Mew is a potent late-game wincon that can bolster its already impressive defensive profile with Cosmic Power, shrugging off most hits after a few boosts. Mew has near-perfect coverage with Stored Power and Body Press, with the latter able to crucially smash Steel- and Dark-types like Kingambit, Ferrothorn, Mega Tyranitar, and Weavile, which would otherwise exploit it. Covert Cloak is a must for Mew to avoid being worn down by Garganacl’s Salt Cure and help against being burned by Scald from the likes of Toxapex. Tera Poison grants Mew an immunity to Toxic, removing the biggest roadblock to its sweep, allowing it to beat the likes of Heatran, Clodsire, and Gliscor. The given EV spread lets Mew avoid being 2HKOed by Unaware Clodsire, take two Draco Meteors from Dragapult while setting up, and outspeed non-Choice Scarf Urshifu-R. Since Mew is very passive while setting up, it is prone to being overwhelmed by Pokemon like Urshifu-R and Garchomp or used as setup fodder by Pokemon such as Gholdengo and Tornadus-T, thus making it crucial that Mew sets up or Tera at the right time. As such, teammates like Toxapex, Skarmory, and Zapdos are much appreciated to help check those Pokemon for Mew. Taunt from Tornadus-T and Heatran and Trick from Choice Specs Iron Valiant shut Mew down, so having teammates like Gliscor, Gholdengo, and Mega Scizor help deal with them. Gholdengo, in particular, is hard for Mew to deal with, as it can boost at a faster rate than Mew while taking a fully stacked-up Stored Power with ease and being immune to Body Press. Therefore, teammates that can threaten or Pursuit trap it such as Garchomp and Kingambit are very appreciated. Toxapex uses Haze to sit on Mew and forces it to Tera to avoid Toxic, thus overwhelming or removing Toxapex with the likes of Gholdengo, Garganacl, and Heatran allow Mew to set up and win.
