[OVERVIEW]
Porygon2 is one of the most physically bulky Pokemon in RU thanks to the combination of its very good physical bulk that is further boosted by Eviolite. Access to Recover lets it stay healthy throughout a match and allows it to be a reliable check to common wallbreakers such as Zygarde-10%, Metagross, and Tyrantrum. Porygon2 also has the ability Trace, which can allow it to copy a potentially useful defensive ability such as Prism Armor, Regenerator, or Water Absorb. While Porygon2 sounds like an amazing Pokemon in the metagame, it is weak against the prominent Fighting-types such as Virizion, Machamp, and Toxicroak. Porygon2's bulk is largely thanks to Eviolite, so once it loses it from Knock Off or Trick, it becomes much easier to take out. Furthermore, Porygon2's vulnerability to residual damage from entry hazards and Toxic mean that it can be overwhelmed easy.

Moves
========
Recover keeps Porygon2 healthy throughout the match. Ice Beam is Porygon2's most reliable method of OHKOing Zygarde-10%, Noivern, and Flygon. It also deals considerable damage to Tyrantrum. Foul Play allows Porygon2 to be a reliable check to Metagross. Toxic can be used to break down bulkier Pokemon, while Thunder Wave can paralyze fast offensive threats. Thunderbolt can be run on this set alongside Ice Beam for BoltBeam coverage. It would also allow Porygon2 to hit Pokemon such as Slowbro, Mega Blastoise, and Mantine much harder. However, the ability to check physical attackers with Foul Play is generally more important.
Set Details
========
A Bold nature with maximum HP and Defense EVs along with Eviolite makes Porygon2 as physically bulky as possible. Trace allows Porygon2 to copy the foe's ability, which can potentially aid in its defensive utility.
Usage Tips
========
Porygon2 can easily come in on most physical attackers like Zygarde-10%, Metagross, and Tyrantrum and cripple them with Toxic or Thunder Wave, chip them down with Ice Beam or Foul Play, or recover any health lost with Recover. Porygon2 can also pivot into certain Pokemon to copy their abilities to aid in its defensive role. For example, copying Slowbro's Regenerator can help heal its HP when it switches out, Mantine and Seismitoad's Water Absorb makes it immune to Scald, and Espeon's Magic Bounce can help it bounce Toxic and Stealth Rock back at the foe. Use Recover liberally to make sure that Porygon2 doesn't struggle to check the threats it's supposed to. Do not let Porygon2 get afflicted with status conditions, especially Toxic, because they're detrimental to its defensive utility. Keep Porygon2 away from a potential Knock Off or Trick because it needs its Eviolite to tank hits.
Team Options
========
Because Porygon2 cannot do much to defensive Steel-types like Registeel, partners like Arcanine, Machamp, and Nidoqueen can be very beneficial because they can all deal super effective damage to them. Z-Move users like Synthesis Virizion and Z-Celebrate Shaymin, as well as Mega Pokemon such as Mega Blastoise, Mega Sceptile, and Mega Ampharos, can help Porygon2 by providing it with a switch-in to an incoming Knock Off or Trick. Defensive Psychic-types, like Slowbro and Cresselia, and offensive ones, like Gardevoir and Necrozma, can deal with Fighting-types, making them ideal teammates for Porygon2. Gardevoir can also potentially provide Healing Wish support in case Porygon2 becomes afflicted with Toxic. Heal Bell users like Florges and Vaporeon can heal Porygon2 afflicted with Toxic poison. Florges also resists Knock Off thanks to its Fairy typing.

Other Options
=============
A more offensive set utilizing Z-Conversion with Download, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Conversion, and Recover can potentially make Porygon2 much more offensively threatening. However, without defensive investment and Eviolite, it is difficult to set up and it is still outsped by Zygarde-10% even if it does set up.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Fighting-types**: Porygon2's Normal typing means that it takes super effective damage from common Fighting-types such as Virizion, Machamp, and Toxicroak, though Virizion and Toxicroak do not want to switch into a Thunder Wave at the risk of losing their speed. While Machamp can exploit Toxic or Thunder Wave to get a Guts boost, being fully paralyzed can potentially cost it a crucial KO and being badly poisoned does put Machamp on a timer.
**Losing Eviolite**: Because Porygon2 is over reliant on its Eviolite, it cannot stay in against Knock Off users like Machamp, Drapion, and Donphan, as well as Trick and Switcheroo users like Gardevoir, Choice Scarf Metagross, and Choice Scarf Noivern.
**Steel-types**: Steel-types such as Registeel, Bronzong, and Escavalier can easily take any of Porygon2's attacks and force it out of battle. Metagross can potentially chip Porygon2 with Stealth Rock and Toxic. However, Metagross and Escavalier do not want to switch into Foul Play or Thunder Wave.
**Wallbreakers**: Porygon2 can have issues against common wallbreakers such as Pangoro, Roserade, and Shaymin. Shaymin can lower Porygon2's Special Defense with Seed Flare and proceed to take it out the next turn. Z-Move users such as Ninetales, Raikou, and Salazzle can OHKO Porygon2 with their respective Z-Moves after Stealth Rock damage at +2.
**Bulky Setup Pokemon**: Snorlax and Calm Mind Cresselia take very little from any of Porygon2's moves and can easily set up in front of it. Cresselia can even block Toxic with Substitute and begin setting up with Calm Mind.
**Residual Damage**: While it has access to Recover, Porygon2 lacks a reliable method of dealing with status conditions, especially Toxic. It also takes damage from all entry hazards every time it comes into the battle.
