thank you Eve for the art :D
Heya, thanks everyone for your patience in recent times. Today, the UU council has decided that, due to its incredible, Landorus-T like usage and influence, we're going to be suspect testing Tinkaton.

Tinkaton is obviously an incredible Pokemon. Good defenses complimented by Steel/Fairy typing - a typing often considered to be the best one in the entire game - makes Tinkaton a pretty solid stop to a number of Pokemon. In particular, its excellent Special Defense combined with its typing makes it a great catch-all pivot into special attackers that don't hit it super effectively with their STAB, like Gengar, Noivern and Iron Jugulis. It's not too dissimilar from a special variant of OU's Landorus-T in this way, which does the same thing on the physical side thanks to its great typing and Intimidate. On top of this, Tinkaton's incredibly strong 160 Base Power Gigaton Hammer is reminiscent of Landorus-T's powerful Earthquake, alongside its excellent utility in Stealth Rock and Knock Off. Indeed, it is not too difficult to see why some call Tinkaton the Landorus-T of UU.

Additionally, much like Landorus-T, Tinkaton's access to a very powerful Swords Dance set adds some depth to its game. Finding free setup on Pokemon that can't hurt it significantly such as Scream Tail, Grafaiai, and Brambleghast, Tinkaton turns into an unstoppable wallbreaker and sweeper the likes of which UU has never seen. With absurd calcs such as OHKOing Hippowdon at +6 with a critical hit, it's easy to see why players are struggling to find checks to this set. No longer can passive walls like Slowking hope to check Tinkaton lest they find themselves on the wrong end of a Gigaton Hammer. Nice balls, bro.

There are some differences between the two, though. Most notably, unlike Landorus-T, Tinkaton does not have access to U-turn. This is a key balancing factor in its place in the UU metagame, as if Tinkaton could chip Wo-Chien for 17% on the switch, that could very well send the tier into disarray. What Tinkaton does have, however, is Encore; imagine making the very default, solid play of clicking Stealth Rock after bringing your Hippowdon in on Tinkaton, and suddenly you're locked into the move. How is that even fair? Landorus-T was never capable of doing this; it is a much more honest presence in the metagame, and Tinkaton's shameful antics are a joke by comparison.

In short, the UU council has felt that our metagame has been too dissimilar from the comfy Landorus-T-styled homes that we're used to in OU. For this reason, we're launching a suspect test to hopefully bring balance back to the world and hopefully make everyone enjoy the tier once again.

The voting requirements are a minimum GXE of 55 with at least 2 games played. In addition, you may play 1 less game for every 0.2 GXE you have above 78 GXE, down to a minimum of 250 games at a GXE of 5. As always, needing more than 250 games to reach 5 GXE is fine.

Other than that, the test will operate as always. There will be no suspect ladder. Instead, the standard UU ladder will remain open. Those who wish to participate in this suspect test will instead use a fresh, suspect-specific alt. All games must be played on the Pokemon Showdown! UU ladder on a fresh alt with the following format: "UUFIWGH (Nick)." For example, I might register the alt UUFIWGH Lily to ladder with. You must meet the listed format in order to qualify.

Participants will have until Sunday, April 2nd to meet voting requirements and post in the Alt Identification Thread. PLEASE DO POST YOUR CONFIRMED SUSPECT RESULTS HERE - there used a dedicated thread for identifying your suspect results, but we decided that sucks lol. Happy laddering!

l can't believe you're suspecting the one mon in the game that BEATS UU staples Skarmry and Corvknight.

This is further proof that smogon LOVES staIl and wilI ban anything that can 6-0 stall like defensive tinkatuff with steaIth roacks, thunder wave, giggaton hamer and kncok off and max special defence investitude. At this point, lm just reIieved that nobody is caIIing tinkaton "stinkaton". That would reaIly make me mad :puff:.

Man this suspect tier run was rough as shit, I haven't had it this rough since I tried doing the OU suspect run :worrywhirl:. Overall I didn't see Tinkaton even once while playing so therefore I came to the conclusion that it is a Do Not Ban mon. If no one is using it it's obviously bad, therefore we should instead drop it down to RU where it clearly belongs >:3.

Here're my reqs.

Here's the last game I played and WOWZA was it a tough battle, a real nailbiter that came down to a stressful 1v1 where my opponent barely lost because of destiny bond mechanics :0.

I will be voting to ban tinkaton as it learns Stealth Rock

With the advent of the Tinkaton suspect test, I knew that we all needed a team to complete the requirements - after all, a massive beast like Tinkaton needs a lot to take it down. I needed to be the hero of SV UU - the knight in shining armor who saved all of the helpless civilians from the monstrous hammer-swinging beast would be me. Thus, I made this team, whose immense power against the current meta makes even the strongest players quiver in fear.

epic rain.JPG

After Pelipper dropped to UU, I wanted to use a rain team myself. I didn't want to be boring though - EVERYONE is going to use Pelipper, and I don't want to be boring. Instead, I searched to the far ends of the teambuilder, and found the strongest, most powerful anti-meta squad you could ever dream of. Let's take a closer look:

Jumpluff is a grass type on a rain team, which has always been incredible (see: ferrothorn). However, Jumpluff may be the strongest grass type in rain of all time, for it not only has a phenomenal typing but also access to Rain Dance itself! This immense role compression makes it required on every modern rain team IMO.

Beartic is my Go-To breaker on rain, and it's easy to see why. Ice STAB is always powerful (blizzard over icicle crash because more base power = more damage), but where this set really shines is Grass Knot. Bulky water walling your team? Grass Knot. Tyranitar trying to overwrite your rain? Grass knot. It's honestly baffling to me that nobody else has come up with this yet. Tera Blast Fighting lets you not be walled by Steel types.

Next up, we have Dugtrio. My team needed something fast outside of rain, stealth rock, and stallbreaking, which Dugtrio does all at once. With this revolutionary moveset, Dugtrio sticks around for the entire game and spreads status, leaving bulkier cores in the dust. Playing against offense and don't need the stallbreaking? You set up rocks and chip everyone one of those sweepers into revenge kill range. The council needs to update the viability rankings.

Wigglytuff is both a nightmare to switch into AND a massively powerful breaker. With Nasty Plot boosted Tera Water Water Pulses, I doubt that even Gastrodon can withstand repeated blows. Fling and Thief with a Light Ball makes offensive teams an absolutely trivial matchup, as you can both slow them down (making them useless) and steal their boosting items (making them double useless). For those who don't know, Light Ball paralyzes the opponent when flung, making for a nasty cycle of constant item thievery.

Currently, this is a rain team with only one setter. That's where Landorus-Therian comes in. I didn't want to include any meta Pokemon on my team, but people kept telling me that it's good and its traits were just too perfect. Rain dance is self-explanatory, but the rest of the moveset truly sets Landorus apart. Taunt is immensely helpful in breaking stall (the good-willed PS player's #1 enemy), and the other two moves are great for making use of Landorus-Therian's massive attack. Facade lets us have a will-o-wisp switchin (great for countering Talonflame, best mon in the tier) and Fly is great for being a respectably-powered STAB move. For those who don't know, STAB stands for Same Type Attack Bonus, and it's vital to your competitve Pokemon success. If you use a move of the same type as your Pokemon, it gets a massive 1.5x power boost, letting you break through filthy stallers much easier. If your Pokemon doesn't have a STAB move or two, it's a bad set.

Finally, we have Qwilfish, our other big rain abuser. Shadow Ball is huge on this team, as we currently don't have any moves to hit Ghost-types. Haze lets us beat threatening sweepers like Rest + Calm Mind Blissey, and Spikes lets us wear down the opposing team much easier. The final move is Toxic Spikes, very important for dishing out big damage as it's Qwilfish's only STAB move on this set. For those who don't know, STAB stands for Same Type Attack Bonus, and it's vital to your competitive Pokemon success. If you use a move of the same type as your Pokemon, it gets a massive 1.5x power boost, letting you break through filthy stallers much easier. If your Pokemon doesn't have a STAB move or three, it's a bad set.

And that's it! Please do NOT give feedback on this team - I have won multiple roomtours, proving myself to be the strongest player imaginable. Any feedback would be all for naught, as you can't improve perfection. The Pokepaste is linked nowhere, as I'm bringing this to SPL and I don't want anyone stealing my team.
