Mega Diancie

Teambuilding Proccess:

http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20141119231114/pokemon/images/1/15/719M.png[/IMG] I really wanted to make a Mega Diancie team. Mega Diancie is a very scary `mon and almost always a threat. Followed by the ability Magic Bounce, it is a very good lead, even without using Stealth Rocks on it.

719M.png

The biggest threats of Diancie are Ferrothorn, Scizor and Mega Metagross. I didn`t want to give Diancie HP fire because I needed that 350 speed to tie with Gengar, Lati@s and other 110, positive speed nature `mons. Magnezone was the choice here as it can trap Ferrothorn and Scizor and 1v1 them with HP fire. I chose Scarf over Specs because my team is very weak to Mega Metagross, so it can outspeed it.

I had a ground weakness, therefore I needed Celebi. Celebi has amazing base stats, good typing and good movepool. I chose Nasty Plot + Baton Pass so it can pass to Diancie +2 or more SpA. increase, making Diancie an absolute beast.

Serperior is so annoying to my team. Therefore, a bulky attacking Talonflame was my choice here. It taunts Ferrothorns and other support `mons and set-up Swords Dances on them and hit them with full-power priority Brave Birds and even recover health with priority Roosts.

Stealth Rocks are the biggest counter to Talonflame, as it can reduce a half of it`s HP as soon as it switches in. I also had a problem with Pursuit trappers so Starmie was the choice here. I chose the Reflect Type set due to my Pursuit trappers weakness. It can counter them very easily, thanks to it`s amazing base 115 speed. It can Reflect Type quickly and them spam scalds at Pursuit trappers, with hopefully burning them.

The two things that my team misses are a tank and a Stealth Rocks setter. Garchomp was my choice, because it can deal lots of damage in every contact that the foe is making with it. It has amazing bulk, typing and movepool.

The team in-depth:

200px-719MDiancie.png

Diancie-Mega @ Diancite
Ability: Magic Bounce
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 32 Atk / 224 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Diamond Storm
- Moonblast
- Earth Power
- Protect

Diamond Storm - Nobody likes Tornadus and Talonflame.
Moonblast - Diancie likes dealing with Dark/Dragon/Fighting `mons.
Earth Power - It also needs a move to deal with steel types :).
Protect - Explained before.

200px-462Magnezone.png

Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Flash Cannon

Volt Switch - An electric move that hits hard `mon that resist it and gives you the switching advantage.

Thunderbolt - When you are not afraid that the opponent switches in a Ground `mon, this is your choice!

Hidden Power [Fire] - The main reason why I chose it. Trapping Ferrothorn and Scizor and 1v1ing them with HP fire helps Diancie a lot!

Flash Cannon - Dealing with `mons that Electric/Fire moves don`t work so well against them.

200px-251Celebi.png

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 148 Def / 108 Spe
Bold Nature
- Recover
- Baton Pass
- Giga Drain
- Nasty Plot

Recover - Restoring HP, useful at bulky `mons.
Baton Pass - Passing stat changes and scouting for a switch.
Giga Drain - Dealing with Rotom-W and Keldeo, while restoring HP at the same time. It also takes full advantage of the Nasty Plot.
Nasty Plot - Boosting SpA. and allows Celebi to hit hard and pass these useful stat changes at the same time.
200px-663Talonflame.png

Talonflame @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Swords Dance
- Taunt

Brave Bird - Hitting hard.
Roost - Restoring HP.
Swords Dance - Set-up on taunted support `mons.
Taunt - Taunting support `mons and then set-upping on them.
200px-121Starmie.png

Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 16 SpD / 244 Spe
Timid Nature
- Reflect Type
- Scald
- Rapid Spin
- Recover

Reflect Type - Countering Pursuit trappers.
Scald - Burn!!!
Rapid Spin - Talonflame appreciates Rapid Spin as it gets rid of Stealth Rocks.
Recover - Recovering HP back.
200px-445Garchomp.png

Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 76 SpD / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail
- Toxic

Stealth Rocks - One of the best moves ingame.
Earthquake - A strong STAB attack.
Dragon Tail - Dealing even MORE damage to `mons weak to Stealth Rocks.
Toxic - Shuts down Slowbro and other walls.

Threats:
Scarfed Landorus-T: Can be countered by Garchomp, but the rest of the team is weak to it. At least I can somehow deal with it by scouting which move it goes for with Diancie`s Protect.

Mega Metagross - Destroys my team :(.

Replays:
http://pokemonshowdown.com/replay/ou-261650116 - A battle
http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-262246603 - A really close one, I thought I would lose
http://pokemonshowdown.com/replay/ou-262388939 - Against a really good enemy

I am in the lower ladder because I haven`t played much PS since the ladder reset :(.

Importable:
Diancie-Mega @ Diancite
Ability: Magic Bounce
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 32 Atk / 224 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Diamond Storm
- Moonblast

Hi there!

Although I think you need to explain your EV spread on your mons and stuff, I think this is a pretty nice, standard team, but I believe you should fix some things to make it even better. You can kill Metagross with Starmie + Garchomp + Magnezone and Scarf Lando scouting a bit, although it is a bit tricky to combat.

First, you don't really need to change any mons here, but the main thing I'm concerned most about is opposing Diancie, as it comes in and tears appart any mon that you have there. That's why I encourage you to run a different spread on Celebi to counter Diancie, and for that I use this one:

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 88 Def / 136 SpD / 36 Spe
Calm Nature
- Giga Drain
- Nasty Plot
- Baton Pass
- Recover

This takes every hit a Diancie wants to throw at you, and it also lets you deal with Keldeo much better that your current spread.

For Talonflame you should just use the 248 HP, 252+ SpDef and 8 Speed set, because you don't really need that much attack to pull off a late game sweep anyway.

Finally, you should use a 252 HP, 164+ Def and 92 Speed spread on Garchomp and a 240 HP, 16 SpDef and 252+ Speed spread on Starmie, since those are the best for the job you've chosen them to do.

Hope this helped and GL with your team!

As Mega Venusaur is a great threat you can't actually deal with, you can give Starmie Psyshock over Reflect type. Psychic on Celebi can be cool, but Giga Drain is more helpful in most situations; you can even try Psychic on Diancie, as you have Magnezone for Steel-types and Earth Power is a must only for Heatran you can deal with thanks to Starmie.

Then, I think you should keep your original spread on Garchomp because you can switch into breloom with ease thanks to Celebi, you have Diancie to prevent Custap Skarm from setting up (iron head versions are kinda rare because Brave Bird allows to act as a suicide lead better) and Bisharp isn't that problem even if you don't outspeed it, whilst resisting hp ice from the most common Electric-types is greatly appreciated because Signal Beam Raikou can put your team into troubles. Try also out endure on Garchomp over Toxic because Mega Gyarados and Lopunny are great issues which can potentially sweep you after Dragon Dance and Power-Up-Punch, although the latter must be wary of Talonflame. For the rest, I agree with Alastor Law's suggestions, hope I helped and good luck with your team!

Honestly, Mega Diance is too slow to be that weak to anything,i think instead of that you should use this set

Madoka (Diancie) @ Diancite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 172 HP / 252 SpA / 84 Spe
Mild Nature
- Diamond Storm
- Moonblast
- Earth Power
- Rock Polish

Its 4x weak to steel which is a very bad thing considering how prevalent scizor, and even if they didnt have a scizor theyd most likely have something fast to counter it like a bisharp and or water or grass.

I don`t really want to choose Psyshock over Reflect Type, because:

0 SpA Starmie Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Mega Venusaur: 110-132 (30.2 - 36.2%) -- 41.9% chance to 3HKO

And then I die to Venusaur`s Giga Drain.

If I run Max SpA. and Life Orb it does:

252 SpA Life Orb Starmie Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Mega Venusaur: 179-213 (49.1 - 58.5%) -- 98% chance to 2HKO

And then I die to a Giga Drain...

I don`t really want to run Psychic on Diancie because it acts very good in late game sweeping - Diamond Storm takes out `mons such as Talonflame and other birds and/or specially defensive `mons, Moonblast is for those who resist to eat and even Slowbro and Earth Power is for Excadrill (assuming it is not a scarfed `drill).

I will however run Endure over Toxic in the Garchomp.

Thanks for replying!

And then again,

Honestly, Mega Diance is too slow to be that weak to anything,i think instead of that you should use this set

I already have Magnezone to deal with Scizor. Scizor really likes to switch-in when my Celebi is on the field, then, Baton Pass out of there to Magnezone, trap him, and kill it with HP Fire. I suppose I have more speed in my Celebi than a bulky scizor (even a mega one) so I can just baton pass out of there :). Thanks for replying!

I will change the EV spread to what you said, except for the Garchomp. Thank you very much for replying!
