Choice Scarf Passimian is an excellent method of speed control in the RU tier: it is able to revenge kill dangerous threats such as Toxicroak, Espeon, and Dragon Dance Scrafty, whilst also offering a decent amount of utility with its access to Knock Off and U-Turn. Close Combat is its STAB move of choice - complemented by Knock Off, Passimian can damage the majority of the tier at least neutrally. The extent of Knock Off's utility is not to be understated; removing the items off Pokemon like Tangela and Mantine can quickly turn the tide of a game. Earthquake is the preferred option in the third slot; nailing the likes of Toxicroak, Dragalge, and Salazzle - alternatively, Gunk Shot can be used to nail Choice Specs Gardevoir and Silvally-Fairy, but is generally inferior. Rounding off Passimian's moveset is U-Turn, which allows it to generate momentum for its teammates. Defiant is the chosen ability; allowing Passimian to punish Defog users such as Sigilyph and Mantine.
Good teammates for Passimian are other users of pivoting moves such as Dragalge and Heliolisk; allowing Passimian's team to consistently retain momentum. Other great team options include Pokemon that benefit from Passimian's pivoting to bring them in safely: for instance, Golisopod, Inteleon, and Exploud. Spikes setters, such as Klefki and the aforementioned Golisopod, also work well with Passimian because Passimian can deter the use of Defog. Since Passimian will often want to clean with Close Combat, powerful wallbreakers that can weaken Passimian's checks like Gardevoir, Golurk, and Barraskewda work well with it. Lastly, Psychic-types in Sigilyph, Indeede-F, and the aforesaid Gardevoir pair extremely well with Passimian - they benefit from Passimian's ability to beat the likes of Copperajah, Umbreon, and Gigalith - whilst also profiting off of its pivoting.
