National Dex 1v1 aims to readd all Pokemon cut from SS and SV into a 1v1 format! Have you ever been interested in playing 1v1 but the pool of Pokemon felt too narrow? National Dex aims to fix that by reintroducing every Pokemon from prior gens into a new metagame! Each Pokemon will have access to moves they lost through transfer, held items like Mega Stones, Z-Crystals and the like. Being a 1v1 metagame, Dynamax and Terastallization are banned.

Mega Metagross is banned!

By unanimous council vote, Mega Metagross has been banned from the tier. :metagross-mega:


Mega Metagross was very constraining in the builder and even worse in game. Although it seems not much changed for it, the additions of Heavy Slam and Body Press to its movepool have allowed it to run more defensive investment and less Attack, providing it the ability to use even more alternative sets and spreads. This higher overall bulk commonly makes it significantly harder to take down after an Iron Defense, made worse by a Tough Claws Body Press. Often, Pokemon that seem to boast a favorable matchup simply get statchecked, with either its absurd bulk, its naturally high Attack, or its incredible Speed.
While it did have its share of hard counters, the level of constraint it held over the entire rest of the tier not named Ghostium Dragapult, Spectrier, Bulk Up Urshifu and non-Choice Band Victini have led to its ban for the unreal amount of limitations it imposed on teambuilding.

Mega Blastoise, after gaining just one significant move, has ridden that extra move to stardom. Shell Smash gave it a staggering +2 Special Attack and Speed while often not suffering the penalty from dropped defenses due to its decent bulk in combination with middling Speed. Despite its unimpressive Special Attack by the metagame's standards and aforementioned average Speed, Shell Smash would instantly fix both of these problems, leaving very little counterplay to Pokemon hit at least neutrally by its coverage. The standard Smash / Cannon set is uniquely representative of how strong it is, as it already takes on a decent chunk of the tier, with Mega Launcher-boosted Aura Spheres, Dragon Pulses and Dark Pulses ready to fire for other matchups it may need. However, additional coverage such as Ice Beam, Hidden Power varieties, and even Counter and Mirror Coat make it considerably more challenging to beat reliably, to the point where we have decided to ban Mega Blastoise.
