OU Stall team (AKA GREAT WALL)

This is a new team i have been trying out and so far having a lot of fun ...both winning and losing ...

just wanted to get thoughts and any improvements

The idea of this team is to setup seed while sponging attacks as your opponent just dies away from seed+rock+toxic spike damage
Usual leads are either Ferrothorn or Whimsicott...with the team being centered around them

Floatzilla (Ferrothorn) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Power Whip

My floatzilla is my usual lead to scout the other persons lead, barring a fire type/move holder pokemon this guy sets up leech seed then stealth rock.
Already good with defence and the EV in SDef makes him ideal to also sponge some outrage damage...very good for Haxorus/Dnite (not carrying Fire punch).
Protect is the FIRST move i always use against doubtful pokemon to see if they are carrying fire moves then switch to my Toad. Jolteon is a threat
so leech/power whip and protect.

Furry (Whimsicott) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Taunt
- Protect
- Leech Seed

Ah yes the thorn (excuse the reference) in everyones side. Revenge killer, comes in with leech seed (into someone who can't kill him) then with leftys and subtitutes
and leech seed recovery, he can literally just alternate between protect and substitute to keep full HP and sponge attacks while the opponenet dies away.
Also prankster taunt from behind a subtitute can stop Dnite/Gyrado from dancing. Also a deathe fooder leech seeder to die and seed.

Drainy (Tentacruel) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Protect

Comes in ALWAYS after Politoed to benefit from Drizzle Dish, this is to sponge anything not psychic and EQ or thunder. Lefty's and protect + Dish make for good healing.
Rapid Spin to spin away any hazards setup for me, and scald for main attack. Good burn rate. Sets up toxic spikes when it gets a chance for major damage on switchins

Wet'em (Politoed) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Drizzle
EVs:
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Dark]

Ah the drizzler, comes in to take any fire moves aimed at Ferrothorn and 'scott. Weaken fire effectiveness allowing them to stay in for a lot longer.
Also sets up tentacruel for his entry.Ice beam for Haxorus and non t-punching Dnite. Focus blast for opposing Blisseys/Forretress/Ferrothorn etc. Hidden power dark was
initially a mistake but i kept it for magic bounce espeon.

Heal'em (Blissey) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Wish
- Softboiled
- Toxic
- Heal Bell

My Specially defensive helaer. Wish to heal any dieing pokemon for switchins, softboiled to stay alive
Toxic for flying types who avoid toxic spikes and heal bell for offset Thunderwave and burn.

Nightwing (Dragonite) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 HP / 44 Atk / 212 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Fire Punch
- Roost

This guy is my main late game sweeper, come into something that can't 2HKO it, then Dance, Roost then Sweep.
By now (Hopefully) i have seed setup (from at least fodder 'scott) and toxic spikes, so maybe 3 opponent pokemon left.
(if its any more ...then submit)...anyway ... After 2 /3 Dances Firepunch (even in the rain) for steel...or simply outrage.

Any thoughts, improvements, constructive criticism is appreciated

Edit...Edited and put up a more descriptive strategy, fixed Blissey EV's (i have been using this guy for at least a week without realizing) lol

Please increase your descriptions to tell their exact roles, functions, and checks against opposing teams. This will allow me and the other raters to give better and more lengthy rates.

blissey and toed don't have EV's?
also maybe change toeds hp from dark, to grass?
also you're missing importable and whatnot lol

Blissey is also missing a nature. I'm assuming Blissey is bold, with 252 hp, 252 def, and 4 hp. Could you please lengthen your description of each pokemon, as to what each pokemon does for your team, as Dragone said. I've seen this one Dragonite set on PIF's Gen4 OU team, and it worked really well. Why not try that.

Nightwing (Dragonite) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 HP / 44 Def / 212 SpD
Careful Nature (+SpD, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Refresh
- Roost

This thing is such a boss. It only gets stopped by most bulky steel types. At +2, after all hazards are out, this thing can 1-2 hko lots of pokemon. You could cut the HP to 176 and run a little attack, for a more powerful STAB. The defense Ev's could also be moved to attack, or speed. Choice Band haxorus could really benefit this team, as it is a supreme wallbreaker, and again, after hazards it nearly 1hko's anything with outrage that isn't skarmory or bronzong.

with my dragonite, I use Earthquake, as it still hits steel types, has higher Base Power than F-punch, and isn't weakened by rain. As a result, I use Dragon Claw to prevent being Outrage Locked on a Balloon user, so I can pop them and EQ them in the face...

Also lets you kill T-tar and Ninetales, T-tar is a real Bastard to 'Nite, especially specsTar...

then you have a problem with a physically defensive Ferrothorn on this team

whereas i can KO a TTar with my toad or 'scott

Stall's biggest nemesis, Calm Mind Reuniclus can just run through your team. It can KO Ferrothorn and Tentacruel, take nothing from blissey and Whimsicott due to Magic Guard, and stomach the attacks thrown by Dragonite and Politoed. I would strongly suggest making Politoed have a defnsive set with Perish Song. Also, what's stall doing without spikes? Make Ferrothorn have spikes andTo fix this I suggest changing Blissey's set as well to Water Pulse/ Stealth Rock /Wish /Protect.

Whimsicott isn't really doing much for this team without Encore. So I suggest a defensive Celebi with Heal Bell.

Lastly, replace Dragonite with Swords Dance Lucario with Ice Punch and a Focus Sash.

Whimsicott is dead weight on this team, it's too frail to fit. Add Gliscor, as you desperately need a fighting resist, Toxic Stalling set should do you well.

I actually built this team around Whimsicott ... and he has been my main 'go to guy'

after leech seed he is impossible to stop...period

Ok you got hp dark for MB espeon yet STAB hydropump in the rain does around 2x more. Replace it with HP electric for garados or HP grass for gastrodon.

Fire punch is trolololol on dragonite. You say it counters lucario, ferrothorn and skarmory but something like brick break does the same amount to each pokemon except lucario which deals more.

When I read your setup for sweep for dragonite, you mention toxic stall and seed recovery but that is very shaky since steel aren't affected by poison and steels wall your dragonite if you still keep fire punch.

Hi

First thing I notice is that strong physical attackers can give you a headache, CB Terrakion and even the likes of BU Conkeldurr have the potential to sweep your entire team. A good solution for this can be to use Gliscor instead of Whimsicott. Gliscor can take on pretty much every physical attacker but it can also help you against opposing stall teams if you decide to run Taunt on it. Gliscor and Tentactruel have pretty good synergy together so if you want you could run a Sub-Protect set as well, as it makes a good Toxic staller. It's all based on preference.

Hydro Pump in the Rain hits Espeon harder then Hidden Power [Dark] does, so there is no need to run the latter. Perish Song would be a nice alternative, a pseudo-hazer will really add up the effectiveness of the team by abusing hazards, taking out (last poke) stat-uppers, Baton Pass teams, etc. I also noticed you haven't listed any EV's for Politoed. A good spread here would be 72 HP / 252 SAtk / 184 Spe with a Timid nature. This lets you outspeed base 115's (Starmie, etc) and things that aim to outspeed those (ScarfTar).

Another useful suggestion is to try Chansey over Blissey. Chansey is much bulkier and in the Rain she doesn't mind the lack of Leftovers recovery. I also suggest using Stealth Rocks instead of Heal Bell on Chansey (or Blissey) and give Ferrothorn Spikes instead, Spikes will add to the "stalling" of your team. Heal Bell isn't missed that much as you have solid status absorbs in the suggested Gliscor set and Chansey/ Blissey.

Last but not least, you could use Earthquake over Fire Punch on Dragonite as Fire type moves are heavily weakened by the Rain. Earthquake lets you hit problematic Steel types as Jirachi and the likes for better damage.

Hope these suggestion helped and good luck with the team!
