Tie Rules

General Tournament Rules:
  • Identity: I expect many battles to be completed under alts. This can be bad for tournament security, and thus I will make this clear: If I hear any whispers of identity theft (battling as someone you are not) or proxy battling (helping someone else battle through pm) I will not be pleased and I will take severe actions.
  • Timer Clause: As for taking long between moves, if your opponent asks you to hurry up, please oblige. If you are doing a damage calc for a key turn that is one thing, but prolonging every move is suspicious and annoying. Don't do it. Furthermore, Battle Timeout is a rule for a reason. If you run out of time, you lose, simple as that. It does not matter what your opponent says. Do not battle if you think you will have to leave mid battle, and instead reschedule for a better time.
  • Disconnections: Finally, in the case of a disconnect, the decision is in the hands of the player who did not disconnect. The options are: redo the battle move for move, redo the battle with the same teams but different moves, or redo the battle with completely different teams. If the battle was without a doubt over, they may also take the win. Any suspicion that a disconnect was committed on purpose to redo a match may be appealed to me, and if I feel this happened there will be severe consequences, don't do it.

Fixed a technicality where one set actually hasn't ended due to replay missing, cc watashi

Luigi devin your set technically isn't over yet bc I missed that the two linked replays weren't both Luigi wins.

i'm not gonna contest my act loss since it's just a circuit tour and i was admittedly 27 mins late for my game, but i would like to warn the tournament community about the Walter White of Activity Fishing. someone whose name starts with assault vest and ends with rice. someone whose alt is a type of pickle.

our scheduling vm, we were planning to play on monday and i was late by about half an hour. without a doubt he had completely vanished off smogtours by then and for the next few days i tried to chase him down like a roaming pokemon to no avail, despite him being active elsewhere

caught him online for friday tour but he straight up ignored me

this was from a few hours later. apparently he was watching the tour the whole time but decided to respond to me right before getting too tired to play. when i tried to ask him what he meant by "other series" he had already evaporated. lolz!

the day after when he was playing for some doubles tour. ignored

after that i just gave up since it was clear that he had zero intention of actually playing the game. everyone who i talk to in this community has had a bad experience scheduling with this guy at some point. i took the screens above because i knew he had a widespread reputation for doing this kind of stuff. we're talking about the person who tried to fish in a finals tiebreak here . you may have noticed above that he had deleted my vm on their wall...literally a few minutes after this round went up...i wonder why!

once again not making this post to complain about what happened to me this week, but rather to caution anyone in the future who is matched up with this person. one mistake and you are fucked. do not be lenient with this guy. do not be vague with this guy. give him an inch and he will take a mile. pickle man will go for the neck.
