Welcome to my National Dex Same Trios Tournament!

Hello everyone! In this double elimination tournament, players participate in teams of three (trios) with each teammate playing one of the following formats: Same Solo/Same Duo/Same Six. Same Solos and Same Duos will be best-of-three each while Same Six will be best-of-one. Each round has different sets of Pokemon while each set in Solo and Duo within a round have different Pokemon. These formats are popularly played as roomtours in the Tours Minigames room on PS! The Trios winning two battles will proceed to the next round!

PS: free agents can choose to equip a desired team name by simply posting it below/sending it to me on any platform given all members agree to it.​

Rules to be followed:
  • Players can use a different variant of the same species of mentioned Pokemon (eg. Persian-alola for Persian/Ampharos-mega for Ampharos) but not a different species of Pokemon that evolve from the same species (eg, Perrserker!=Persian)
  • Mega-Evolutions can be used in all formats, Z-moves can only be used in Same Six (banned in Solo and Duo) and Terastalization is banned in all.
  • Hidden Power is also banned in all game modes.
  • Read and use the challenge codes for better understanding of bans/unbans and to prevent mess-ups.
  • Same Solos and Same Duos are best-of-threes and linear sequence should be followed in between sets (eg. g1 Decidueye, g2 Scizor, d3 Slowking) meanwhile Same Sixes are best-of-ones.
  • Tournament Battles are to be played on Pokemon Showdown.
  • Follow all applicable Smogon Tournament Rules and General Guidelines, including but not limited to rules against ghosting, timer/disconnect clauses, and activity calls.
  • You must upload and post replays when claiming wins.
  • The Trio winning two battles proceeds to the next round.

Silly question probably but are mega pokemon locked to holding their mega stone (ie swampert holding swampertite in same six and aggron holding aggronnite in same duo)?

Wait is this for real sundaes? in draft leagues megas are always locked to holding their stone so this is very unusual to me. I'm down but just wanna make 100% sure about it.

100% real lmao, this isn't dl; this is how stuff in done in tours minigames and besides having variations possible makes the tour more fun imo

First time so this is a little confusing, but from what I see me and my opp have to choose the same mon when starting the match, right?
