SM OU OU Fun With Baton Pass

INTRODUCTION

Hi guys, my name is TheCamelDude, and I'm working on a team for SM OU. I have several thoughts for mons that would fit on this team, but I need help narrowing it down. The team is based around Speed Boost Baton Pass Scolipede, so it wouldn't work as a fully serious team, but I'm having fun with this anyway.

WHAT I NEED HELP WITH

I have decided on 3 members of this team as permanent members, but I'm having difficult deciding on the last 3. I'll post the options I've thought of, and your job is to tell me which 3 might work the best, or if you have any ideas I might've missed, mention them.

THE THEME OF THE TEAM

The whole team is based around Baton Pass Scolipede to get speed into fantastically strong mons and/or mons that can set their power up.

THINGS I WILL BE USING FOR SURE

Dugtrio @ Focus Sash
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Reversal
- Stealth Rock
- Sucker Punch

My lead usual. The idea is to get off rocks and then hurt something. I can save it for trapping if the situation calls for it. But this team hates being bothered by Sturdy and Sashes.

Scolipede @ Black Sludge / Waterium Z
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Baton Pass
- Poison Jab / Aqua Tail
- Protect
- Substitute

Obviously the focus of my team. It should come in whenever it's safe and get some speed going to Baton Pass to the rest of my team. Hard-reading Substitute on the opponent's switch is really helpful since it ensures your recieving mon won't take damage as it comes in, barring sound moves and hazards. Substitute also shuts down stall pretty hard since status won't matter anymore. Poison Jab with Black Sludge is combo 1, which lets it get health back bit by bit to get off more Substitutes, while Waterium Z and Aqua Tail is combo 2, beating down fire types that can at least threaten Mawile.

Mawile-Mega @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- Knock Off / Fire Fang
- Play Rough
- Swords Dance

This is for sure the mega I want to use. Normally, it's only checks are Tapu Lele, Ferrothorn, and Landorus-T to an extent, but having +2 or more speed helps beat these. Intimidate as it comes in makes it optimal to send on a physical attacker, forcing it to switch so you can set up a Swords Dance, and once that happens, there's no comebacks. This movepool uses both of its dual STAB, as well as Knock Off to hit everything that resists them neutrally. I considered Fire Fang to take care of steel types more easily, but then Toxapex would be hard to beat, and Knock Off at least hits steel neutrally.

OPTIONS FOR THE REST OF THE TEAM

Zygarde @ Dragonium Z / Leftovers
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Coil
- Extreme Speed / Substitute
- Outrage
- Thousand Arrows

Coil was chosen over Dragon Dance because of Scolipede's speed buffs, and it grants defensive buffs. Thousand Arrows is the main STAB, since it puts a dent in everything not grass type. It doesn't have any good physical moves for grass types, which is why I thought of Z Outrage, which turns Devastating Drake into a 120 base power physical dragon move that at least hits them safely. If a z move is not wanted on Zygarde, then plain Outrage with Leftovers does just fine. This only leaves it having issues with Tapu Bulu, which Scolipede can deal with with Poison Jab, or Zygarde can hit with Extreme Speed. Also after enough Coils, Bulu wouldn't be able to break a Zygarde Substitute, so you could run that over Extreme Speed to try and set up on it and eventually get the stats to wall it and do some damage with Thousand Arrows.

Espeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Dazzling Gleam
- Morning Sun / Substitute
- Stored Power

Magic Bounce gives you a way to deal with enemy hazard setters temporarily, and makes it impossible to phaze out. It can come in on special attackers, let Substitute break, then start setting up Calm Minds, thus turning Stored Power into a devastating STAB. Dazzling Gleam hits dark types that want to absorb Stored Power, and Morning Sun keeps your HP up. You can run Substitute over Morning Sun if you don't want to worry about Sucker Punch after Scolipede's Substitute is gone.

Kyurem-Black @ Icium Z
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Freeze Shock
- Fusion Bolt
- Ice Beam
- Roost

Standard Icium Z Kyurem-Black, with Ice Beam being your main STAB and Fusion Bolt giving it boltbeam coverage. Icium Z off of Freeze Shock is a 1-use nuke with 200 base power. Its great offensive stats play well off the added speed from Scolipede. Roost keeps you from dying.

Araquanid @ Assault Vest
Ability: Water Bubble
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leech Life
- Liquidation
- Poison Jab
- Mirror Coat

Once Scolipede compensates for its incredibly low speed, this thing can be a lot more threatening. Mirror Coat can destroy some special attackers better than Liquidation, and Araquanid didn't really have a good 4th move for it to use anyway. Scald's another option to hit physically defensive walls and cripple physical attackers. Just watch out for fast scarves like Garchomp, Latios, Gengar, and Pheromosa, since your base speed is so low you'd need several Speed Boosts to outspeed them.

Gyarados @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bounce
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Waterfall

Once it comes in, you can maybe get off a Dragon Dance or 2 to try and get up your attack and even more speed, but the idea is to click Supersonic Skystrike and kill something, thus giving you a Moxie boost and sweeping from there.

Dragonite @ Electrium Z / Lum Berry
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Fire Punch / Earthquake
- Outrage
- Thunder Punch

Pretty standard, though with Multiscale, there's a good chance Scolipede's Substitute will need 2 hits to get rid of, giving you extra time to set up Dragon Dances. Lum Berry is an option if you don't want to use your z move here, and Earthquake can be used over Fire Punch to better deal with Heatran while losing out on Scizor and Ferrothorn.

Pheromosa @ Life Orb
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 104 SpA / 152 Spe
Naughty Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin
- U-turn / Lunge

Obviously a terror to deal with whether it has a Choice Scarf or a Life Orb, but now it gets the speed boost without Scarf, while also getting the extra damage of Life Orb. High Jump Kick is the main STAB, Ice Beam crushes switch-ins like Landorus-T, Rapid Spin can clear out hazards on a whim since the rest of the team suffers from them, and U-turn can play mindgames by forcing switches and getting out of there. Or if you want a bug STAB that WON'T make you switch out, use Lunge.

Manaphy @ Waterium Z / Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Energy Ball / Psychic
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Tail Glow

Tail Glow gives a scary and immediate +3 to Manaphy's Sp.Atk, and if you get off 2, that's +6. Coverage is pretty standard, Energy Ball hits Rotom-Wash while Psychic hits Toxapex. Waterium Z is viable for a nuke move, or just Leftovers is fine.

Marowak-Alola @ Thick Club
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bonemerang
- Flare Blitz
- Shadow Bone
- Swords Dance

I used Rock Head because this one's a sweeper, not an anti-meta, and it would suck to have its sweep end early due to Flare Blitz recoil. Bonemerang over Earthquake breaks Mimikyu's disguise and still hits it, which helps in the losing match-up.

Tapu Bulu @ Terrain Extender / Leftovers / Life Orb
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Horn Leech
- Megahorn
- Superpower
- Swords Dance

Grassy Surge boosts Horn Leech's power big time, making it quite scary for a move that keeps Tapu Bulu healthy. Superpower deals with Ferrothorn and other steel mons, and Swords Dance helps it deal with bulky Mega Scizor, Celesteela, and Skarmory a little easier despite the unfavorable matchup. Terrain Extender keeps Grassy Terrain around for quite a while, Leftovers lets Bulu regenerate even more health per turn, and Life Orb increases damage output while recoil damage is mitigated by Horn Leech and Grassy Terrain.

Tapu Lele @ Terrain Extender / Choice Specs
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Focus Blast / Shadow Ball / Thunderbolt / Psychic / Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Moonblast
- Psychic / Psyshock

Psychic Terrain blocks priority, which with the speed boosts, basically guarantees you the first move every time. Terrain Extender will let you keep that for a long time, which is beneficial to the entire team, while Choice Specs lets you hit like a truck. Focus Blast hits Heatran, Shadow Ball hits other Tapu Lele, and Thunderbolt hits Celesteela and Skarmory. Psychic does more damage, but Psyshock hits Sp.Def walls like Chansey for much better damage. Or just run both psychic STABs and don;t worry about the extra coverage in moveslot 1.

Landorus-Therian @ Rockium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Knock Off / Superpower.
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance

We all know dual dance Landorus-T is terrifying to face, but if it had to run either Rock Polish OR Swords Dance and could not run both, Rock Polish would be scarier in most situations. But this team gets its speed from Scolipede, so Swords Dance it is. Welcome to a dual dance Landorus-T that only needs to set up 1 of its stats on its own, comes in with a free Substitute if the team is being played properly, and has room for an extra coverage move. Superpower hits steel types like Ferrothorn harder, while Knock off allows you to not have to worry about your stats. Both are more reliable than plain Stone Edge when Earthquake is not going to work out.

WHAT I'M CURRENTLY USING

The team currently has Dugtrio, Scolipede, Mawile-Mega, Espeon, Tapu Lele, and Pheromosa.

CONCLUSION

If anyone has any suggestions as to which of these I should use, or any new suggestions I might've missed, let me know. Thanks for the input!
