Metagross @ Choice Band
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 84 HP / 252 Atk / 172 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Meteor Mash
- Thunder Punch
- Pursuit / Ice Punch
Metagross uses its high Attack stat and strong physical attacks to cement itself as a solid asset for Psychic teams. Bullet Punch is the primary reason why Metagross is even utilized, as this strong, STAB-boosted priority move is used to threaten Fairy-types such as Mega Diancie, Mimikyu, and Tapu Koko while also checking faster threats such as Mega Aerodactyl and Mega Lopunny. Its access to elemental punches can also be used to threaten foes such as Celesteela, Mantine, Hippowdon, and Zapdos. Teammates such as Mega Latias and Victini appreciate its ability to remove Fairy-types and benefit Metagross in their own ways. The former can break physically defensive walls while providing it with a Fire-type resistance and Ground immunity, while the latter handles opposing Steel-types and can pivot using U-turn to put it in more favorable positions.
