Mimikyu is a sweeper with a great STAB combination but middling power. Disguise has a number of uses, including revenge killing faster sweepers, granting Mimikyu a free turn to set up, and ensuring that Mimikyu itself is not revenge killed. Notably, Disguise does not protect Mimikyu against status moves or the secondary effects of moves like Scald. Shadow Sneak gives Mimikyu a way to pick off weakened faster Pokemon like Noivern and Crobat. Shadow Claw hits Pokemon that resist Play Rough like Metagross, Crobat, Galarian Slowbro, Alolan Marowak, and Galarian Weezing. Drain Punch misses out on the aforementioned targets but hits Steel-types like Steelix, Registeel, and Stakataka much harder than Shadow Claw. Finally, Wood Hammer can be used to hit the likes of Suicune, Milotic, and Rhyperior harder than any of Mimikyu's other moves.

Mimikyu is best suited to hyper offense or bulky offense teams that appreciate the safety net Disguise provides against faster threats. The most significant Mimikyu check in the tier is Zarude, which outspeeds Mimikyu and OHKOes it with Power Whip once Disguise is broken. Zarude can be checked by Crobat, Klefki, and Talonflame. Zygarde-10% can lure in Zarude and potentially KO it with Superpower, making it another good partner. Mimikyu must be sure to weaken Cobalion before attempting to sweep; it can be checked by Golisopod and Talonflame, while Sharpedo and Cloyster can wear down Cobalion due to it repeatedly switching into them. Steelix is able to halt a Mimikyu sweep if it's healthy enough, so Pokemon able to wear it down like Xurkitree and Necrozma also make for good partners. The majority of Mimikyu's answers are vulnerable to Spikes, which Golisopod, Roserade, and Klefki can provide.

Mimikyu must be sure to weaken Cobalion before attempting to sweep; it can be checked by Golisopod, Talonflame, and Choice Scarf Magnezone (Scarf isn't a set on Magnezone's analysis and it's awful anyway. Cloyster and Sharpedo are HO teammates that tend to force Cobalion in to weaken it for Mimikyu). Steelix is able to halt a Mimikyu sweep if it's healthy enough, so Pokemon able to wear it down like Xurkitree and Necrozma also make for good partners. The majority of Mimikyu's answers are vulnerable to Spikes, which Golisopod, (AC) and, Roserade, and (Roserade can force damage onto bulky Steels and check faster Electrics like Raikou and Xurkitree if they try to revenge kill Mimikyu) Klefki can provide.

Mimikyu is a sweeper with a great stab combination but middling power definitely mention disguise here, its the defining aspect of mimikyu. up to you but possibly mention wood hammer?
