Hi,
I'm working making a OHKO Calculator. The image below shows the steps I take to isolate the attacking stat to one side of the equation:
I tested by using Calyrex Shadow Rider as an example. I found that to OHKO a Calyrex Shadow that has full investment in Special Defense (328) and HP (404) with a Stab Shadow Ball (80 base power) and low roll (85%) a special attack of 377 is needed to OHKO. Pokemon Showdown's Calculator says a Special attack stat of 381 is needed at minimum to guarantee a OHKO. The next image shows me plugging in numbers.
((25*328*404)-(50*328*5.1))/(21*80*5.1)=376.88 or round up to 377
The next Image is a screen shot of Showdown's Calculator.
As you can see it does not agree with my calculation. Does anyone have any thoughts about why this is? I plugged my 377 attack back into the original damage equation and got 404 which is Calyrex's HP.
