-Can become very threatening with Nitro Charge
-Not outclassed by Meraruba due to Head Smash and only a 2x Stealth Rock weakness
-Easily revenged killed by faster Pokemon

Set Comments:
-Can easily sweep under correct circumstances
-Reaches 16/17 Attack and 21/22 Speed after a Nitro Charge
-Nitro Charge is an excellent set-up move, having decent power while gaining a +1 boost to speed
-Flare Blitz is Pokabu’s strongest STAB attack- the recoil is unfortunate but necessary
-Wild Bolt hits Water-types that resist Flare Blitz hard
-Head Smash makes Pokabu different from Meraruba, who has higher Attack and Speed
Additional Comments:
-Life Orb gives Pokabu a huge boost to its offense, one that it wants desperately
-However, Berry Juice gives Pokabu an easier set-up and also helps with overall survivability
-Hidden Power Grass or Superpower are viable options to deal with Rock types
-EVs give max Attack and Speed
Team Options:
-Entry hazard support is helpful to assist Pokabu in its sweep
-A Rapid Spin, Defog, or Taunt user is helpful to remove or prevent entry hazards (especially Stealth Rock)
-Wynaut helps Pokabu set up
-Having a Steel-type on hand to dispose of Rock types is helpful
Optional Changes:
-A special set is usable with access to Fire Blast, Grass Knot, and Hidden Power but is quite weak
-A Choice set could be used, but Meraruba does that better due to U-turn
-Pokabu can use Will-o-wisp but lacks good defenses and support options to take advantage of it
Counters:
-If Pokabu is not set up, faster Pokemon such as Staryu, Diglett, and Buizel can easily defeat it
-Even after a Nitro Charge, most Scarfers can outspeed and KO it
-Rock types can take everything except Superpower or a Grass move and easily KO Pokabu back
Dream World:
-Thick Fat is close to useless, as Pokabu already resists Fire- and Ice- type moves.
