A quick note before I start this RMT: This team will be used on Showdown, but it will mainly be used for playing my friends in-game.

3000 YEARS (Florges) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flower Veil
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Wish
- Aromatherapy
- Protect
- Moonblast

Florges is a great Cleric, and has been doing wonders for me. However, I may end up throwing EV's into Defense due to the fact that she is very frail defensively. Really works well passing wishes to Aegislash and Quagsire. Without her any status condition thrown on Quagsire spells doom for him. Protect is there to take add a little HP from leftovers and to survive the durations of a wish. Moonblast as the main attack, and the possibility to lower the opponents special attack. Florges has a monstrous Special Defense, and works really well. Also is my main answer to Rotom, who was killing my team before I put her on it.

Derp (Quagsire) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Recover
- Stockpile
- Toxic
- Scald

My main wall, he tanks hits like no other, and with the lack of people using grass in this meta-game he is a monster. Three stockpiles, and nothing can take this monster down. He stops threats like Mega-Mawile, Mega-Kangaskan and Mega-Blaziken in their tracks. Unaware is an amazing ability this generation. He is a great wall, but suffers from really mediocre stats. However, I've tried to build my team in order to keep him alive. Florges saves him from deadly special attacks, and Aegislash can switch in on the unwanted Toxic or Poison move. Overall with the other Pokemon on my team Quagsire can become quite the threat. He is also my main answer to Talonflame, as letting him go unchecked results in a brave bird sweep.

Lucario @ Lucarionite
Ability: Justified / Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Crunch (Ice Punch once Pokebank comes around)

My mega, he provides strong Physical support and gives me more coverage. I've got Quagsire and Florges to take the hits that he doesn't like, and to switch into when he doesn't want to take a hit. I'm really glad I swapped him for Heracross and he has been doing way more damage to teams overall. Crunch scares away the Ghosts that try to threaten me. I'll be really glad once Pokebank kicks in, as I can toss on Ice Punch and get another one up on dragons, and those nasty grass Pokemon which make Quagsire shudder.

Way to Dawn (Aegislash) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Brave Nature
- Shadow Sneak
- Sacred Sword
- King's Shield
- Swords Dance

What can I say? Aegislash is a monster this gen. One or two Sword Dances and you're looking to put a dent in the opponents team with the right predictions. I'm not too worried about EQ as a threat to him due to the fact that Hydreigon covers that for him. He can also switch in on the Poison moves that Quagsire and Florges don't want to take. Most of the time this grants me at least one sword dance and a kill. His Defenses are also high enough to take almost any attack thrown his way. Definitely one of the reasons that my team thrives.

hydreigon.gif

Erebus (Hydreigon) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Surf

My main Special Attacker, Fire Blast chosen over Focus Miss due to the fact that Sacred Sword on Aegislash already give a Fighting move. Currently working on his set, with U-Turn as a possibility, and maybe even some Bulk and Roost. Works really well with Aegislash and can take EQ's, and other things that hit him hard. Definitely another one of the members who prevent me from being easily swept. The other thing I love about him is that I've seen him take a +4 Sucker Punch from Mega-Mawile and almost kills with Flamethrower. Whenever a threat to him comes out I typically switch to Aegislash to take it, from Ice, Dragon, Fighting, to those pesky Fairy moves.

talonflame.gif

Phoenix (Talonflame) (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Gale Wings
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Steel Wing
- Flare Blitz
- Swords Dance

One of the new gods this generation. Everywhere I go I see a team with this dude on them. The priority BB's are hard hitting and out-speed almost everything. However, I just don't feel that he has great synergy with this team, and it may be his time to go. He takes out non-bulky Special & Physical sweepers with his priority. Usually anyone with a sash, or bulk for that matter, can take him down with an easy revenge kill, and stealth rocks instantly obliterate him. I definitely need to consider switching him for someone with either more bulk or another Pokemon that has crazy priority with a hard hitting STAB move.

The overall breakdown:

As for cores, I'm using Florges and Quagsire in conjunction to keep each other alive, which has been working really well, throw Aegislash into the mix, and he takes steel and poison hits for Florges (Quagsire doesn't always want to take a Sludge Bomb/Wave or Poison Jab). On top of that Aegislash and Hydreigon work like a CHARM together. It's amazing, no Air Balloon necessary folks.

Talonflame is really just tossed in there, I'll pretty much take any advice that I can get for these two guys. I really want to keep my synergy and work off this team.

Also curious about ditching the Scarf on Hydregion, he will slow down, but he is made to switch in when Aegislash is in a rough spot. Maybe Roost/Draco/Flamethrower/Surf with a life orb?

Well, I believe that sets everything in order. It's been awhile since I've done competitive battling, and I really want to get back into it with a solid team! Thanks to all who help!

Not really seeing the perks of a Jolly Aegislash, you're not outspeeding much. I like to run my Aegislash like so:
Aegislash @ Sitrus/Lum Berry
Ability: Stance Change
Shiny: I wish XD
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Def
IVs: 0 Speed
Quiet Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Flash Cannon
- Iron Defense
- King's Shield
I run my Special Aegislash set because it's not really expected often, and I feel that there aren't too many OP SpAttackers in the meta right now. I'm not worried about setting up because Slash has monstrous SpAttack and 2 powerful STAB moves. I do, however, like to set up the Defense with some Iron Defense. I carry Klefki with me at all times, so I usually just mess with all the other team's Special Attackers switch in something to revenge kill them, then I leave my Slash to all the Physical Attackers. It seems like your Quagsire could work like Klefki in this situation, I might just have to breed myself one because I love Quagsire. I realize you'd have to breed a whole new Honedge, but I did too, and it was so worth it. Otherwise your team looks fine, I just thought I would add in that Special Slash because I myself never seem to have a problem with Hydreigon.

That was totally my mistake, I actually am running a Brave Aegislash, so I fixed it. I've been looking at Special Aegislash for awhile, and I think it may be time to make the change to it, I'm just worried that I may be getting too many Special Pokemon on my team.

I'm pretty new here, so I'm actually not sure how to quote what you said, but I'm glad you're running a Brave set, I think that's a lot better. The only reason I would advise you to switch to special is because you really only have one special sweeper on your team. You have both a Defensive and Special wall, which is nice, but both of them use Special attacks. If anything I would switch Scald to Waterfall, since Quag has 20 points more base attack, but you're probably trying for the burn, which is better. Anyway, that was just my input, and either way you run him, Aegislash is a monster.

Thanks, and yeah, he is there to cripple any physical attacker that gets in his way. Since he is so slow he needs to find a way to cripple his opponent fast. Toxic is the main thing that I'm focused on getting off with him if it isn't a Physical attacker. And Aegislash is a monster he got such good typing.

Honestly, the two defensive core seems great, just as long as it doesn't fall out too hard. But it seems like you have a natural cover for that. I am here to help you with the two problems you seem to have on your team: Heracross not filling well as a fighting type and Talonflame falling out for you.

Honestly, I'd say go all for Lucario. With it's Mega this Gen and of course having a beautiful coverage. Plus, you have the defenses to cover him, as his only threat this Gen in my own opinion has to be Talonflame. If you are wondering for a set to use with this guy, this is what I generally use:

448-mega.png

Lucario @ Lucarionite
Ability: Justified / Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Ice Punch

This one practically has everything you need. Two strong coverage moves with Adaptability is ridiculously powerful, and Ice Punch covers about everything else that could give you major problems. This thing has swept many teams before me with Swords Dance, and with the fact it just helps the great Attack Lucario has, you can even OHK a Psychic Type with Close Combat. A great Pokemon, and I suggest it to anyone. Heck, it's even a great Mega Kangaskhan counter haha.

Now, moving onto your Talonflame problem. Tf is a great Pokemon overall, and will probably take an OU spot as the Flying Attacker along with Dragonite. Speaking of Dragonite, he would be the only other Pokemon that could replace it and still work fine for what you need. This is a personal preference once again, but here is a Dragonite set I run, which is popular now:

Dragonite @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Punch
- ExtremeSpeed

Ah Dragonite, still holding up to your tier of OU. Anyways, with Multiscale, Weakness Policy on Dragonite is the best idea I have ever seen. This set allows me to get a speed boost and + 2.5x Attack makes it a very deadly Pokemon very quick. I run max Attack because my main thing is taking out opponent's. I got for OHK's, especially if I have to get it since it's scarved or is faster than me in general. This is a personal set that I like, but everybody has different preferences.

Honestly, you could keep the same Pokemon, the team looks fine to me. Talonflame should run some Leftovers though instead of Life Orb, recoil damage + that builds up to kill you really fast, almost as fast as the opponent. I really do like the team though, and the way you run it is creatively. Good luck with it!

maybe you should put a defog up there somewhere
inb4 people start treating Defog like it's a god-like move.

without rapid spin/defog (defog is better for this team, since none actually setting up), it could be dangerous. Because with a single SR up, tallon is pretty much dead. It's a good idea to replace it and luke together.
