[SET]
Swords Dance (Ogerpon-Wellspring) (F) @ Wellspring Mask
Ability: Primordial Sea
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Ivy Cudgel
- Power Whip / Horn Leech
- Knock Off / Play Rough / Trailblaze / Spikes
[SET COMMENTS]
Fantastic STAB coverage, a solid Speed tier, and good coverage options all make Ogerpon-W a force to be reckoned with, being able to shatter most of the tier's physical walls such as Corviknight, Gholdengo, and Mandibuzz after a Swords Dance. Power Whip packs more of a punch, letting it OHKO RegenVest Manaphy without a Swords Dance boost, while Horn Leech grants it more longevity. Knock Off lets it threaten Desolate Land users such as Iron Moth, Ceruledge, and Heatran, while Play Rough picks off Dragon-types such as Roaring Moon, Dragonite, and Latios. Trailblaze enables Ogerpon-W to act as more of a sweeper, letting it outspeed threats such as Iron Boulder, Chien-Pao, and Deoxys-S, while Spikes can be used to help chip down Hisuian Goodra and other walls for its teammates. Ogerpon-W pairs well with fast cleaners such as Iron Boulder and Choice Scarf Roaring Moon, as they appreciate its ability to pressure Fluffy users such as Corviknight and Great Tusk thanks to Ivy Cudgel not making contact. In spite of its solid speed, Ogerpon-W is still threatened by faster targets such as Chien-Pao, Choice Scarf Azelf, and Roaring Moon, making defensive pivots such as Corviknight and Swampert crucial in order to bring it in safely.
