Paradox Voltage

Tapu koko has been one of my favorite pokemon since the seventh generation came out. Several years ago I stopped keeping up with the new generations of pokemon but I was encouraged to make a team built around the synergy of Electric Terrain, utilizing Tapu Koko to extend its duration and activate Quark Drive for its Paradox Pokémon teammates. Hawlucha plays an opportunistic role, either revenge killing or sweeping late-game once key threats are weakened. The team focuses on offensive pressure and fast-paced momentum to outpace and overwhelm opponents. Pokepaste.

Tapu Koko
Tapu Koko @ Terrain Extender
Ability: Electric Surge
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Wild Charge
- Iron Head
- Brave Bird
Tapu Koko serves as the team's primary momentum generator, setting Electric Terrain to activate Quark Drive for its teammates while also luring in and weakening key threats. Unlike the common special sets, this physical Tapu Koko prioritizes keeping offensive pressure and maintaining tempo rather than dealing raw damage. Tapu Koko should be switched in early and often against Pokémon it naturally checks, this forces switches and allows it to safely use U-turn to maintain momentum. He can also catch off-guard opponents waiting for a special attacker. Iron head drives Mega Diancie crazy, while Brave Bird is good cover against pokemon like Operpon, Rillaboom and Volcarona.
Hawlucha
Hawlucha @ Electric Seed
Ability: Unburden
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Acrobatics
- Close Combat
- Substitute
My favorite teammate for Tapu Koko years ago. Classic build, Electric Seed is automatically activated upon entry, triggering Unburden and making it nearly impossible to overspeed. Substitute + Sword dance to boost and potentially sweep while Acrobatics and Close combat are strong STAB moves.
Latios-Mega
Latios-Mega (M) @ Latiosite
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Energy Ball
- Ice Beam
- Psyshock
- Aura Sphere
Mega Latios is here to soften up bulky defensive cores and provides valuable Ground immunity. Energy Ball Helps break through Water-types like Alomomola and Dondozo, Ice Beam (very unexpected) covers Ground and Dragon such as Gliscor and Garchomp, Psyshock break special walls like Clodsire and Aura Sphere targets Steel- and Dark-types such as Kingambit and Tyranitar. In addition, his good defense allows him to enter in front of Mega Charizard Y Weather Ball.
Iron Jugulis
Iron Jugulis @ Focus Sash
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Flamethrower
- Air Slash
- Dark Pulse
- Earth Power
Why Iron Jugulis? With Quark Drive activating under Electric Terrain, Iron Jugulis becomes a dangerous special attacker. Flamethrower targets Steel-types like Ferrothorn and Gholdengo, Air Slash and Dark Pulse are STAB and Earth Power destroys Heatran and Glimmora. Its Focus Sash allows it to trade effectively against fast threats, making it a strong choice for early-game disruption. Also provides more Ground Immunity.Tapu Koko @ Terrain Extender
