Tera Type: Water / Fairy / Poison
Adamant Nature

The Dragon we all know and love, and well to be entirely honest at times, hate and cuss out, has been not dying to attacks you think should KO it for has it really been almost 8 years now? Time flies unlike Zygarde who sits on its fat ass for days unlike its sprite would imply. Zygarde is most commonly seen running its coil set and having you confirm on Bulbapedia that paralysis indeed does have a 25% to proc as it freely boosts. This cycle we will be building with some lesser used, but nonetheless potent sets!

Z Zygarde was a common set back in SM that sees little use today. Grounduim Z is listed because it will be allowed as an option for those who want to use it. However, this set primarily utilizes Dragonuim Z as it prevents Zygarde from being revenged by Ditto as Dragon Tail loses its negative priority when used as Devastating Drake. Trapper Zygarde is one that we have all had the misfortune of running into and subsequently losing. Though a potent trapper it can be inconsistent at times. However, should it get that trap off on the right target the game is likely over on the spot. I'm looking forward to seeing how y'all can utilize these uncommon Zygarde sets! The deadline for submissions is 08 April 05.00.

Groundium Z Dragon Dance Zygarde Hyper Offense

:sv/deoxys-speed: :sv/zygarde: :sv/arceus-fairy: :sv/necrozma-dusk-mane: :sv/eternatus: :sv/yveltal:

Deoxys-Speed sets up hazards for the rest of the team while denying opposing hazards to help Yveltal from taking Stealth Rock damage. Zygarde can setup with Substitute and Dragon Dance to sweep paired with its high bulk, with Groundium Z to help nuke pokemon like Primal Groudon, Zacian-C and Support Arceus Formes. Arceus-Fairy helps against Yveltal and Arceus-Dark being able to freely setup on them with its bulk and Taunt. Necrozma-DM helps against stall teams while forming a Dragon-Fairy-Steel core with Zygarde and Arceus-Fairy, with Weakness Policy easily breaking through fat balance teams after a single boost. Eternatus hits Ho-Oh which helps Arceus-Fairy while having good speed control for the team, and absorbing TSpikes for Zygarde. Yveltal offers a form of priority while dealing with Pokemon like Marshadow and Defog users for the team.

The main threat against this team is Play Rough Zacian-C but with Tera Fire Eternatus and keeping NDM healthy it's not impossible to manage.

Dual Trapper Offense

:pmd/zygarde: :pmd/gothitelle: :pmd/arceus-fairy: :pmd/yveltal: :pmd/groudon-primal: :pmd/kyogre-primal:

Who needs Xerneas when we have Arceus-Fairy ? This team focus on the incredible ability of Zygarde and Gothitelle to trap and remove crucial pieces of the metagame like Primal Groudon, Ho-Oh, Necrozma-DM, and Eternatus. Once these core defensive pieces are removed, it leaves the way open for Arceus-Fairy, which can easily clean a weakened team. Choice Scarf Yveltal offers a crucial speed control against key threats, in particular Ultra Necrozma and Zacian-C, which are devastating against this team. Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre finish this team, completing a defensive backbone for this team and offering a safe option against Marshadow, Arceus-Fairy, and Arceus-Ground.

Congratulations to Eledyr for winning with Dual Trapper! He truly is a wolf in wooloo's clothing!

:sv/ho-oh:
Offensive (Ho-Oh) @ Heavy-Duty Boots / Choice Band

Adamant Nature

- Brave Bird / Earthquake
- Earthquake / Defog
- Whirlwind / Toxic / Thunder Wave
Every now and then somebody reminds you that Ho-Oh has 130 Attack and high powered moves. Sometimes they will be a lunatic that throws on a Choice Band and it actually works fairly well. 2HKOing the most common rocker in the tier certainly makes keeping rocks off easier one would think. The ban of Xerneas has freed Ho-Oh up and I'm excited to see how y'all utilize it! The deadline for submissions is April 15 19.00 GMT

Introducing...
Big Stall™

:pmd/sableye-mega: :pmd/ho-oh: :pmd/arceus-dark: :pmd/dondozo: :pmd/chansey: :pmd/giratina:

5 more minutes mom. This team features classic members of a stall team; Chansey and Dondozo forms an amazing defensive core capable of dealing with the classic offensive entries of the tier. Giratina complete this core, offering Defog support and a sturdy answer to mixed variants of Primal Groudon. Mega Sableye offers a great option to deal with common entry hazards lead like Deoxys-S and Smeargle. Ho-Oh here functions as an active, strong wallbreaker that allow progress against many staples like Arceus-Fairy, Eternatus, and Necrozma-DM. Finally, Arceus-Dark covers specifically Mega Mewtwo formes and Yveltal, two threats that this team can struggle against. I advise anyone using this team to use your Tera cautiously, as strong wallbreakers like Marshadow, Ultra Necrozma, and Mega Mewtwo Y can break your defensive core if not used correctly.

Congratulations to Eledyr for winning with his Dual Trapper Team (voting was close /s)! After a haitus it is good to be back! Most of the regulars who submit teams were involved in seasonals and trios so with those wrapping up the teambuilding competition should be back to to its regular schedule.

Arceus-Water is held back signficantly by being an Arceus forme. It is an excellent Pokemon in a vacuum, but competition from other Arceus formes lead to Arceus-Water being the ugly duckling of the 'good' Arceus formes. Arceus-Water offers a great blend of offensive and defensive utility which is both a blessing and a curse.

The power level of NDUbers generally demands more role compression than Arceus-Water is able to provide with just four moveslots. Though Arceus-Water is solid defensively, teams looking for a defensive Arceus forme generally opt for Dark or Fairy as they are both sturdy checks to threats such as Ultra Necrozma and LO Yveltal respectively. Arceus-Water is a softer check to a lot of these threats, but generally requires support or Tera to do so while also facing competition from defensive Arceus-Ground sets which is in a similar boat.

Offensively, Arceus-Water is arguably the second best Arceus forme. Primal Groudon blanking Judgement blows but that isn't particularly difficult to wear down or remove. When free to spam Judgement Arceus-Water is not easy to handle defensively as Water/Ice coverage chunks the whole tier except for Water types and Ferrothorn.

All in all Arceus-Water is an excellent pokemon that requires some support. I'm looking forward to see how y'all support Arceus-Water or use Arceus-Water to support other mons! The deadline for submissions is 13 May 12.00 GMT.

:splash-plate: ARCEUS-WATER BULKY OFFENSE :splash-plate:
:sv/arceus-water: :sv/zacian-crowned: :sv/zygarde: :sv/groudon-primal: :sv/giratina-origin: :sv/marshadow:

A bulky offense team with Calm Mind Grass Knot Arceus-Water helping threaten out Pokemon like Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon, Arceus-Ground, Dondozo and opposing Arceus-Water. Zacian-C helps with the Dragon-types like Eternatus and Mega Salamence that may try to take advantage of Arceus-Water, appreciating the latter beating Ho-Oh and Dondozo for it while it beats Ferrothorn and Chansey in return. Zygarde offers Glare support and a sturdy switch-in to Marshadow, Mega Salamence, offensive Primal Groudon and Ho-Oh, with Tera Fairy over Tera Water since Calyrex-I and Melmetal are handled by Arceus-Water anyways. Eruption Primal Groudon is a very powerful wallbreaker helping overwhelm checks such as Giratina-O and opposing Zygarde alongside Arceus-Water, while also being a major issue for stall teams to handle properly and offering Stealth Rock support. Contrastingly, Giratina-O provides this team with Defog support while being a powerful attacker overall. Lastly, Marshadow can assist in wallbreaking or act as a end-game cleaner once everyone has done their work, as well as having Shadow Sneak priority.

:arceus-water: :necrozma-ultra: :groudon-primal: :marshadow: :zacian-crowned: :yveltal:

A hyper offense team with a little bit of defensive merit behind it. Arceus-water uses a defensive Calm Mind set, to act as a bulky wincon for this team, as well as a solid defensive check to Calyrex-Ice, offensive Ho-Oh, and Primal Groudon. The Ultra Necrozma set is there to help chip and break through dragon types for Arceus-Water, and as a potential erase something button in Light That Burns The Sky, if the opponent doesn't have a dark type. It is also a potent lead Pokemon, as it has a very significant edge against Glimmora, Primal Groudon, etc. by alternating between NDM into Ultra form. Primal Groudon uses it's set for similar reasons; to set up Spikes against mons that could switch into it, and chunk opposing dragons and waters with Overheat. Additionally, it threatens out the majority of hazard removers that aren't Giratina-Base, and chunks the more commonly used Giratina-O with Overheat. Marshadow is the most consistent wall breaker and revenge killer on this team, and also greatly appreciates the hazards set by Primal Groudon and Necrozma. Tera Ghost, with the combination of Spikes and Stealth Rock, can make it nearly impossible to switch into with just a little bit of hazard chip. Zacian-C is fairly standard here, it is helpful for dealing with the dragon types that Arceus-Water can struggle with, and I opted for Tera ground so this team has a bit of a easier time dealing with Eternatus. Zacian-C is also without a doubt great in the endgame, sometimes it just needs Play Rough and that's it. The last mon, Yveltal, is there to act as an emergency button for Ekiller with Tera steel, and can also remove hazards if needed (usually against toxic spikes). It is also well appreciated as a pivot for this team, and with this it could act as a secondary lead.

We've finally reached the point where I am relatively clueless about what a Pokemon does. Sami provided a Choice Specs set and Neon mentioned an AV set last week on discord. Dialga has been a mainstay of our polls for a while and has frequently only been one or two votes off but it is finally time for it to step into the spotlight. This is normally where I'd have a few sentences discussing the niche the Pokemon has, but I'm at a loss for words. I'm looking forward to seeing what y'all can do and if you can #savedialga from dropping next time I post some VR noms! The deadline for submissions is 20 May 13.00 GMT.

Say hello to Scarf Dialga + Grasseus balance
:pmd/dialga: :pmd/groudon-primal: :pmd/giratina-origin: :pmd/arceus-grass: :pmd/necrozma-dusk-mane: :pmd/alomomola:

This team has a slow pace and focus on chipping the opposing team slowly, with the defensive core composed of Primal Groudon, Giratina-O, and Alomomola, forming a very resilient core with the access of an heal which increases drastically the lifetime of Giratina-O and Primal Groudon. Arceus-Grass helps specifically as a fast, utility support that can scare away key targets in Primal Kyogre, Arceus-Ground and Primal Groudon lacking a Fire coverage. Necrozma-DM functions as a late game sweeper, capable of breaking through weakened target like Eternatus, Arceus-Fairy, and Giratina-O. Finally, Dialga is here as a form of Speed control which helps against the likes of Yveltal, Marshadow, and Mega Mewtwo formes.

Have fun using it! #savedialga

Interesting round for sure, i hope we get more people tuning in since this is a pokemon that could do a lot of different things with its great movepool and interesting stats and typing - the hard part still is finding something that does feel viable. Here is the take i had on it:
:dialga: :eternatus: :alomomola: :groudon-primal: :marshadow: :arceus-dark:
This is a relatively old team, built before the Xerneas ban (Dialga was heavy slam back then). AV Dialga lets us running a more offensive spread on Groudon, as it is a decent check to P-Ogre, and also enjoys wish support from alomomola, which also supports P-Don. Otherwise this is just a hazard stack team, which enables AV Dialga as a threat with dragon tail. I forgot why the marsh here is adamant tbh, i probably wanted stronger shadow sneaks for some reason.

Double Choice Dialga + Marshadow Bulky Offense

:sv/dialga: :sv/marshadow: :sv/zygarde: :sv/groudon-primal: :sv/ho-oh: :sv/arceus-fairy:

The combination of Specs Dialga with Band Marshadow lets this team quickly overwhelm the defensive backbones of many team structures, with these two pressuring common switch-ins such as Arceus-Fairy, Ho-Oh, Eternatus and Primal Groudon. Dialga's Trick not only differentiates it from Eternatus, letting it disrupt fat balance and stall matchups, but its power combined with Dialga's superior offensive stats make up for its poor speed; this speed is made up for by Zygarde's Glare, while it also offers as a neat Primal Groudon, Mega Salamence, Necrozma-DM and Physical Arceus formes switch-in, as well as being a decent status absorber in longer games thanks to rest. Primal Groudon offers valuable hazard support to help overwhelm and remove key parts of the opponent, while being moderately threatening with Swords Dance, but still being able to handle Pokemon such as Zacian-C and offensive Arceus-Fairy for the team. It also appreciates Dialga being a soft check to Primal Kyogre, which both of these two can pressure even Defensive sets pretty well. A more offensive Ho-Oh spread was preferred here since I didn't like the slow nature of the typical defensive set, as well as baiting in and heavily damaging Eternatus with Earthquake being very valuable since Marshadow can always revenge-kill it later on, while Ho-Oh can still provide hazard control with Defog due to its natural bulk. Lastly, Arceus-Fairy further disrupts balance and stall teams alike thanks to Taunt, while offering more hazard support in Stealth Rock, and being a good switch-in to Yveltal, Arceus-Dark and with Tera Poison, Alomomola and even Ho-Oh.

I felt obligated to make some team to submit and it turns out that mola + a mon w/ no recovery is not exactly a unique idea. I also wasn't sure what item to go with and realized that scarf, specs, and AV have already been done. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel with Dialga so just slapped it onto a team I was already working on.

Is this team good? Probably not. Does it have Dialga on it? Yes. EV wise, the speed outspeeds Zygarde and Tera Steel has a good chance to OHKO Tera Fairy Zygarde after rocks. The SpD makes LO Yveltal Dark Pulse a 3HKO after Stealth Rock. The Def lets Dialga live Precipice Blades from defensive Primal Groudon. I was too lazy to think of other benchmarks so I chucked the rest in SpA. It seemed pointless to spend more time on it when Bobsican is going to come up with the best EV spread whenever that analysis comes around anyways. It isn't a good team, but it doesn't lose to Zygarde.
