Pixilate Scream Tail uses its excellent bulk and Speed to set up Calm Minds, while the power of Pixilate Boomburst makes up for its lackluster Special Attack stat. Wish + Protect provides Scream Tail with longevity and excellent defensive utility on a team, allowing it to help check threats like Galarian Zapdos, Garchomp, and Choice Band Slither Wing,. It can also opt to beat more of its checks with coverage; Psyshock 2HKOes Iron Moth at +1, and Focus Blast OHKOes Kingambit and 2HKOes non-RegenVest Iron Treads at +1. Scream Tail can also opt for Stealth Rock or Thunder Wave to cripple checks such as Corviknight and Heatran. Scream Tail struggles to break through common Fire-types like Heatran, Hisuian Arcanine, and Iron Moth without coverage, so it appreciates teammates like RegenVest Goodra, Primordial Sea Zapdos, and Well-Baked Body Iron Treads handling these threats. The latter two can also pivot Scream Tail into their switch-ins like Garchomp and Corviknight. Scream Tail also struggles against Unaware Pokemon like Cresselia and opposing Scream Tail; as such, teammates like Dragon Tail Hisuian Goodra, Toxapex, and Alolan Muk are appreciated to force them out.
