New Drapion Set!

While I was building a team I needed a Breloom counter. I also needed a Physical Wall. I looked up on Serebii's Top 100 Defense Stat list and I needed a Pokemon with very few weaknesses. I saw Drapion, with good Defense and OK HP I looked at it's move-pool. It could learn Sleep Talk and Rest. I added it to my team and it has worked wonders against Breloom and other Physical Sweepers.

[SET]
name: Sleep Talk
move 1: Knock Off
move 2: Cross Poison / Fire Fang / Aerial Ace
move 3: Rest
move 4: Sleep Talk
item: Leftovers
ability: Battle Armor
nature: Impish
evs: 252HP / 6ATK / 252DEF

[SET COMMENTS]

Rest and Sleep Talk are the usually Heal and Hit combo. It works so Breloom's Spore really wont hurt that much. Knock Off is great from hindering Physical Sweepers and other switch ins trying to counter him. Cross Poison is mainly their for a solid STAB and Poison hax. Fire Fang hits Steels that might switch in to Wall you. Aerial Ace is for Heracross and a very good move to stop Breloom.

DAMAGE CALCULATIONS:

(All are done with the following EVs and IVs: 31 Att IVs and 252 Att EVs with +Attack Nature, while Drapion is 252 HP/ 252 Def with max IVs with +Defense Nature)

(More coming, these are just quick ones that are Supper Effective)

Salamence + Life Orb Earthquake - 63.66% - 75.00%
Salamence + Choice Band Earthquake - 72.97% - 86.05%

Tyranitar + Choice Band - 72.67% - 85.47%

Garchomp + Choice Band Earthquake - 106.69% - 125.58%

More Damage Calcs coming!

70HP and 110 Defence aren't...
Well, they're neither okay nor good.
I mean, you're getting 2hkoed by everything you listed there, while not having remotely close to good enough Attack to do much in return. I mean, with your EVs it's not even an OHKO with Aerial Ace on a 4HP/0Def Breloom.

Not to mention Rest is so unreliable... You rest, get hit, sleep talk, and die.

Thumbs down from Boa.

I don't see how those damage calcs on Sala/Tar/Chomp are relevant here, since it's all stuff Drapion shouldn't be facing in the first place (and which he can't clearly wall).
Using only one of those attacking moves will end up biting you in the ass as you'll be easily walled (besides all of them having low BP).
I think you'd be better off with the defensive Drapion from the analysis or just stick with the SD attacking versions, which I think are better, if you're to use Drapion.

At the very least you should have recognized that the standard Breloom is 239 speed and that with 0 EVs Draion is 226 speed, and therefore have made this Drapion faster than Breloom. There is no way you're beating Breloom with any regularity when it does 52-62% with Focus Punch and is faster then a Drapion who must rely on a 33% chance to break Breloom's Sub.

And the rest of your calculations are really not that pertinent — Drapion may resist Rock and Dark from Tyranitar and be faster than the Adamant, 221 speed one, but ti still will not fare very well as a counter, and pretty much every Salamence and Garchomp beat this Drapion every day of the week.

I appreciate the attempt to promote discussion here, but this honestly isn't very good.

In addition, why are you doing the [SET]
[SET COMMENTS] thing? That is markup for the SCMS. Did you really think that helped people read analyses?
