Ho-Oh @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sacred Fire
- Brave Bird
- Earthquake
- Dual Wingbeat / Flare Blitz

Equipped with a Choice Scarf, the Rainbow Pokemon shines as one of Uber's more niche, yet effective, revenge killers thanks to its great offensive typing allowing it to target threats such as Koraidon and Zacian-C, incredible natural bulk, and amazing ability in Regenerator allowing it to soft check threats like Koraidon and opposing Ho-Oh! Earthquake is valuable coverage, allowing Ho-Oh to hit Pokemon that its STAB moves otherwise would not hit such as Eternatus, Tyranitar, and Glimmora. The final moveslot is not often used, but Dual Wingbeat allows Ho-Oh to beat leads such as Ribombee and Deoxys-A, whereas Flare Blitz has more PP than Sacred Fire and achieves rolls such as OHKOing Zacian-C without Stealth Rock. With Tera Flying, Ho-Oh partially sheds its crippling Stealth Rock weakness while allowing it to 2HKO defensive Ho-Oh and 3HKO Defensive Arceus formes. Ho-Oh's major Stealth Rock weakness requires mandatory support from hazard control options such as Hatterene and Giratina-O. Setup sweepers such as Koraidon, Kingambit, Zacian-C, and Arceus appreciate Ho-Oh's ability to clean up the opposing team after breaking them down. Ho-Oh's ability to destroy Sticky Web teams allows it to help benefit teammates particularly weak to these types of teams such as Necrozma-DM and Kyurem-B.

Equipped with a Choice Scarf, the Rainbow Pokemon shines as one of Uber's strongest attackers one of the strongest attackers is just not true, its a decent revenge killer at best which is only used so that item slot on kora and kyogre is freed up, so word it accordingly thanks to its great offensive typing allowing it to target threats such as Koraidon and Zacian-C, incredible natural bulk, and amazing ability in Regenerator! Earthquake is valuable coverage, allowing Ho-Oh to hit Pokemon that its STAB moves otherwise would not hit such as Eternatus, Tyranitar, and Glimmora. The final moveslot is not often used, but Dual Wingbeat allows Ho-Oh to have a Flying-type STAB that does not recoil and allows it to beat leads such as Ribombee and Deoxys-A, whereas Flare Blitz has more PP than Sacred Fire and achieves rolls such as OHKOing Zacian-C without Stealth Rock. With Tera Flying, Ho-Oh partially sheds its crippling Stealth Rock weakness while allowing it to 2HKO defensive Ho-Oh and 3HKO Defensive Arceus formes. Ho-Oh's major Stealth Rock weakness requires mandatory support from hazard control options such as Hatterene and Giratina-O. who can also help chip away at some of Ho-Oh's problematic matchups such as Arceus-Water and Kyogre giratina and hatterene cannot do that. Setup sweepers such as Koraidon, Kingambit, Zacian-C, and Arceus appreciate Ho-Oh's ability to clean up the opposing team after breaking them down.
edit: mention somewhere how it can still soft check / switch into stuff like supportceus, certain kora sets, ho-oh, zac after intrepid sword is burnt - this is what really justifies using scarf hooh over other scarfers lando kyogre kora
edit2: mention how its good into web teams specifically since they often dont use stealth rock, and ho-oh outspeeds everything since those teams tend to not run speed boosting moves on multiple mons

Ho-Oh primarily shines as a strong revenge killer and speed control option vs Sticky Webs teams since they often dont carry Stealth Rock or multiple speed boosting threats, which allows it to repeatedly come in, outspeed, and revenge kill without fearing hazards. Thanks to Regenerator, Ho-Oh can soft check or scout sets of Pokemon such as Koraidon, Zacian, Eternatus, and Arceus formes and surprise them by outspeeding and KOing them if in range. Earthquake is valuable coverage, allowing Ho-Oh to hit Pokemon that its STAB moves otherwise would not hit such as Eternatus, Tyranitar, and Glimmora. didnt see this earlier but Eternatus does drop to brave bird with chip/tera The final moveslot is not often used, but Dual Wingbeat allows Ho-Oh to beat leads such as Ribombee and Deoxys-A, whereas Flare Blitz has more PP than Sacred Fire and achieves rolls such as OHKOing Zacian-C without Stealth Rock. should be fine now 2/2 (1/1 2.0?)
