SS Doubles OU Mind Blowing Power

So I discovered this great semi sun team thingy and I think it could use some improvement. Please place your comments down to help

Blacephalon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Mind Blown
- Dark Pulse
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball

So Blacephalon is supposed to just use Mind Blown with Torkoal setting up the sun. It does massive damage. To ensure at least 1 hit, I scarfed it so it can strike first. Beast Boost will set it up for another hit after at least 1 faints.(If one mon faints) This will do more damage and cause a great start.

Torkoal @ Heat Rock
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Body Press
- Eruption
- Solar Beam
- Earth Power

Torkoal isn’t meant to fight, but just to set up the sun. However, it can use Body Press or Eruption repeatedly to do at least some damage. It also somewhat benefits from trick room by going first but that isn’t its main goal. It is meant to create that Fire boosting weather.

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Eruption
- Earth Power
- Flash Cannon
- Heat Wave

Heatran is meant to take the Mind Blowns and spam Eruptions. Eruptions with Flash Fire is good without sun as well, but with sun it does a crapload of damage. I decided to scarf to keep Eruption doing max damage as long as possible. I considered specs but it will probably get hit with a ground type move, killing it.

Dracovish @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Strong Jaw
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fishious Rend
- Crunch
- Outrage
- Psychic Fangs

Dracovish is basically here to just switch in whenever I need a switch in. Fisheous Rend and Scarf do massive damage, and again, I am aware of Banded Dracovish. I want Dracovish to strike first though and do damage to opposing mons. Its annoying to go against, and most people don’t counter it really well...

Incineroar @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Fake Out
- Darkest Lariat
- Drain Punch
- Flare Blitz

It is here to intimidate but I am looking for a mon to replace this mon. Idk who though, but Incineroar is doing ok so I guess I’ll look for a similar mon that can resist water, or ground. My team is vulnerable to that. Just a solid incineroar...

Gengar @ Choice Specs
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dark Pulse
- Shadow Ball
- Psychic
- Sludge Bomb
,
MAX DAMAGE OUTPUT. He is here to attack as well, playing a similar role as Dracovish. Switch in, kill as much as possible. I like Gengar because he’s speedy and can do massive damage with specs.

Threatlist:

Water Types!
4 mons are fire types and only Dracovish resists it. They just take out Dracovish and I go not alive. Dracovish can’t kill them either because I ususually choice lock onto Fisheous Rend so the damage output isn’t that big.
Other Weather Things
Namely Tyranitar and Drizzle. These mons kill my mons easy. I don’t have a single rock/ground resist and water types(see above). I have no idea how to counter these mons.

Thanks for helping a worthless child and um… Stay Healthy I guess...

I also have a hard time dealing with other flash fire users, so if somebody could tell me how to deal with that, I would appreciate it!

Hi! Unfortunately, without significant changes, your team is not competitively viable. Sun is currently not the best in the metagame. While it was solid during DLC-1, Diancie, Tapu Fini, Volcanion, Zygarde, and other Pokemon have returned in Crown Tundra that are extremely strong against Sun and make it a generally subpar option. In the ongoing Doubles World Cup of Pokemon, Sun (which I am loosely defining as Sun Setter + Abuser) has 2.67% usage.
As shown by the replays, the combination of Torkoal + Lilligant is the only sort of sun core that has shown any success. Furthermore, the rest of the team is never actually "sun". Demantoid's team featured Fullroom, while SMB / Tuononda's team featured no other sun abusers.

Overall, my point is that Sun is an already super uncommon playstyle, and the only version of it that actually sees success is Torkoal + Lilligant along with four other non sun abusers.

Your team is completely different. Dual sun scarfers (Blacephalon and Heatran) is redundant, Dracovish is weakened by Sun (since it only wants to click Fishious Rend) and there is no need for a third scarf user, Incineroar is a good Pokemon but certainly not the Life Orb variant, and Gengar is bad and doesn't synergize at all.

All the replays you linked are sadly on the low ladder and are quite worthless. While the team can work against Mono Steel and other bad teams, it will struggle to win games against more experienced players.

Your team is impossible to rate without completely overhauling it. What I can do for you is one of two things. I can either give you a rate that keeps the same six Pokemon but with better sets, or I can help you build a team around Blacephalon and Torkoal (since that seems to be the starting point of this team), but keep in the mind the team probably won't be the best. I did this for multiple other people and it went well in my opinion; you can see the results here and here.

Sorry for the delayed replay and late of real rate. LMK what you want from me and I'll do my best! See you around the DOU community!

Even with these changes, the team is still competitively unviable without significant changes. I already went over issues with the first part of your team, and your updated members still do not make the team very good. Primarina (who gets weakened by Sun) and Machamp are unranked on the SS Doubles OU Viability Rankings (I can go into more detail why they are bad if you want) and Life Orb Rillaboom, especially your variant, is unviable.

My original proposal still stands. I can help you build a team around Blacephalon and Torkoal (since that seems to be the starting point of this team), as long as you realize the team probably won't be the best.

LMK what you want from me and I'm happy to help
