[SET COMMENTS]

With near perfect STAB coverage in Earthquake and Head Smash, an impressive Speed stat, and access to one of the best setup moves in Dragon Dance, Onix has a solid place in LC. Thanks to its typing and incredible Defense stat, Onix is one of the most reliable answers to threats such as Vullaby and Munchlax. Early-game, Onix should be brought in on resisted attacks and should look at dishing out damage with Head Smash, as Rock Head prevents recoil damage and it 2HKOes virtually anything that doesn't resist it, or it should take advantage of the amount of switches that it forces by setting Stealth Rock. Earthquake is used for hitting targets that resist Head Smash such as Pawniard, Galarian Farfetch'd, and Ferroseed. Body Press can be used as an alternative to Stealth Rock, as it takes advantage of Onix's high Defense stat and hits targets that resist Head Smash such as Ferroseed and Timburr for more damage than Earthquake would. Once the opposing team has been worn down sufficiently, Onix should take the opportunity to set up on Pokemon that are unable to KO it in one hit, such as Galarian Ponyta and Vullaby, and then proceed to sweep through teams with either Head Smash, Earthquake, or Body Press.

Switch-ins to Water-, Grass-, Ground-, and Fighting-type attacks are a necessity, as Onix has a bad matchup against them. Powerful Water-types such as Corphish and Wingull are great partners, as they're able to threaten bulkier Ground-types such as Mudbray and Trapinch. Corphish can also act as a reliable revenge killer for faster threats thanks to its priority Aqua Jet, while Wingull is able to pressure Grass- and Fighting-types thanks to Hurricane while also providing the team with a Ground immunity. Hazard setters such as Ferroseed and Dwebble are excellent on teams with Onix, as they either provide Onix with the opportunity to run Body Press or provide the team with Spikes support, which makes it easier to wear down the opposing team. Ferroseed is especially noteworthy, as it provides the team with a Water and Grass resistance and is able to remove items from the opposing team thanks to Knock Off, making it easier for Onix to sweep. Powerful special wallbreakers such as Vullaby and Cutifly also make for valuable partners for Onix, as they're able to break through physically bulky Pokemon such as Mudbray and Timburr, also making it easier for Onix to sweep.

Set seems fine.

Scorbunny is liable to be extremely uncommon, wouldn't recommend it for setup targets. Vullaby's a better choice.

Onix isn't really OHKOed by Fighting-type moves (ex: 236+ Atk Farfetch'd-Galar Close Combat vs. 76 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Onix: 14-20 (66.6 - 95.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO), it just takes a ton and shouldn't be put against fighters if at all possible, better to remove the "OHKO" specific and just explain that it's a bad matchup.

Gastly isn't really a great choice to be switching in on Fighting- or Ground- types because of how frail Gastly is and since Fetch'd has Scrappy and Drilbur has Mold Breaker. This doesn't mean it's a bad partner, just that it's not a good partner because of its immunities, it's more along the lines of helping break for Onix and vice versa.

Chinchou isn't an ideal Pokemon for taking on grounds for obvious reasons, would suggest cutting that specific mention.

Ferroseed should get somewhat more of a spotlight in the second paragraph due to its resistances to Water and Grass, as well as providing Knock Off support for DD cleaning later.

Onix is a powerful sweeper in LC thanks to having access to Dragon Dance and STAB EdgeQuake coverage in Earthquake and Head Smash. In earlier stages of the game, Onix should look at either dishing out damage with Head Smash as Rock Head prevents recoil damage and it 2HKOs virtually anything that doesn't resist it or taking advantage of the amount of switches that it forces by setting Stealth Rock. Body Press can be used as a a nice alternative as it takes advantage of Onix's high Defense stat and hits targets that resist Head Smash such as Ferroseed and Timbur for more damage than Earthquake would. Once the opposing team has been worn down sufficiently, Onix should take the opportunity to set up on Pokemon that are unable to KO it in one hit such as Galarian Ponyta or Mandibuzz u mean vullaby here and then proceed to sweep through teams with either Head Smash or Earthquake. also idk abt this tip in particular, esp if youre using onix as your rocker. it doesnt play like, say, shellder where u just wanna set up and sweep, u can still use it as a bird check or utility or whatever throughout the game. id use more specific matchups rather than "set up if it cant delete u"

theres also not much focus on eq. why run it if body press is stronger vs neutral targets? give specifics, seeing as how its essentially coverage even w stab
