All right! With DST OU an entirely new subforum, we can do with a new usage statistics thread even though it's been quite some time since it came out! Credits to Antar~~
Scizor is back up and has claimed the throne of the highest usage in OU just like back in DPP OU! Ferrothorn has been usurped from its position after holding the highest usage for quite some time. Does this mean that Scizor is increasing its popularity once again thanks to its ability to revenge kill a wide variety of threats or is it that VoltTurn teams with Scizor are increasing in popularity, with Rotom-W and Landorus not far behind? Or has there been more viable sets available for Scizor or maybe it suits almost any kind of team, whatever the weather if it has one? Dragonite is behind by slightly more than 5% in usage and is solidly secured in the top few positions in usage as usual. Multiscale is one of the best abilities afterall, and given its diverse movepool, who knows what set it's actually using? Now with Tyranitar just above Politoed in usage, it might show that sandstorm teams are gaining more popularity than rain teams. Gliscor, Landorus, and Terrakion see much higher usage than the rain abusers, namely Tentacruel and Tornadus. Is the metagame leaning more towards sandstorm? Is rain stall or other types of rain playstyles getting outshone? Sun teams as usual falls behind, and hail is still the least popular weather. Probably the Stealth Rock weakness that both permanent inducers share make it too hard to win weather wars? Dugtrio, known for its ability to trap and revenge kill Pokemon including weather inducers such as Tyranitar and Ninetales, now lies low in OU. Have people found alternatives to sway weather wars or is keeping the field clean of entry hazards too demanding to keep Focus Sash intact if it has one?
Weather aside, Scrafty and Toxicroak barely remain in OU. Are they no longer as good as what people expected, or are other threats more in favor? Chansey still lags behind Blissey, probably due to the fact that sandstorm is more common now and the lack of Leftovers recovery is not helping it despite having better overall bulk. Starmie is probably the most popular Rapid Spin user in the tier even though its Pursuit bait etc, thanks to its ability to get past common spinblockers such as Jellicent. Gengar hardly wants to switch into Starmie in case it faces a Hydro Pump that will drown it thanks to its pathetic defenses, and the next best option, Jellicent, isn't even close in usage. Are people less bothered about spinning away entry hazards now or even try to prevent them from being spun? Donphan is still a viable spinner to use, especially on sun teams. With so much entry hazards around (mostly Stealth Rock??), no wonder why Ninetales and Abomasnow is far behind Politoed and Tyranitar (let's not forget Hippowdon though). Is Azelf going to make a comeback and return to OU as a suicidal lead of sorts that was highly popular in DPP OU? Or will it simply stay where it is? No tier changes has been made to OU; maybe OU is getting more and more balanced even though it probably already is. Who knows what will happen when B2/W2 comes out, but leave that to this thread.

Politoed is the most common lead despite it being less seen than Tyranitar. Probably this is due to the fact that rain teams are more reliant on the rain while sandstorm teams often use the sand just to change the weather into their favor. Ninjask being in 27th might show that Baton Pass teams are still used and are viable. It wouldn't be surprising to see successful Baton Pass teams though! Azelf is surprisingly high in lead usage despite being UU. It might be interesting to take a look at what people actually use on Azelf over here...
Focus Sash and Stealth Rock clearly indicates a suicide lead. Even with Team Preview, are leads that important afterall? Is getting Stealth Rock on the field on turn 1 that important? Maybe.
Now for the 1337 stats!
This data only takes into account teams whose user has a current rating--as of 4/1--of 1337 or higher. In tiers where there were not enough players with a rating that high, I(Antar) lowered the cutoff as specified.
The first few might not seem much different from the normal stats but there are some interesting things about this statistic. Ferrothorn is not even in top 10!! Other entry hazard users, including those that aren't even OU such as Azelf and Deoxys-D, made it into the 1337 stats and have quite a solid postion there. Suicide leads are great for certain playstyles such as hyper offense, and such playstyles might be viable and good enough to make it into 1337 stats. Abomasnow is 20th, ahead of Ninetales and even Chansey! Hail is a perfectly viable weather and didn't deter some people from using it. While many non-OU Pokemon have a high ranking in 1337 stats, other OU Pokemon such as Conkeldurr have to settle for lower placings. Conkeldurr is only 68th despite being 33rd in the normal stats. The non-OU Pokemon with the highest usage here is Deoxys-D, which was banished to BL from UU during the tier shifts. The top 10 Pokemon do give an interesting insight to what people in the upper ladder (if that's what it's called? >.>) use, and how they deviate from the standard ladder. Maybe exploring less-used Pokemon might be a good thing! On another note, go ahead and visit The Outsiders Challenge and make a team without the top 10 Pokemon and see how you'll fare! Who says you have to follow the trend and use what people use :)
Go ahead and discuss the random questions I've littered this post with or even make your own! :) With the shuffling of Pokemon usage, the usage stats is quite different than it was months ago! While OU is a balanced tier, it certainly is not stale! :)

Ferrothorn has been usurped from its position after holding the highest usage for quite some time. Does this mean that Scizor is increasing its popularity once again thanks to its ability to revenge kill a wide variety of threats or is it that VoltTurn teams with Scizor are increasing in popularity, with Rotom-W and Landorus not far behind? Or has there been more viable sets available for Scizor or maybe it suits almost any kind of team, whatever the weather if it has one? Dragonite is behind by slightly more than 5% in usage and is solidly secured in the top few positions in usage as usual. Multiscale is one of the best abilities afterall, and given its diverse movepool, who knows what set it's actually using? Now with Tyranitar just above Politoed in usage, it might show that sandstorm teams are gaining more popularity than rain teams. Gliscor, Landorus, and Terrakion see much higher usage than the rain abusers, namely Tentacruel and Tornadus. Is the metagame leaning more towards sandstorm? Is rain stall or other types of rain playstyles getting outshone? Sun teams as usual falls behind, and hail is still the least popular weather. Probably the Stealth Rock weakness that both permanent inducers share make it too hard to win weather wars? Dugtrio, known for its ability to trap and revenge kill Pokemon including weather inducers such as Tyranitar and Ninetales, now lies low in OU. Have people found alternatives to sway weather wars or is keeping the field clean of entry hazards too demanding to keep Focus Sash intact if it has one?
Weather aside, Scrafty and Toxicroak barely remain in OU. Are they no longer as good as what people expected, or are other threats more in favor? Chansey still lags behind Blissey, probably due to the fact that sandstorm is more common now and the lack of Leftovers recovery is not helping it despite having better overall bulk. Starmie is probably the most popular Rapid Spin user in the tier even though its Pursuit bait etc, thanks to its ability to get past common spinblockers such as Jellicent. Gengar hardly wants to switch into Starmie in case it faces a Hydro Pump that will drown it thanks to its pathetic defenses, and the next best option, Jellicent, isn't even close in usage. Are people less bothered about spinning away entry hazards now or even try to prevent them from being spun? Donphan is still a viable spinner to use, especially on sun teams. With so much entry hazards around (mostly Stealth Rock??), no wonder why Ninetales and Abomasnow is far behind Politoed and Tyranitar (let's not forget Hippowdon though). Is Azelf going to make a comeback and return to OU as a suicidal lead of sorts that was highly popular in DPP OU? Or will it simply stay where it is? No tier changes has been made to OU; maybe OU is getting more and more balanced even though it probably already is. Who knows what will happen when B2/W2 comes out, but leave that to this thread.

Ferrothorn is not even in top 10!! Other entry hazard users, including those that aren't even OU such as Azelf and Deoxys-D, made it into the 1337 stats and have quite a solid postion there. Suicide leads are great for certain playstyles such as hyper offense, and such playstyles might be viable and good enough to make it into 1337 stats. Abomasnow is 20th, ahead of Ninetales and even Chansey! Hail is a perfectly viable weather and didn't deter some people from using it. While many non-OU Pokemon have a high ranking in 1337 stats, other OU Pokemon such as Conkeldurr have to settle for lower placings. Conkeldurr is only 68th despite being 33rd in the normal stats. The non-OU Pokemon with the highest usage here is Deoxys-D, which was banished to BL from UU during the tier shifts. The top 10 Pokemon do give an interesting insight to what people in the upper ladder (if that's what it's called? >.>) use, and how they deviate from the standard ladder. Maybe exploring less-used Pokemon might be a good thing! On another note, go ahead and visit The Outsiders Challenge and make a team without the top 10 Pokemon and see how you'll fare! Who says you have to follow the trend and use what people use :)
Go ahead and discuss the random questions I've littered this post with or even make your own! :) With the shuffling of Pokemon usage, the usage stats is quite different than it was months ago! While OU is a balanced tier, it certainly is not stale! :)
