So, I've been ruminating on this set for quite a while now and I think it's about time I showed it off to the world. Meet: Swords Dance Hydro Pump Samurott.
Samurott @ Mystic Water
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naughty / Naive Nature
- Swords Dance
- Aqua Jet
- Megahorn
- Hydro Pump
Now I know you're thinking "Cyan, why the hell would you run a special move on a physical sweeper?" but believe you me, thus set is not one to be slept on. (also, np nape does the same thing on the opposite attacking side in UU iirc)
Here are all the perks of running Hydro instead of Waterfall:
- look super cool and win all of your battles (this one is confirmed not to work, sorry :/)
- 2hko Weezing, Garbodor, Def Mesprit, Def Miltank, Pivot Xatu, Defensive Costa and Oma and OHKO Lix, Rhydon, Pilo and Regirock all without having to boost (bonus points for beating Garb without taking RH + Aftermath)
- Have a slightly better neutral damage output (Hydro does about 3-4% more to 0/4 SDef Mesprit, for example) especially with the tendency of NU mons to have more Def than SDef
- Surprise people who think you are SD/Special (depending on what move you click first)
- Have a stronger Megahorn than special sets with which you can hit Lanturn/Gastro
- Be able to blame hax when you miss a Hydro that would've won you the game
Things that don't get any worse by running this set
-Beating up cm Psychics (unless Xatu boosts before you Hydro it)
- Beating most things that die to +2 Waterfall (most of them die to Hydro just fine or even better, except for a few soon-to-come exceptions)
- +2 Torrent AJet (this actually gets better, as most sd sets run lum and not mystic water)
- Mantine, Poliwrath, Ferroseed and Pelipper (sadly, Pelipper needs investment to get 2hko'd by Hydro after SR)
Things that get worse by running this set
- Mega Audino (literally free boosts; at least +4 Waterfall does damage to it)
- Not having Lum as an emergency status check -- though if you get burned, you can still click Hydro to your heart's content
So as you can see, this set is a pretty cool lure/option that is a good amount of reward for not a whole lot of risk, and I recommend you try it out.
Speaking of coming soon™, the RMT of the team in the replay is gonna happen soon, so watch out for that!

I really wish I had tested what the "Download Replays" button did before I tested it, because I had some pretty cool replays that don't work anymore since I didn't save the link. I do, however, have one replay is the finals of a recent room tour: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/nu-410985056 where I 6-0d with SD hydro rott; opponent could've stopped sweep by going in to Skunk but hey we take those.
