Toxapex @ Eject Button
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 248 HP / 212 Def / 48 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Recover
- Scald
- Haze
- Toxic
Thanks to its massive overall bulk and Regenerator, Toxapex serves as a sturdy pivot in National Dex that can stand up to threats like Mega Lopunny and Mega Scizor. It makes use of its Eject Button either offensively to safely switch into a more threatening teammate or defensively to bring in a check to the opposing Pokemon. Scald threatens to punish Pokemon that can switch into Toxapex, like Ferrothorn and Garchomp, with a burn. Haze prevents sweepers like Dragapult and Sneasler from taking advantage of Toxapex's passivity to set up on it. Toxic can wear down opposing walls or weaken offensive Pokemon to clear the way for your own offensive threats. While it's not often Terastallized, Toxapex can use Tera Dragon to remove its weaknesses to Ground- and Electric-type moves. Due to its passive nature, Toxapex pairs well with more offensively-oriented teammates, such as Gholdengo and Iron Valiant, that can break through defensive foes, and in turn appreciate Toxapex's ability to easily switch into stronger attacks. Additionally, Pursuit trappers such as Kingambit, Weavile, and Mega Tyranitar make excellent use of Toxapex's pivoting to easily remove Pokemon like Dragapult and Gholdengo.
