Miltank (Life Orb)

Ok this will be my last one for awhile since I already have a bit going on, but I've loved using this set for the passed 2 weeks and thought I'd write a set.

[SET]
name: MooFensive (Life Orb)
move 1: Double-Edge / Return
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Heal Bell / Toxic
move 4: Milk Drink
item: Life Orb
ability: Scrappy
nature: Jolly
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

Why this set deserves to be on-site:

-Base 100 Speed and decent Attack stat let her make a good cleaner. Also has pretty good coverage
-Over Tauros, Miltank has the advantage of Scrappy which lets her hit Ghost-types. Kangaskhan is often regulated to Choice (like Tauros) and makes him easy to wall/set-up bait. Miltank also has reliable recovery and unpredictability over both of these Pokemon
-Return is powerful, but Body Slam helps Miltank spread paralysis, which is useful for many teams
-Earthquake for Steel- and Rock-types
-Rock Slide lets Miltank OHKO both Scyther and Moltres (who is outsped), but Heal Bell is useful to get rid of status (mainly burn) and provides good team support
-Milk Drink for instant recovery

additional comments:
-Adamant nature
-mainly Stealth Rock, but this Miltank has better things to do
-Zen Headbutt in the 3rd slot for Weezing
-Miltank can win against a few walls with instant recovery like Tangrowth because Milk Drink has more PP
-basically mention how shit like Uxie and other Pokemon fuck with Tauros and Kanga by statusing them, but how Miltank can simply heal everything off and defeat them one-on-one while being in perfect fighting condition against the incoming Pokemon

teammates:

-if Heal Bell isn't being used, something that can absorb will-o-wisp is useful. Mainly Fire-types like Houndoom (who can get rid of Weezing and Tomb in that case)
-Venusaur makes a great partner. He enjoys Miltank's ability to lure and defeat Moltres and Registeel, while he defeats bulky waters like Milotic and Slowbro
-Pokemon that can take advantage of paralysis if you run Body Slam. I used SD Torterra but Rhyperior is also good
-CB Kangaskhan / Tauros
-Spikes suppport
counters:

-Bulky waters like Milotic and Slowbro
-if Heal Bell isn't used, Spiritomb and Weezing can burn her and eventually win
-weak to bulky Pokemon that can take her hits and set up (ulky SD Leafeon, bulky CM Uxie etc...)

I think Thick Fat deserves a mention. Without it, Miltanky is just another normal type. :(

If you do this, mention CB Spiritomb as a partner. That'll show those damn ghosts!

I think with Thick Fat, Miltank is just another normal type. Scrappy means that unlike other Normal-types (bar Kanga) you don't need to use a pursuit Spiritomb to get rid of Ghosts. If you run Thick Fat there is very little reason to run offensive Miltank over Tauros, who gets higher initial physical defense thanks to Intimidate. I guess Thick Fat will let Miltank come in on Arcanine's Flare Blitz, but that's the only case where I see that being a superior ability.

yeah this set needs scrappy, and i like the idea of using this in conjunction with CB Kanga! i'll give it a shot later.

Yeah, definitely mention CB Kanga in the teammates section.

The biggest issue I see with this is how weak it is. I would really recommend slashing Adamant just for that. I realize that Jolly is important for Rotom and Houndoom and things, but...so weak...
And remove Body Slam, because it has no place on a Life Orb set, and replace it with Double-Edge. Double-Edge gets some very important kills, like on offensive Venusaur (if you're Adamant) and having a decent chance to 2hko Milotic (again if you're Adamant). Importantly, Double-Edge also 2hkos 252/0 Intimidate Hitmontop (again, Adamant, see why I'd like it to be slashed in?), while Return doesn't. LO + recoil isn't that big of a deal when you have Milk Drink, and it is Miltank's best way to leverage itself over the arguably superior Scrappy user, Kanghaskhan.

And don't change the set name. I refuse to approve this if it is not called Mooffensive :D

I agree with CiM. "MooFensive" would flow much better phonetically.

I tested this out for my QC round. Scrappy should definitely be the only nature option, and I second Double Edge. However, I'm don't really think it's all that worthwhile to use Adamant - one of Miltank's primary assets is outrunning all the +Speed base 95s (and Rotom/Moltres).

i much preferred double-edge on this set over return because (a) miltank has relatively big HP so it can afford recoil (b) milk drink recovers lost HP anyways (c) return hits like a girl. i hate return...

also, i used substitute in the third slot over rock slide, since your normal stab koes moltres after SR already. its fun for setting up on things that want to thunder wave you or burn you (registeel, spiritomb, and lol god setting up on bulky missy is the best).

edit: stellars going to bitch when he sees this post and that i haven't given him credit for suggesting this set to me way back when so ok here you go bitchass

I insist that this set is named Moofensive. Anyways, I didn't have much time to test it outside of like 2 battles, but this thing with Spikes support looks very promissing. Base 100 Speed is awesome for late-game sweeping, and if you use something like Tauros to weaken Weezing, Regirock and such, that like to switch in way too much but have no reliable recovery, as well as Milotic, it isn't so hard to kill a fair share of mons, even with a paltry Attack.

Spikes should be listed as a great support option. really helps in wearing down steelix and registeel to the earthquake 2hko. also you called kanga a him, while she is always female.

just another point of note, moltres and scyther are already taking huge damage from return. with sr up they're both killed. I think that heal bell should be the main option over rock slide. additionally miltank hits like a squishy tomato. double-edge should be emphasized more.

edit: toxic on the rock slide / heal bell slot for the walls that miltank just can't break through? honestly, these are the counters you listed:

~milotic / slowbro
~tangrowth (well kinda, you said miltank wins in the end but toxic speeds it up)
~bulky sd leafeon / cm uxie

yeah.. toxic them and they're hard-pressed to wall things.

Changes made to the OP, everything good?

I want to emphasize that Miltank > Kanga/Tauros is usually better than Tauros/Kanga > Miltank, especially if they're choiced.
