Kommo-o is an unorthodox wallbreaker and setup sweeper that can blow past certain team structures with ease while also providing its team with notable defensive utility thanks to its typing and ability. However, Kommo-o's terrible matchup versus the tier's common Fairy-types such as Clefable and Tapu Lele limits its utility and means it requires significant support to be a consistent choice. Clanging Scales combines with Kommonium Z to give Kommo-o access to Clangorous Soulblaze, a powerful Z-Move that also boosts all of Kommo-o's stats one stage and notably OHKOes Great Tusk and Offensive Landorus-T after Stealth Rock. Close Combat is preferred for its power, notably OHKOing Heatran at +1 and improving damage rolls into Melmetal and Mega Diancie. Drain Punch, although much weaker, gives Kommo-o some form of recovery and can let it heal off damage it may have taken while setting up on Pokemon such as Ferrothorn. Flamethrower hits Corviknight, Gholdengo, and Mega Scizor, preventing them from reliably trading with Kommo-o. Kommo-o is a decent Stealth Rock setter, as it dissuades common hazard removers such as Great Tusk, Terapagos, and Landorus-T from directly switching into it thanks to its Z-Move. Taunt is another option that allows Kommo-o to shut down Pokemon like Toxapex, Gliscor, and Galarian Slowking that might try to stop it via status or Haze. Clangorous Soul lets Kommo-o set up boosts reliably against teams with a Fairy-type, although it still won't sweep them easily as Fairy-types like Tapu Lele, Clefable, and Tapu Fini can still take Kommo-o's boosted moves fairly comfortably. Additionally, while setting up both is potentially devastating, it is often difficult to do so and unnecessary in a lot of situations due to Kommo-o's power at +1 often being sufficient. The other two moves are therefore often preferred. Bulletproof makes Kommo-o immune to Ball moves, which is very useful against foes such as Mega Charizard Y and Gholdengo variants lacking Make it Rain, since it lets Kommo-O effectively counter them, turning them into setup fodder.

Kommo-o's threatening nature lets it fit well on offensive teams that want to keep the pressure on while appreciating Kommo-o's ability to check Hisuian Samurott, Mega Charizard Y, and Heatran. Kommo-o struggles greatly against Fairy-types such as Mega Diancie, Tapu Lele, and Clefable, as they easily block its Z-Move while not being appreciably threatened by its coverage moves. Teammates that can take advantage of these Fairy-types are therefore required. Steel-types like Gholdengo, Melmetal, and Corviknight can come in on these Fairy-types and turn them into progress via exerting significant offensive pressure from the former two or pivoting out and gaining momentum with the latter. Gholdengo also assists Stealth Rock variants of Kommo-o by blocking Rapid Spin and Defog attempts from Terapagos, Tornadus-T, and Zapdos. Kommo-o in turn can switch into Fire-types such as Mega Charizard Y and Heatran, who threaten these Steel-types. Frail wallbreakers and cleaners, such as Iron Valiant, Urshifu-R, and Choice Scarf Tapu Lele love Kommo-o providing defensive utility on top of keeping up the offensive pressure for its teammates. Taunt variants work especially well with these teammates, as Kommo-o becomes adept at breaking down defensive cores consisting of Pokemon such as Toxapex, Gliscor, and defensive Landorus-T for these faster teammates. Kommo-o's access to Stealth Rock is useful for these offensive teams, as they sometimes struggle to fit Stealth Rock setters elsewhere, and they don't mind Kommo-o's limited longevity preventing it from setting up Stealth Rock multiple times over the course of a longer game. It notably frees up a moveslot on teammates such as Ferrothorn, Heatran, and Landorus-T. Hyper offense teams can often afford the Clangorous Soul variant of this set, as they generally have a dedicated lead devoted to setting hazards up. Teammates such as Iron Valiant, Roaring Moon, and Kingambit often fit on these teams and can pair with Kommo-o to exert immense offensive pressure on the opposing team and beat down their shared checks such as Tapu Lele, Clefable, and Toxapex.

Kommo-o is an unorthodox wallbreaker and setup sweeper that can blow past certain team structures with ease while also providing its team with notable defensive utility thanks to its typing and ability. I think it is worth highlighting some flaws here, namely Fairy-types, which can make it very team specific. Clanging Scales combines with Kommonium Z to give Kommo-o access to Clangorous Soulblaze, a powerful Z-Move that also boosts all of Kommo-o's stats one stage. Outside of the Z-Move, Clanging Scales acts as a relatively spammable and consistent STAB move. Feel like this is mostly filler, unless there’s calcs that can show Kommo-o can wallbreak. Close Combat is preferred for its power, notably OHKOing Heatran at +1 and improving damage rolls into Melmetal and Mega Diancie. Drain Punch, although much weaker, gives Kommo-o some form of recovery. Flamethrower hits Ferrothorn, Gholdengo, and Mega Scizor hard. Clangorous Soul can give Kommo-o an additional +1 boost to all stats on top of its Z-Move. This also lets Kommo-o set up boosts reliably with a Fairy-type on the opponents team, although it won't beat most of them without significant chip damage even after boosting. Additionally, while setting up both is potentially devastating, it is often difficult to do so and unnecessary in a lot of situations, making the other two moves preferred in this moveslot. Bulletproof makes Kommo-o immune to Ball moves, which is very useful against foes such as Gholdengo, Mega Charizard Y, and Galarian Slowking, as they commonly run these moves as their main STAB moves.

Kommo-o's threatening nature lets it fit well on offensive teams that want to keep the pressure on while appreciating Kommo-o's ability to check Gholdengo, Mega Charizard Y, and Heatran. I think Hamurott is worth a mention here, I would prefer it over dengo since you only threaten that with Flamethrower while it can MIR Kommo-o struggles greatly against Fairy-types, as they easily block its Z-Move while not being appreciably threatened by its coverage moves. Teammates that can take advantage of these Fairy-types are therefore required. Steel-types like Gholdengo, Melmetal, and Corviknight can come in Tapu Lele, Mega Diancie, and Clefable and turn them into progress. Gholdengo also assists Stealth Rock variants of Kommo-o by helping to dissuade Rapid Spin and Defog attempts. Kommo-o in turn can switch into Mega Charizard Y and Heatran, who threaten these Steel-types. Frail wallbreakers and cleaners, such as Iron Valiant, Urshifu-R, and Choice Scarf Tapu Lele love Kommo-o providing defensive utility on top of keeping up the offensive pressure for its teammates. Kommo-o's access to Stealth Rock is useful for these offensive teams, as they sometimes struggle to fit Stealth Rock setters elsewhere. I would mention which setters are freed to run other moves thanks to Komo-o running SR. Kommo-o itself appreciates these team's fast pace of play, as it doesn't have the longevity to set them back up consistently over the course of a longer game. Might be worth mentioning non-SR sets make good HO teammates, or mentioning more HO specific guys in this paragraph could work as well.

Drain Punch, although much weaker, gives Kommo-o some form of recovery mention how this lets kommo make up damage taken from setting up vs stuff like ferro. Flamethrower hits Ferrothorn already nuked by cc so its not its main function, would rather mention corviknight, Gholdengo, and Mega Scizor, (AC) hard preventing them from trading with Kommo-O reliably "hard" is kinda vague esp when cc is still p strong. Clangorous Soul can give Kommo-o an additional +1 boost to all stats on top of its Z-Move. This also filler lets Kommo-o set up boosts reliably with a Fairy-type on the opponents team against teams with a Fairy-type original was clunky, although it won't beat most of them without significant chip damage even after boosting won't sweep as easily due to the significant chip damage after boosting again original was clunky to read. Additionally, while setting up both is potentially devastating, it is often difficult to do so and unnecessary in a lot of situations why?, making the other two moves preferred in this moveslot. Teammates that can take advantage of these Fairy-types are therefore required. Steel-types like Gholdengo, Melmetal, and Corviknight can come in Tapu Lele, Mega Diancie, and Clefable and should mention these when you first said *** "Fairy-types" turn them into progress. Gholdengo also assists Stealth Rock variants of Kommo-o by helping to dissuade shutting down "dissaude" sounds like ghold is punishing them for clicking it when in reality it just stops it from happening altogether Rapid Spin and Defog attempts from who?. Kommo-o itself appreciates these team's fast pace of play, as it doesn't have the longevity to set them back up consistently over the course of a longer game. feels kinda irrelavant to bring up esp if u mention HO right after Hyper offense teams can often afford the Clangorous Soul variant of this set why and how. Teammates such as Iron Valiant, Roaring Moon, and Kingambit often fit on these teams and can pair with Kommo-o to exert immense offensive pressure on the opposing team elaborate more this is too vague.
