It's official, the first NU Friend League is happening!!! NU Friend League aims to highlight new players, community members, and allow for folks to try out new tiers, have fun, and team with new people to form lasting friendships.

Why would you be a good manager? (Prior experience + any other additional details):

Managers will be selected based on their activity in the NU community, be it in forums or in Discord. Tournament experience will also be taken into consideration, as well as your overall behavior and history.

Despite an assistant manager being not mandatory, if you're a player with no prior managing experience, you should have someone to help you during the tournament. This will also be taken into consideration when selecting the managers.

Only one of you or your co-manager can self-buy for 13k.

RULES:

  • Current managers in NUPL CANNOT manage in NU Friend League, however they are free to sign up as players.
  • Players already in NUPL are encouraged to sign up for NUFL, but cannot play SV NU in NUFL if they were in their NUPL teams' starting lineup for SV NU by the end of Week 3 of NUPL. Subbing in mid-week does not count.
  • For oldgens, players in NUPL can't play an oldgen tier in NUFL for which they have played at least one game in NUPL by close of NUPL Week 3 (Weeks 4+ do not matter for this). This includes subbing in to play that tier.

The amount of teams will be TBD and decided upon based on signups, however we can reveal that the format for the first ever NU Friend League will be the following:

SV NU x4 / SS NU x1 / SM NU x1 / ORAS NU x1 / BW NU x1 / DPP NU x1 / ADV NU x1 / GSC NU x1 / RBY NU x1

(We're willing to consider Bo3 x1 over one SV NU slot if there is a lot of demand for it)

Why would you be a good manager? (Prior experience + any other additional details): i play rby exclusively and i dont think todd has ever played pokemon ever but we'd bring a really good vibe to the tournament and we'd have a fun team environment

i actually have played pokemon before and if it helps to sweeten the deal i can bring my own link cable

Why would you be a good manager? (Prior experience + any other additional details): I'm still pretty new to NU and Smogon in general, and know firsthand that it's incredibly difficult to go from someone casually playing ladder to breaking into the tournament scene, and want to give that opportunity to more players.

Why would you be a good manager? (Prior experience + any other additional details): have managed in a plethora of team tours with solid results (Multiple renditions of BWPL and ZUPL, ZUOL, an OMPL many eons ago) and have experience with the NU community as a player in team tours
