Hello,I am Lialiabeast and this is my first time posting a RMT.I am posting a ND Monotype team because it is the tier I have been playing the most and I believe I am familiar with the meta. Here is a Fighting team with Mega Gallade that helped me climb up the ladder.
THE TEAM:
Gallade-Mega (M) @ Galladite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Zen Headbutt
- Triple Axel
Mega Gallade is the main reason why I decided to build a Fighting team. Its access to STAB moves,Swords Dance and the high Attack stat makes a great wallbreaker for every Fighting team.Mega Gallade is pretty much the main attacking threat as if it sets up Swords Dance it becomes really dangerous for some teams. Also thanks to its Psychic type,Mega Gallade can be a check for Poison teams and specifically threats like Mega-Venusaur,Toxapex and Galarian-Weezing.Triple Axel is there because I face many Dragon and Ground teams on the ladder so I wanted to have coverage.
Cobalion @ Leftovers
Ability:Justified
Evs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
-Stealth Rock
-Thunder Wave
-Iron Head
-Taunt
After choosing Mega-Gallade as my main attacking force,I figured that I had to cover for Fighting weaknesess.Best Pokemon for the job,in my opinion,is Cobalion. Its Steel-typing allows it to take Psychic,Flying and Fairy attacks without a problem. Also I thought it would be nice to have a Stealth Rock lead in order to help Mega-Gallade sweep later in the game.Cobalion's Speed combined with Taunt helps me prevent specific Pokemon from setting hazards such as Galvantula and Thunder Wave cripples threats like Volcarona.
Kommo-o @ Kommonium Z
Ability:Bulletproof
Evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
-Clanging Scales
-Flamethrower
-Aura Sphere
-Taunt
Another Pokemon that can setup and benefit from Stealth Rock is Kommo-o,thanks to its unique Z-move in Clangorous Soulblaze.Kommo-o is the sweeper of the team that can harm most teams in the metagame. It also has access to Taunt, which can be used to prevent Pokemon like Mantine and Toxapex from using Haze and clearing the stat-boost.I am using it as a special sweeper because the choices of having a special Fighting sweeper are not too many(except for Keldeo which I will explain later).Kommo-o's Dragon typing is appreciated by Cobalion due to the fact that it can take Fire-type attacks.
Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
Evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
-Hydro Pump
-Scald
-Hidden Power Electric
-Sacred Sword
Another Pokemon that can take Fire-type hits for Cobalion is Keldeo. However, that is not the main reason I have picked it for my team. The reason why I picked Keldeo is the fact that it is one of the few Fighting-type special sweepers in the metagame. It is also a really good wallbreaker that can deal with Pokemon that are too much for some members of the team, such as Skarmory and Mandibuzz.Hidden Power Electric is there for the same purpose dealing with walls such as Mantine that can absorb Hydro Pump and Scald.
Hawlucha @ Power Herb
Ability: Unburden
Evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
-Defog
-Sky Attack
-High Jump Kick
-Acrobatics
After settling with the main members and threats,I thought it would be good to have a Defog user because there are many hazard setters in the metagame, such as Shuckle with Sticky Web and Stealth Rock.Hawlucha is great option for this role,as it is one of the few Fighting-type Pokemon that can learn Defog and it has great Speed stat. Its Flying-type is appreciated since it provides Ground immunity and can use Defog ignoring Sticky Web.Hawlucha, also, serves as really decent cleaner later in the game thanks to Unburden and its STAB moves, dealing mostly with Grass-type Teams that are defensive and can be a problem for the team and also Bug teams that resist Fighting-type attacks.
Terrakion @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
Evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
-Stone Edge
-Close Combat
-Earthquake
-Iron Head
Terrakion is a teammate that appreciate Hawlucha's immunity to Ground. However, the reason that it is here is its ability to deal with Flying-types,having access to Stone Edge which is a powerful STAB move.Choice Scarf combined with the STAB moves that it runs (Earthquake,Close Combat etc) makes Terrakion a great sweeper. With this set it is capable to outspeed serious threats for the team such as Mega-Lopunny.Earthquake also helps Terrakion and the rest of the team dealing with Poison types that some members struggle with, such as Galarian-Slowking.
THREATLIST:
Tapu Koko is fast threat, that without Terrakion,it can really harm the team.Even though I have Cobalion to deal with it,it almost dies everytime to Thunderbolt+Electric Terrain.
Galar-Corsola can cripple most of the team with Will-o-Wisp and Strength Sap and also has the Fighting immunity.
Azumarill, after setting up,is a nightmare for this team as it can clear almost everything.Kommo-o outspeeds, but it can't do much to Azumarill even after the Z-move,so it ends up getting killed.Only way of dealing with Azumarill is with Keldeo using Hidden Power Electric and hope it kills.
There may be more threats to the team that I have not noticed yet,but for now these three are the only ones that gave me a hard time.
