flying/Steel type (
(
*)). These two (three*) completely wall Excadrill, but with the help of Gravity, it can easily overcome these threats. As I was looking through the Pokemon with access to Gravity, a few stood out. Garganacl gets a Sp. Def boost from the sand, while Hatterene and Clefable are great fairy types that often have an open move slot. But none struck me as a good fit for this team, until I scrolled down all the way to the ZU tier. Rabsca not only can set up Gravity for Excadrill, but it can use Revival Blessing to bring Excadrill back, essentially giving it two breaking opportunities, which are only bolstered by Gravity's presence.
Now, let's get into the team.
Rabsca
Rabsca @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Synchronize
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Gravity
- Revival Blessing
- Memento
- Psychic Noise
Rabsca is a nice check to Great Tusk and Zamazenta despite this being a specially defensive set. Its 4x resist to fighting along with Psychic Noise help to beat Iron Defense variants of Zamazenta, which otherwise outspeed Iron Valiant and wall Excadrill. Paired with Landorus to get Intimidates off and double into it, Rabsca has a lot of situations where it can get off a Gravity or Revival Blessing due to its high special bulk allowing it to not be 2hko'd by many special attackers. It also has Memento to get off an emergency pivot to Excadrill or another mon. Being faster than Slowking means you'll also be able to get Revival Blessings off pretty freely on it.
Tyranitar
Tyranitar @ Smooth Rock
Ability: Sand Stream
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Def / 24 SpA / 216 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Wave
This is just the Smogon set for TTar with Stone Edge over rocks. Gets the job done. It's really bulky so you'll be able to switch in multiple times to get your sand up in most games. Ice beam to hit Lando, Gliscor, and Tusk, and enough Defense EVs to live a Headlong Rush from a speed booster Tusk.
Excadrill
Excadrill @ Soft Sand
Ability: Sand Rush
Tera Type: Ice
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Tera Blast
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
Excadrill will be your main sweeper on this team. Tera Blast Ice along with Earthquake gives Excadrill almost perfect coverage outside of mons like Skarmory, Corviknight, and Moltres, which can be neutralized with Gravity. Soft Sand makes its EQ extremely powerful, giving it a strong option into neutral targets like Primarina. Be careful with your Tera Blast Ice usage around Raging Bolt though, since if Landorus is dead, you'll need Excadrill to be immune to Thunderclap. So just be careful not to use your Tera unwisely. But an important note is that if you revive Excadrill after you already Tera'd, it will go back to its regular typing. This gives you leeway to Tera Ice early to take out a threat like Gliscor or Landorus to set up for a sweep later even if they have a Raging Bolt. Tera Ice is particularly useful against Dragonite, since they typically won't try to E-speed while you're a steel type, which lets you Tera Blast Ice them for free.
Landorus
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spe
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Sandsear Storm
- U-turn
- Gravity
Landorus is an important part of this team since it is another Gravity mon, particularly one that can set it up for itself or pivot out with U-turn. It's the glue mon of this team, being a soft check or full check to a lot of physical mons like Zamazenta, Kingambit, Roaring Moon, etc. Sandsear Storm is also a cool tech since it is 100% accurate under Gravity, and its burn chance is very helpful in a pinch.
Iron Valiant
Iron Valiant @ Choice Specs
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Focus Blast
- Moonblast
- Shadow Ball/Psyshock
- Vacuum Wave
This set is the main reason I wanted to make a Gravity team in the first place. Specs Focus blast just hits so hard, and Gravity makes it 100% accurate. So if you're able to get Gravity up in the right situation, Focus Blast can do some major damage. It's particularly useful against teams that use Blissey as their special wall, since it has a 99.6% chance to 2hko 4 HP/252+ Sp Def. Blissey. Vacuum Wave is also a nice tool to have as it gives the team a strong priority option to take out sweepers like Roaring Moon, Weavile, and Darkrai if they get out of hand. Moonblast is also necessary, and for the last slot I went with Shadow Ball, but you could go with Psyshock as well. Shadow Ball is overall better I feel since Slowking-G is more common than Clodsire, which are your biggest checks, but either works.
Kingambit
Kingambit @ Leftovers
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Low Kick
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
Lastly we have Kingambit. I'm partial to using a Low Kick set on this team since the team otherwise doesn't have many switch-ins to Gambit. Leftovers are also extremely useful since with sand chip, your opponent can't stall out your Sucker Punches at low percents. Meanwhile, if your opponent does try to go for Sucker Punch mind games, you are constantly gaining HP while your opponent is losing it.
Threats

Ogerpon is probably the biggest threat to the team. You have no real switch-in since Landorus is supposed to be your blanket physical check, but it's weak to it. Instead, you'll have to offensively answer it. You might need to take the initiative and lead Valiant and click Moonblast. Another common way I've dealt with it is to hit it with Tera Blast Ice. This is a 2hko, and you can click EQ afterwards if you predict the Tera. And if you get a high enough roll with Tera Blast, EQ has a good shot at killing even if they don't Tera.

Rillaboom can be extremely scary for the team since Grassy Glide eats up the majority of it. You'll have to keep your Landorus healthy to get Intimidates, Rocky Helmet chip, and Wood Hammer chip on Rillaboom to keep it in check. Then hopefully Iron Valiant can take it out with a Vacuum Wave, which does 36-43% to no bulk investment.
