incoming team post for phpl
Week 1 (DPP)

i was building for highlord instead of playing dpp bc dpp is matchup hell and he went for double my price. he threw out literally everything i made to go for cheese so i stopped building dpp at some point lol. i had the idea to just go for sun and kill stuff with hp regigigas, which is a good plan. but generally this tier's so bad because of no impostor and spore taunt stag are all broken. also drought latias is bad but i was running it like a fool

because of the request for cheese, i made fullpass. this team is not consistent bc it's fullpass, but it can get the job done and has all the tools it needs. but fullpass is worse than speedpass so there's not a lot of reason to run it when all the prep for speedpass hits fullpass just as hard if not harder
Week 2 (DPP)

highlord came up with wg deo-s lead which i thought was cool so i added it. idea with this team is that you kill a bunch of shit with your breakers and then let deo-s and gyara handle stuff trying to break past you first. the gyara set is really not it at all but if you pretend like this is a balance tier it's really good. also this was before i decided mold spinners were bad mons

the giratina antileads deo-s and arc except they spore you first so it doesn't really. this team was almost really good but then i made it slop ass balance. if you replace the 3 mons in the back with breakers it's probably busted, cause the top 3 are a really good core. i will say that dialga is one of the only mold spinners you won't be embarrassed to be seen with

Week 3
i didn't build anything this week. this was the week where highlord decided to start building speedpass for himself every week and i let him bc we were a really bad builder-player core. i did help with one of the speedpasses but highlord made 99% of it so i'm not posting it
Week 4 vs. lag=bad (GSC)

(L)
this was the week i started playing games. i was probably the only person in the entire tour to take gsc seriously. this team is really risky to bring cause of no lugia and no ww meaning you really don't have good scouts. but the idea was to antilead marowak on trodes so lag would bring some dumbass leads from that point on and i could lead trode for free. then i would use trode to get my own momentum going. i wouldn't bring this now because this team gets dragged through the mud by boom2 and most growth2, and those are top 2 sets in the tier. in the game the anti-lead strat didn't work bc lag led lefties lugia for no reason, and he had 3 mewtwos but they were like all physical fsr. i ended up losing bc of a couple misplays + poor luck

(W)
this team's broken as fuck. the game was just me subpassing to aero and haxing them for the win so the game ended in like 2 seconds. nowadays i'd probably change eq on aero to spore or sub but that's it. this team's really consistent and good vs everything and i really should have just loaded it again but w/e

(W)
i put my worldly faith into ohko spam for the last game. the ttar and skarm put in huge amounts of work cause their team couldn't touch them at all so i had a huge mu advantage. this team's surprisingly consistent because ohko is him in this game and you don't lose to sub mewtwo, though you probably lose to sub aero lol. but i knew lag wasn't gonna bring sub aero so i didn't bother changing the sets. when he led lugia for the 3rd time in a row, i realized that it was just the same team for every game, so the good mu + team knowledge secured me the win
Week 5 vs. Ransei (ADV)

(W)
i usually like to build weird stuff for adv, but for tour i knew i had to buckle down and build very boring offensive slop instead of balances with D ranks. i also knew i had this week in the bag because i had poisoned the adv well thoroughly over superpower slak, since i said that it lets other slaks stop your sweep so it didn't beat balance. this was true in a vacuum but you could build around it without a lot of trouble. so my gameplan was to load a ton of superpower slaks and breeze through opposing balance. i included ada hp ghost slak since i was very wary of the imprison gar possibility which owned my whole team. latios is just here so i dont instalose to kyogre. in the game ransei brought balance with a D rank which i was cteaming so i won

(W)
yes this is the team responsible for the screenshot. i didn't wanna get lazy vs jask lead so i brought band slak to ohko it with espeed, then have my jask in the back so i could keep momentum going, similar to the wak lead team from gsc but if it was good instead. tg kyogre patches up sand and lead spikes mus. spout gar looks weird but it 2hkos slak in the rain unboosted which makes the mu vs non-lati offense free. in the game i pulled an autowin mu on preview, so even if ransei could revenge the boosted slak he was never winning that. nowadays i would change one of the back slaks to impish for a better mu vs jask slak core

i didn't get to bring this team but i was saving it for g3. it's basically the g1 team but with duggy who is one of the best anti-don and ogre measures. no ghost move on slak means your gar mu is really bad so this team was definitely taking an unnecessary risk, but i didn't think ransei would bother with a frail support like gar for a g3 set so i didn't tech for it
Week 6 vs. teamo (USUM)

(L)
i actually got a really good mu into the quad kart nonsense i was facing, since i expected it. all of the first 5 mons can cause trouble for kart. but i made stupid plays so i ended up folding for no reason. the incin is also terrible and does nothing. idk why i brought it, especially when i knew teamo wasn't gonna bring special threats anyway and he was privy to fissure. if i replaced incin with like an innards then this team is probably nice. this is also the week i remembered i was supposed to nickname stuff

(L)
this team is just lazy subpass offense where you subpass to stuff multiple times and claim names. i figured it should work since teamo likes balance with no speed. however every time i load this team it loses to a terrible set that cteams it, or i lose because steela is dogshit and doesn't have any bulk. both of these things happened in the game bc i clicked spikes on his bounce mixed smash mmx turn 1, and then went to steela and died to the mmx in a situation where basically every other steel survived (except doublade lol). this instantly lost me the game. i did make some plays to try to come back and brought it down to last mon but i got cleaned
Week 7 vs. TheCreatorOfBullsht (USUM)

(W)
i technically got act win but we still played exhibition so i'm posting these. this was supposed to be my g3 vs teamo but i reused it for bullsht because it also did well into everything he brought. this team is giga broken and if you're a good pilot you basically never lose on it. probably best or 2nd best team i ever made behind altrove. dual dia mindgames are insane bc the dias both sweep different teamstyles so you can cover everything. in the game bullsht made a single wrong predict vs harvest mdia so he lost instantly

(L)
this is just a cteam to lazy offenses. the double hp and innards ensures you always have outs too, and impostor can get trapped by deo-a + setup control can happen. this team's pretty great stuff. in the game bullsht loaded taunt psysurge mmy which is a 6-0. this will get ignored because he brought an insanely off-meta tr team which... the tr core didn't really do shit. but the mmy 6-0ed on preview, and it also lived searing shot with 2% hp. if the searing shot killed i basically won on the spot. sucks but go next

(W)
this is some more cteaming to lazy offense but it also destroys balance. bullsht was using a lot of innards recently and he also liked to run no guards that speed crept mlop, so i decided to run ng pursuit maero to kill 2 birds with one stone. gyara was both anti-offense and a stopgap to rando smashers. then i added 3 op breakers that i could subpass to, and an innards to help vs kart + ng which were both problems. in the game i got an incredible mu so even though i got 4 turn 1 sleeps, i still won on mu
now for some shoutouts
aerobee goat manager, your ability to provide support in so many different formats was unparalleled throughout the tour. your knowledge and expertise made you an amazing center to our amazing team, and we def wouldn't have won without you
Akira 153 only player to go 7-0 throughout the whole tour and we got you for 5.5k... needless to say you carried an already strong team insanely hard. i love your crazy builds as well and the fact that you don't box yourself in when you make teams, which not really many people can say in ph. now go play tiers you actually like
Glory you totally dominated oras and pulled us through a ton of weeks by securing clutch wins. you were one of the most consistent players across the whole tour and you pulled your weight super hard as both one of the best oras builders and pilots
Highlord even when you were in a slump, you didn't let it get to you, and you won almost every game you played in the second half of the tour. you clutched up really hard for us. i also love the fact that you bring batshit sets that i hate and would never use, and then you win with them
realExcaliju you definitely went under the radar this tour despite your strong performance. you had a good record, especially in the first half, and we could always depend on you to win sets and clutch weeks. you were also able to build teams really fast which is admirable considering most of them won
Chessking345 you were a lot of help and a lot of fun to have even though you weren't a player for us. you provided a lot of really cool insight into mons and introduced me to oms i never would have known about. you offered up a good amount of piloting support too. couldn't ask for more from a helper
Electra102 you are carrying this community hard rn. from single handedly keeping old gens alive to hosting this tour without any prior expertise, your love for ph and for the community shows. we are really lucky to have a positive figure like you at the front of the community
GhastlyPixie you are my #1 fan ily!!! pls stick around more you are awesome
AV Cosmoem despite all the talk, i was really unconfident in my skills going into phpl, which is why i took the back seat for the first 3 weeks. but over this tour, i managed to secure a 3-1 record across three very different formats, build tons of teams both for myself and for teammates, and clutch several weeks for us. i genuinely thought i was gonna get rolled if i played at all, so even though this is an unserious tour, i'm still proud of my performance and the fact that i can beat my own expectations
