Intro:
Hello and welcome to my 3rd RMT. Seeing as ORAS is coming out and pretty soon all my teams will become obsolete I wanted to do another RMT, but looking at my teams I felt that none of them was good enough to actually put in the effort of RMTing. So I decided to something a little bit different and make an RMT of my RU Conquest team. The concept behind conquest is simple, start off with 2-3 Pokemon of varying degrees of viability, make a team with E rank or lower mons on the viability rankings, and then challenge other users for their Pokemon, a link to the RU Conquest thread can be found [thread=ru-conquest-won-by-omfuga.3518669/]here[/thread] if you would like more detail. After RU Conquest finished early I started to use the team in a bunch of room tours and turns out that it isn't half bad against more serious teams, there are a couple of things I pretty much just straight up lose to because the team wasn't made to account for those specific threats but other than that its a pretty solid fun team.

Teambuilding Process:

So it started off with Leer giving me both Doublade and Chatot to start off with. I got lucky with Doublade in that I got an S rank mon right off the bat (it was S rank at the time) and one of the best spin blockers in the RU metagame. Chatot I wasn't really sold on to begin with, I hate confusion, but the nice thing was is that they snyergize incredibly well together accounting for each others weaknesses.

Seeing as Doublade is the biggest cock block to Hitmonchan in RU and seeing as how I had Doublade meaning no one else could use it I decided to put Hitmonchan on my team. Hitmonchan is one of my favorite Pokemon to use in RU and I say fuck all of the haters lol. It is also in E rank meaning that I was allowed to put it on my team. Please note I did not have access to "better" fighting-types such as Hitmonlee, Gurdurr, and Hitmontop.

I got the best spinblocker in RU so the only logical step when building my team was to add a spike setter. I knew I wanted to have a Toxic Spike user and of the ones available Garbodor was the best. It also gave me a way to check physical attackers as a suicide mon with contact moves.

Next I needed a Stealth Rock setter and something to check Psychic and Fire-types, Probopass fit that role incredibly well being able to set up rocks and volt switch out for momentum.

Last mon I was pretty undecided about, but I love priority and Kangaskhan was becoming a favorite abuser of it at the time, seeing as RU unranked it (idk why lol) I went with a standard set.

The Squad:

doublade_gijinka_by_garbagekeeper-d6o2f1j.png

Doublade @ Eviolite
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 212 HP / 252 Atk / 44 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Shadow Claw
- Shadow Sneak
- Swords Dance
- Iron Head
Standard Doublade is standard, it obviously found a place on my team because I was given it to start off with. But aside from that it is a fantastic Pokemon in RU being the premier spinblocker in the tier while functioning as a check to multiple physical Pokemon, and it maintains an offensive presence with Swords Dance and Shadow Sneak. I generally just end up using Doublade for spinblocking and not sweeping but against bulky Psychic-types it is my way to get past bullshit like sub cm cress.

pokemon_chatot_silvestre_by_sorocabano-d4icoi4.jpg

Chatot @ Leftovers
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Chatter
- Nasty Plot
- Boomburst
- Encore
I was originally annoyed at having Chatot on my team (ironic right lol) because I hate confusion bullshit and didn't wanna be one of those players who relied on it, at the beggining I didnt have much of a choice in viable Pokemon so I put it on till I got something better. But after using Chatot extensively it has actually greatly impressed me with the utility it provides and the amount of synergy it provides my team. Encore is amazing because after predicting a ground type move or Stealth Rock I switch in Chatot on their Stealth Rock setter, a lot of the time the rock setter will have a Rock-type move or will want to pivot out with U-turn (Gligar), Encoring them into a useless move I then can either set up late game for a sweep or Chatter on the switch to have a chance to bring in a check on the opponents Pokemon unscathed due to confusion, bullshit I know lol.

hitmonchan_by_cle2-d5qzp7l.png

Hitmonchan (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Mach Punch
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Thunder Punch
So everyone is like Hitmonchan is so bad omg lol bandwagon its terrible etc. etc. but to all those people I say fuck the haters. Hitmonchan actually is not that bad of a Pokemon in the RU metagame, its just outclassed by other Fighting-types. So like I said above the biggest cock block to Hitmonchan in RU is Doublade because Hitmonchan was unlucky enough to not get Knock Off, but seeing as I got Doublade that ment no one else would have it on their conquest teams and Hitmonchan would tear it up. I decided to go with coverage as opposed to spin because I really didn't feel like I needed to worry about hazards to much and being able to hit threats like Gligar and Slowking on the switch for a 2HKO is great. I really hope Hitmonchan drops down to NU so all the RU bandwagon haters can stop hating lol.

Garbodor @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Gunk Shot
- Drain Punch
Garbodor is really an amazing underrated Pokemon in the lower tiers, it provides amazing support with both types of spikes, rock helmet, and aftermath. I went specially defensive so as to better check special threats, if the opponent doesn't have a poison type I will lead with this to try and get up toxic spikes as soon as possible. When I get down to about 12% I save it to be used as death fodder and to deal 40% ish through recoil of the helmet and aftermath to the opposing physical Pokemon rendering a ton of things easily revengeable.

pokemon_Probopass1%2B%25E5%2589%25AF%25E6%259C%25AC.jpg

Probopass @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Volt Switch
- Power Gem
- Toxic
After placing a spike setter on my team I needed a rock setter and I also needed it to be specially defensive, Probopass fit both of those roles and also had an awesome mustache lol. Toxic is incredibly important to be able to wear down bulky sweepers that would otherwise be able to set up all over my team. It also makes a fantastic hard counter to fletchinder and a nice check to Moltres, being able to set up rocks and then power gem and KO them. Volt switch is for gaining momentum and allows Probopass to be a good pivot on this team.

115___kangaskhan_by_socra91-d57zhfp.jpg

Kangaskhan (F) @ Silk Scarf
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 160 HP / 252 Atk / 96 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out
- Double-Edge
- Sucker Punch
- Drain Punch
This thing is ridiculously good, being able to 2HKO multiple things with Double-Edge and having amazing dual priority with Sucker Punch and Fake Out. I went with Silk Scarf to power up my normal moves which should be spammed if they have a lack of a normal resist. Drain Punch seems to work better in RU and gets them tasty HPs back. Overall Kanga is a solid check to any set up sweepers with Dual Priority and finds its way on to a lot of my teams.
Threatlist:
051.png

Dugtrio is a massive threat to this team as I have a pretty big ground weakness and it can obviously trap and take out a large part of my core. I pretty much just straight up lose to this because any competent player can win with a Dugtrio vs this team. When building in RU Conquest I didn't face the person with the Dugtrio so I never needed to adjust my team to compensate for this weakness.

Poison-types
While Poison-types don't threaten me in particular they absorb Toxic Spikes and make it harder to wear down bulky teams. (I need a dugtrio of my own lol)

488.png
+
199.png

Cresselia is a pain in the ass and can set up all over my team, I usually have to go into Doublade to check it. Slowking is a pain to deal with as it can get a burn on Probopass and nothing really switches in comfortably, the good thing is that Hitmonchan can 2HKO or even OHKO it with prior damage with Thunderpunch which very few people expect.

Other Options:
This is important, when rating this team and suggesting other options I would like to try to keep with the spirit of RU Conquest so you can only suggest things I have won and E rank Pokemon or unlisted Pokemon.

So Uxie, Tangrowth, Durant, Rotom, and Delphox are all of the Pokemon I had a chance to win before Leer shut conquest down prematurely. You may also suggest Pokemon who aren't listed or are in E rank on the RU viability rankings which can be found [thread=ru-viability-ranking-v2-final-update-until-oras.3516783/]here[/thread]. I was considering changing up for some of the good pokes I got but overall my team synergized fairly well so I thought don't mess with it if it aint broke.

Shoutouts:
Gonna pull a Dat Blast and say I'll do one for a 2k post if that ever comes about, tbh I wanna post this and don't have to much time to go through and tag ppl.

Conclusion:
So overall this has been a really succesful team both in Conquest, where it went undefeated, and in tour games where it has done some massive work. With ORAS coming around the corner I figure its time to retire this team and actually build a proper RU ORAS team. Thanks for reading!

if you swap hitmonchan for hitmonlee your threatlist become a lot less able to switch in
