No More Worries: A RU Hyper-Offense Team

Welcome to my RMT. This team has been quite successful for me, putting me 37th on the RU ladder with an ACRE of 1869. After witnessing AcroBlimp Drifblim tear through many a team in NU, I realized "Hey, this can work in RU too" and that there was another Unburden 'mon with sweeping power: Hitmonlee. So I started the teambuilding process here.

Teambuilding Process:

Here we have the two sweepers.

This is hyper offense. We need hazards. Only one pokemon can lay down all the hazards and not be too detrimental to our strategy. He is Smeargle.

So we've got hazards and sweepers. Now we need something that has power from the get go. Magmortar fits the bill. He has great coverage and power and few pokemon can survive his wrath.

Ok. The team is coming together nicely, but bulky waters are being huge problems. There's only one 'mon who effectively deal with all bulky waters. That 'mon is Rotom-C.

After adding a fire type and a grass type, figured I'd add a water type to make a FWG core. So I added SpecsKing to dish out the damage and add some bulk to the team.

So after some playtesting, I realized Slowking wasn't pulling his weight and replaced him with Kadabra. Kadabra is fast and hits hard, and capitalizes on hazards and switches.

Kadabra works decently, but I'm considering using Swellow.

In-Depth Explanations:

Smeargle@Focus Sash
EVs: 252 HP/ 4 SDef/ 252 Speed
Trait: Own Tempo
Timid Nature
-Stealth Rock
-Spikes
-Spore
-Destiny Bond

Smeargle is great at putting up hazards. I usually lead with him, but if I see Cinccino or a fast taunter, I lead with Rotom-C. He guarantees at least 2 layers of hazards and usually can put something to sleep or get an unexpected KO with Destiny Bond. Smeargle can be used as a sacrificial switch-in late game when he no longer useful. Because of his weakness to Taunt, I'm considering replacing Destiny Bond with Magic Coat.

Drifblim@Flying Gem
EVs: 252 Atk/ 4 SDef/ 252 Speed
Trait: Unburden
Adamant Nature
-Acrobatics
-Substitute
-Will-O-Wisp
-Destiny Bond

Drifblim is so underrated. Flying Gem+STAB Acrobatics is extremely powerful and activates Unburden, which allows Drifblim to punch holes in offensive teams. After the speed boost from Unburden, Destiny Bond can be used to to defeat the switch-in if Acrobatics can't OHKO. Drifblim usually takes at least 2 pokemon down with it, using a combination of STAB Acrobatics and Destiny Bond. Drifblim also serves a second purpose as a spinblocker for the team. When combined with Hitmonlee, their counters will fall, allowing one of them to sweep.

Hitmonlee@Normal Gem
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 Atk/ 252 Speed
Trait: Unburden
Adamant Nature
-Fake Out
-Hi Jump Kick
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake

Using Hitmonlee is quite simple. Switch in, use Fake Out, and deal large amounts of damage. Fake Out+Normal Gem guarantees that Unburden will activate. Hitmonlee serves as my main counter to rain teams as he can use Fake Out and outspeed all their Swift Swim sweepers. The listed moves give great coverage. Hitmonlee needs no setup to sweep, but Ghost types and physical walls must be weakened or eliminated before sweeping. As a result of his weakness to ghost types, I'm considering adding Pursuit or Sucker Punch to remove them.

Magmortar@Life Orb
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 SAtk/ 252 Speed
IVs: 30 Atk/ 30 SAtk
Trait: Vital Spirit
Timid Nature
-Flamethrower
-Thunderbolt
-Hidden Power (Grass)
-Focus Blast

Magmortar is a very powerful special attacker with great coverage. LO allows him to hit harder. Not much can switch into Magmortar and his coverage can wreck just about anything. His only weaknesses are faster pokemon that can KO him easily, like Cinccino. Magmortar also provides a safe switch in to Amoonguss, Smeargle, and Lilligant, as he can absorb their sleep inducing moves and OHKO them back.

Rotom-C@Choice Scarf
EVs: 252 SAtk/ 4 SDef/ 252 Speed
IVs: 30 Atk/ 30 Def
Trait: Levitate
Modest Nature
-Volt Switch
-Leaf Storm
-Hidden Power (Ice)
-Thunderbolt

Just a standard Rotom doing standard Rotom things. It KOes every bulky water in RU, from Slowking to Lanturn to Alomomola, that could hinder a Hitmonlee sweep. It has flawless coverage and keeps momentum with Volt Switch. Nothing but Amoonguss can safely switch into one of his attacks without taking large amounts of damage. I'm considering replacing Thunderbolt with Trick, but the ability to use a STAB electric move without switching has served me well.

Kadabra@Focus Sash
EVs: 4 HP/ 252 SAtk/ 252 Speed
Trait: Magic Guard
Timid Nature
-Psychic
-Signal Beam
-Encore
-Energy Ball

Kadabra hits hard and ignores all passive damage, allowing it's Focus Sash to stay intact. Psychic hits hard, Signal Beam hits Dark types, and Energy Ball hits Waters and Rock types. Encore can lock an opponent into a useless and force switches, which racks up damage with hazards. He was the closest pokemon I could that counters hail as their poison and weather do not hurt him. He also hits hard and really helps KO a lot of threats, specifically defensive pokemon that can be locked into useless moves.

Conclusion:

This team is quite easy to use and I hope you enjoyed my take on Hyper-Offense in RU. It's nowhere near perfect and I'd appreciate all rates. It can struggle against teams with extremely bulky cores with Regenerator and Laturn/Bouffalant cores.

EDIT: This team has a major weakness to hail. It's record is 32-3 with all 3 losses from Hail teams (I'm looking at you, fever dream).
