Pelipper's access to Drizzle and Wide Guard in a metagame full of spread moves and weather control allow it to thrive as a support Pokemon with the threat of strong STAB options. Wide Guard is an excellent utility move, which not only protects its partner but, along with Pelipper's typing, also allows it to counter many Restricted Pokemon such as Groudon, Koraidon, both Calyrex formes, and Kyogre. Weather Ball and Hurricane's high Base Power make up for Pelipper's middling Special Attack, nuking most targets weak to its STAB moves, such as both Urshifu formes and Incineroar. Protect is generally preferred for utility and to block Fake Out, however Tailwind can be used for speed control. Focus Sash is needed to guarantee Pelipper can remain a threat even when facing one of the many Pokemon that can hit it for super effective damage. Tera Ghost is a generally strong Tera type and allows Pelipper to dodge Fake Out, which is especially important because it threatens to break Focus Sash. Tera Stellar is also viable to boost Pelipper's damage.

Any Pokemon that benefits from rain or Wide Guard appreciates Pelipper's support. Calyrex-I, Zacian-C, and Urshifu-R all value Pelipper's support, with Wide Guard blocking super effective Astral Barrages and Precipice Blades and rain boosting Urshifu-R's Surging Strikes. Other support Pokemon like Amoonguss and Incineroar are also strong with Pelipper defensively, with it handling threats such as Urshifu-R and Landorus for Incineroar and Wide Guard blocking Bleakwind Storms from hitting Amoonguss. Its low Speed tier means it's essentially useless against Pokemon that can exploit its Speed and bring it down to its Focus Sash, leaving Pelipper unable to do anything without the threat of being knocked out. Opposing weather also completely cripples Pelipper, as its moves rely on rain to be consistent; however, its lower Speed compared to most weather setters means this scenario is playable, with rain more commonly lasting its five turns. Fake Out and other priority moves that can break Focus Sash easily are also devastating.

Pelipper's access to Drizzle and Wide Guard in a metagame full of opposing spread moves and weather control allow it to thrive as a support Pokemon with the threat of strong STAB options. Wide Guard is an excellent utility move, not only protecting its partner but, along with Pelipper's typing, allow it to counter many restricteds such as Groudon, Koraidon, both Calyrex formes and Kyogre. Weather Ball and Hurricane also have to respected in their own rights, with the high base power moves making up for Pelippers middling Special Attack, nuking most targets targets weak to both STABs, such as both Urshifu formes and Incineroar. Focus Sash is needed to guarantee Pelipper can remain a threat even when facing one of the many Pokemon which can hit it for super effective. (Consider bringing up low speed for Focus Sash, should also talk about Tera Ghost and Stellar.)

Any Pokemon which benefit from Rain or Wide Guard appreciate Pelipper's support. Calyrex-I and Zacian both value Rain, with Wide Guard preventing opposing super effective Astral Barrages and Precipice Blades respectively. Other support Pokemon like Amoonguss and Incineroar are also strong with Pelipper defensively wise, with it resisting Ground, Fighting, and Water attacks which hit Incineroar super effectively, and Wide Guard blocking opposing Bleakwind Storms from hitting Amoonguss. Pelipper's typing, combined with its lackluster defenses, is also its biggest problem, as its going to be brought down to Focus Sash from nearly any attacker, such as Raging Bolt and Rillaboom. It's weak speed tier means it's essentially useless into Pokemon that can exploit that and bring it down to 1HP. Opposing weather control (Like? Don't want people to mistake Koraidon and Groudon which you just stated were good match ups.) also completely cripples Pelipper as its moves rely on Rain to be consistent, however since Pelipper's lower speed compared to most weather setters means this scenario is playable, with Rain running out its 5 turns being more common. (Think this would be better above, highlights its Groudon and Koraidon match up.) Fake Out and other priority moves that can break Focus Sash at low cost are also crippling.

Tera Ghost is a generally strong neutral typing, and allows it to dodge Fake Out, which is especially potent as it threatens to break Focus Sash. Tera Stellar is also viable to boost its damage.

Any Pokemon which benefit from Rain or Wide Guard appreciate Pelippers support. Calyrex-I and Zacian (Urshifu-R is a big one, add it here or in another place in this paragraph.) both value Rain, with Wide Guard preventing opposing super effective Astral Barrages and Precipice Blades respectively. Other support Pokemon like Amoonguss and Incineroar are also strong with Pelipper defensively, with it resisting Ground, Fighting, and Water attacks which hit Incineroar super effectively (just restating the type chart, say something like "Pelipper can cover for Incineroars weaknesses"), and Wide Guard blocking opposing Bleakwind Storms from hitting Amoonguss (add eforce maybe? Up to you.). Pelipper's typing, combined with its lackluster defenses, is also its biggest problem, as its going to be brought down to Focus Sash from nearly any attacker, such as Raging Bolt and Rillaboom. (I don't love this sentence, the point of Focus Sash is to live 2 attacks and make up for its lackluster defenses, and always being brought down to sash is kind of the point of having it.)It's weak speed tier means it's essentially useless into Pokemon that can exploit that and bring it down to 1HP. Opposing weather control also completely cripples Pelipper as it's moves rely on Rain to be consistent, however since Pelipper's lower speed compared to most weather setters means this scenario is playable, with Rain running out its 5 turns being more common.
