SM OU OU TEAM - JOJO THEMED!

Hi,

Before you start reading: this is my first thread on here, so it may suck

Alright so, lately in these days, I've been having a bit of trouble in OU, I just couldn't win matches. So, after a few losses, I've been dedicating myself to team building a team, but not just any team, a team that incorporated two of my beloved passions: JoJo's Bizarre Adventures and Pokémon.

After working with it for a while, I came up with this decent team that has JoJo-inspired nicknames, here it is (DISCLAIMER: Sorry for my bad English and also this is my first serious team I've made and, of course, it isn't perfect so I would appreciate all of you to give me some advice so I can try it out and if it works better than the last set I'm 100% going to add yours to this thread):

D.I.S.C.O. (Blacephalon) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Flamethrower
- Shadow Ball
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Poison] / Hidden Power [Ice]

Namesake: D.I.S.C.O. is the name of a Stand user in JoJo's Bizarre Adventures Part 7 (Steel Ball Run), whose Stand name's Chocolate Disco (song by Perfume)

I've been wanting a team where the scarfed clown was in, so there it is. It is a beast, literally, its scarfed speed is enough to out-speed most of the 'mons present in OU, at first I was going to give it "Mind Blown" instead of flamethrower, but I personally chose flamethrower because of the decent power and it won't make you lose his when attacking. Great Ferrothorn killer:
252+ SpA Blacephalon Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 232+ SpD Ferrothorn: 480-568 (136.3 - 161.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tower of Gray (Pinsir-Mega) @ Pinsirite
Ability: Aerilate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Return
- Earthquake
- Quick Attack

Namesake: Tower of Gray is a Stand that appears in JoJo's Bizarre Adventures Part 3 (Stardust Crusaders), all the Stands' names in Part 3 are inspired by Tarot Cards, including this one (The Tower)

When I was designing this team, I thought about one of the most common threats in OU: Venusaur-Mega.
Well this Pokémon can take care of it in one Return(if it doesn't, you can always Quick Attack-it afterwards)! If used wisely it can also take care of the classic D-Dance Tyranitar-Mega in two Earthquakes and Lopunny-Mega also in one Return.
252 Atk Aerilate Pinsir-Mega Return vs. 248 HP / 88 Def Venusaur-Mega: 354-416 (97.5 - 114.6%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Pinsir-Mega Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tyranitar-Mega: 176-208 (51.6 - 60.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Pinsir-Mega Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tyranitar-Mega: 176-208 (51.6 - 60.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Credits to StarStrider946 for suggesting Poison Jab as move and noticing the wrong stats in the damage calculator)
Scary Monsters (Kommo-o) @ Kommonium Z
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 128 Atk / 128 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Clanging Scales
- Flamethrower
- Poison Jab
- Drain Punch

Namesake: Scary Monsters' is a Stand that appears in Part 7 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventures (Steel Ball Run) that allows its user (Diego Brando) to transform into a dinosaur, Scary Monsters is also a reference to one of David Bowie's song: Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps).

I know, it's a very common set to see but its just awesome, trust me. Scary Monsters can be sent out after the opponent sends out a 'mon that you're sure he's not going to switch into a Fairy-Type. This absolute monster, after using its signature Z-Move, can annihilate almost any thread! From Alolan-Ninetails to Heatran. Heatran can be easily 2HKO'd because the worst thing he can do to us is 5HKO us, which he's probably not going to live enough to do.
+1 128 Atk Kommo-o Poison Jab vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Ninetales-Alola: 268-316 (76.7 - 90.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 128 Atk Kommo-o Drain Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Heatran: 282-332 (87.3 - 102.7%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

D4C (Azumarill) @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 132 Atk / 124 Spe
- Belly Drum
- Aqua Jet
- Knock Off
- Play Rough

Namesake: D4C's complete name is Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, this Stand also appears in Part 7. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap is a musical reference for AC/DC song: Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.

This set may just look like a classic set, but looking closely you can see that it has Knock Off as one of its moves; well...its one of the best things ever. It literally one shots Ferrothorn with it after one Belly Drum, Alakazam-Mega its not even a thread anymore with this set, One Jet, OHKO. Same goes for almost every Pokémon who's weak to this one's attacks. And yeah, I did not put any nature on this, I personally think that its already OP enough and I like it like this, you could always select the nature it appears more fitting for this 'mon.
+6 252 Atk Huge Power Azumarill Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 24 Def Ferrothorn: 363-428 (103.1 - 121.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+6 252 Atk Huge Power Azumarill Aqua Jet vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Alakazam-Mega: 409-483 (162.9 - 192.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

C-Moon (Serperior) @ Life Orb
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Leaf Storm
- Giga Drain
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Namesake: C-Moon is the Stand evolution of Whitesnake. It appears in JoJo's Bizarre Adventures Part 6 (Stone Ocean), Its name comes from Paul McCarteny's homonym song. Also its ability plays a bit into C-Moon actual ability (Manga readers will know :psysly: )

I mean, its a classic Contrary Serperior set, able to OHKO most 'mons if used wisely. And das about it :p . Wanted to put Giga Drain for that sweet hp recovery, also be careful when using this set against Lando-T, cause it may have a Flying Z-Move which OHKO's C-Moon. Its also pretty good against Dragon-Type Pokémon and I put Hidden Power Fire to get some coverage from those Ice Type Pokémon which may go OHKO'd if HPF is used after Leaf Storm
+4 252 SpA Life Orb Serperior Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-Therian: 691-815 (216.6 - 255.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+4 252 SpA Serperior Dragon Pulse vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Kyurem-Black: 468-552 (119.6 - 141.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Credits to StarStrider946 for suggesting this set, thank you a lot!)
Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Roost
- Defog
- Whirlwind
- Toxic

Namesake: Horus is one few stands that has an animal as Stand User, it appears in JoJo's Bizarre Adventures (Stardust Crusaders).

Skarmory is a good phaser, it has a very important role in the team as it Defogs away threads like Stealth Rocks, Spikes and also Screens, once that is done you can send Pinsir safely and mega evolve it. It also has got Roost for recovery when it's needed and Toxic to poison the enemy team. Toxic + Whirlwind is a pretty good combo as it can poison all the team and with just Whirlwind you can make the enemy switch to the Pokemon you feel safe to go against.

It took me all my Saturday afternoon to write this, but I'm sure it was worth it.
Let me know if you liked it and if you found imperfections.

Hi there! I tried this team out for a bit and I like the way it plays, but there are a few changes I would like to make that could hopefully take this team to the next level.

First off, the Kommo-o. This mon is one of my favorites, as it is extremely versatile due to its above-average bulk and ability to run viable mixed sets. However, flash cannon is not a move that i typically run on Kommo-o. If you are running a mixed set, I prefer poison jab over flash cannon for this set since you have higher Atk than SpAtk and evenly invested ev's in both. Poison jab hits harder, and can 2hko fini at +1, which really helps since your team is extremely weak to it after serperior is gone. Also, I'm not sure if this was intentional, but your calc vs. alolan ninetales shows you have max SpAtk which is not the same set as mentioned in the team.

Second, you need a defogger. This team doesn't really need to have hazards up at all times so you don't need a spinner but if you want to switch in to mega pinsir AT ALL during the game, rocks can't be up. Taking half your health in damage puts you at a severe disadvantage vs lots of mons in the tier, and blacephalon takes 25% as well. For the defogger, I would suggest either Skarmory or Tornadus-therian. I have linked sets below for both that you could use. I would personally remove azumarill as I feel it is forced out by some common grass types in the tier such as bulu or kartana, both of which are walled by flying types.

Lastly, Chansey NEEDS to have soft-boiled if you want it to serve any purpose at all. I would replace seismic toss with soft-boiled, as toxic makes it so chansey isn't just setup fodder and you can force opposing threats to switch out.

Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Roost
- Defog
- Whirlwind
- Toxic
Phaser skarmory, can force out opposing sweepers with whirlwind and defog away rocks, which helps out mega pinsir and blace as mentioned beforehand

Tornadus-Therian (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Defog
Standard Smogon pivot set, not really too much to explain here.

Thank you very much for your suggestion! I'll be making changes for this team immediately! Again, thank you so much! :psysly: . Also I'm going to edit the damage calculation for Kommo-o
