Thanks to its mixed defenses, Haze, and reliable recovery, Milotic finds itself a niche in OU as a bulky Water-type. Its naturally high Special Defense helps it check Pokemon such as Dragapult, Clefable, and Choice Specs Aegislash, and its typing and decent Defense allow it to tank hits from Pokemon like Dracovish. Additionally, Marvel Scale allows it to become even more physically bulky when statused, potentially discouraging the foe to use status moves; however, being inflicted by Toxic isn't advised, since it shortens the number of turns Milotic can stay in. Scald can potentially punish physical attackers with a burn. Dragon Breath gives Milotic the ability to also spread paralysis against Pokemon like Dracovish, Dragapult, and Hydreigon. The combination of Recover and Haze helps to prevent setup Pokemon such as Gyarados, Kommo-o, and Corviknight from getting out of hand against Milotic. The given EV spread alongside a Calm nature allows Milotic to avoid being 2HKOed by Choice Specs Aegislash after Stealth Rock damage while still being physically bulky enough to take on Pokemon like Choice Scarf Dracovish.

Ferrothorn is one of the best partners for Milotic, covering for potential Grass- and Electric-type coverage moves as well as acting as a switch-in to Toxic; in return, Milotic can switch into Fire-type moves that threaten Ferrothorn. Pokemon that can take advantage of the status Milotic can potentially spread also work great as offensive teammates. Burns from Scald can give Pokemon like Clefable and Hatterene safer opportunities to switch in, whereas paralyses from Dragon Breath can give Pokemon like Dracozolt and Dracovish an extremely helpful advantage in outspeeding and KOing most Pokemon that would be threats to them otherwise. Finally, hazard removers like Mandibuzz, Corviknight, and Excadrill help preserve Milotic's ability to tank hits. Excadrill is a noteworthy partner because it provides an Electric immunity for Milotic.

Is Icy Wind worth mentioning over (or as a slash to) Dragon Breath? Dragon Breath only has a 30% chance to paralyze and it's so weak (both moves are guaranteed 3HKOs after Rocks on Specs Dragapult, and Dragon Breath isn't even a guaranteed 3HKO against 0/0 Dracovish) that Icy Wind's guaranteed speed drop (at the cost of 5BP and 5% accuracy) might be better for reliability.

It can backfire against Bisharp, but that doesn't want to switch in on Scald most of the time.
 
This is an incredibly small nitpick, but investing the last four EVs into SpDef guarantees the 3HKO from Timid Specs Dragapult's Shadow Ball after rocks, a spike, and lefties. In addition to this, I would also mention, but not slash, Mirror Coat. It's a nice to fuck with Volt Switches from Rotom and attacks from Dragapult. If QC doesn't want these suggestions implemented, I would completely understand.

Is Flame Orb worth a slash? It's one of the only mons that can consistently beat any G-Darm set without being worn down over the course of a battle.

This is the best G-Darm can do:
+1 252 Atk Choice Band Darmanitan-Galar Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Marvel Scale Milotic: 145-171 (36.8 - 43.4%) -- 33.6% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and burn damage

Worst case scenario, banded G-Darm's EQ with rocks up can't reliably 2HKO. It's far from perfect but it's the best answer to G-Darm that exists as far as I know. Flame Orb is just for the reliable burn obviously but also erases concerns about Toxic.

I think that works best if you use Rest and Sleep Talk and not a Flame Orb. The damage from Flame Orb is something that Milotic doesn’t appreciate, even if the Marvel Scale is triggered. The thing is that Milotic then will go as a Mono attacker with Scald and Haze to stop setters.
 
Estronic could you please update this? Walling Galarian Darmanitan was a fair share of Milotic's niche, but QC agrees that it's still good enough to warrant an analysis.

I'd also like to suggest a different EV spread as the main spread, though.

Milotic avoids being 2HKOed by Choice Specs Aegislash after Stealth Rock damage with this EV spread. The rest of the EVs are dumped into Defense to help against Pokemon like Choice Scarf Dracovish.

Milotic's one of the very few Pokemon that can check Choice Specs Aegislash well, so I think that that should be highlighted here. You could probably replace either Hydreigon or Dragapult to mention it. Additionally, Marvel Scale allows it to become even more bulky in Defense when statused, so it can take physical attacks even better while also acting as a safe switch-in to status moves from the likes of Rotom-W, Rotom-H, and Galarian Corsola; however, switching into Toxic isn't advised, since it shortens the amount of time Milotic can stay in. You really shouldn't switch your Milotic into either Rotom-W or Rotom-H, even if their Volt Switch doesn't do that much. I don't think you should advice people to fish for getting statused altogether, as canceling out Leftovers recovery is pretty undesirable. Scald is Milotic's main STAB move that can potentially punish physical attackers with a burn, especially when they switch in attempting to force it out. The latter part of this sentence doesn't really make sense and I think you could just keep it out altogether. Dragon Breath gives Milotic the ability to also spread paralysis against Pokemon like Dracovish and Dragapult. Hitting Hydreigon's incredibly important. The combination of Recover and Haze helps to prevent setup Pokemon such as Gyarados, Kommo-o, and Corviknight from getting out of hand against Milotic. An EV spread of 252 HP / 148 Def / 108 SpD alongside a Calm nature allows Milotic to avoid being 2HKOed by Choice Specs Aegislash while still being physically bulky enough to take Pokemon like Choice Scarf Dracovish. You should specify that it avoids being 2HKOed by Choice Specs Aegislash after Stealth Rock damage.

This is pretty nitpicky but the way you word this reads like you are suggesting an alternative EV spread, when this is the standard. Just reword this to say something like "The given EV spread with a Calm nature etc. etc."
