Ho-Oh @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sacred Fire
- Brave Bird
- Earthquake
- Dual Wingbeat / Flare Blitz
Equipped with a Choice Scarf, the Rainbow Pokemon shines as one of Uber's more niche, yet effective, revenge killers thanks to its great offensive typing allowing it to target threats such as Koraidon and Zacian-C, incredible natural bulk, and amazing ability in Regenerator allowing it to soft check threats like Koraidon and opposing Ho-Oh! Earthquake is valuable coverage, allowing Ho-Oh to hit Pokemon that its STAB moves otherwise would not hit such as Eternatus, Tyranitar, and Glimmora. The final moveslot is not often used, but Dual Wingbeat allows Ho-Oh to beat leads such as Ribombee and Deoxys-A, whereas Flare Blitz has more PP than Sacred Fire and achieves rolls such as OHKOing Zacian-C without Stealth Rock. With Tera Flying, Ho-Oh partially sheds its crippling Stealth Rock weakness while allowing it to 2HKO defensive Ho-Oh and 3HKO Defensive Arceus formes. Ho-Oh's major Stealth Rock weakness requires mandatory support from hazard control options such as Hatterene and Giratina-O. Setup sweepers such as Koraidon, Kingambit, Zacian-C, and Arceus appreciate Ho-Oh's ability to clean up the opposing team after breaking them down. Ho-Oh's ability to destroy Sticky Web teams allows it to help benefit teammates particularly weak to these types of teams such as Necrozma-DM and Kyurem-B.
