Ceruledge @ Focus Sash
Ability: Weak Armor
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bitter Blade
- Poltergeist
- Shadow Sneak
Ceruledge slices through Monotype as a fearsome sweeper on Ghost teams thanks to a combination of Weak Armor, a strong form of recovery that deals damage, and priority. Focus Sash provides Ceruledge a free turn to set up. This, combined with Weak Armor, allows it to turn dangerous threats like Meowscarada and Gallade into a sweeping opportunity. Bitter Blade provides Ceruledge excellent recovery and is useful against troublesome Dark teams, notably dealing with Kingambit. Poltergeist turns foes' items against them, dealing loads of damage and OHKOing bulky Pokemon such as Pecharunt, Kyurem, and Primarina at +2. Also at +2, Shadow Sneak is a powerful priority move that prevents threats such as Dragapult, Flutter Mane, and Choice Scarf Iron Boulder from revenge killing it. Ceruledge can struggle to break past physical walls such as Mandibuzz, Great Tusk, and Dondozo, so Flutter Mane pairs well with it. It also struggles to set up if its Focus Sash is invalidated by entry hazards, so Rapid Spin Brambleghast is an excellent teammate. Ditto can easily copy Ceruledge's boosts with Imposter and reverse sweep with Shadow Sneak. Hisuian Zoroark is a great teammate, as it is an excellent answer to Ditto thanks to its immunity to Shadow Sneak.
