This team is focused on stall. I had this team in mind when Mandibuzz dropped to NU. Since Smogon was down, I had to use my own created sets to form this stall team for the first time. Now that it is back up, this team is becoming more standard. This team is very improvable, but it could still win with the right decisions.

THE TEAM'S JOBS
Mandibuzz (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Big Pecks
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Taunt
- Roost
- Whirlwind
- Foul Play/Brave Bird
The fixed member that cannot be removed. It takes anything not super effective for days and can switch into something that can wall the foe. Taunt shuts down anything reliant on status (especially Exeggutor), Roost keeps it alive longer, Whirlwind racks up hazard damage, and Foul Play is to make sure it isn't Taunt bait. Brave Bird is an alternative to deal with Gurdurr.
Misdreavus @ Eviolite
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 220 Def / 40 Spd
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Foul Play
- Pain Split
- Taunt
The bulkiest spinblocker in NU, a ghost is always good to have in stall. The only spinner that can beat it is SmashKoal, which falls to Golem. Will-O-Wisp shuts down Armaldo, and to a lesser extent, Wartortle. Foul Play is used for Guts users and Smashers. Taunt prevents Wartortle from spinning if it doesn't use Foresight, and Pain Split is the only choice for recovery.
Garbodor @ Black Sludge
Trait: Aftermath
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spd
Impish Nature
- Spikes
- Drain Punch/Gunk Shot
- Rock Blast
- Giga Drain
Poison-types are good to have on stall for removing Toxic Spikes, and Garbodor has decent mixed bulk for the job. Spikes is obvious, and the rest of the moves are for coverage. I don't like using Toxic Spikes because of Gurdurr and Zangoose getting boosts, which is why it isn't here. Gunk Shot is an alternative for more power, though the regular poison is a bit iffy.
Alomomola @ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Wish
- Protect
- Toxic
- Scald
A stall team isn't complete without Alomomola. The moves are obvious. I pick Scald over Waterfall for the chance of burning, and also not being messed up by something with a contact ability like Static. With Wish, Toxic, and Protect added, Alomomola will take physical hits for days.
Golem @ Custap Berry
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 HP / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Rock Blast
The "lead." Stealth Rock is Stealth Rock, which is very good in stall. Rock Blast and Earthquake make a psuedo EdgeQuake threatens both Armaldo and Torkoal. With Sturdy, Golem makes for a Custap lead to set up hazards before dying. Explosion is used to prevent Wartortle from spinning should it be out and I don't did from a burn.
Lickilicky @ Leftovers
Trait: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Careful Nature
- Wish
- Heal Bell
- Protect
- Dragon Tail
If Alomomola checks physical attackers, Lickilicky is for anything special. Lickilicky also shuts down Liepard with this set. WishPassing has the same use as Alomomola, and Lickilicky also acts as a cleric with Heal Bell. Dragon Tail racks up hazard damage and discourages setup.
Other Team Options
Bastiodon @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Roar
- Magic Coat
This set is a defensive alternative to Golem. Stealth Rock still fills its purpose. Toxic wears down walls like Alomomola and also Exeggutor, Roar messes up setup and racks up hazard damage, and Magic Coat throws hazard setters and taunters like Skuntank off guard, and shuts down Liepard.
Metang @ Eviolite
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Meteor Mash
- Toxic/Zen Headbutt
- Psych Up
This is more offensive than Bastiodon, but still pretty defensive. Stealth Rock is still a necessity for obvious reasons. Meteor Mash prevents it from being Taunt bait. Toxic is still Toxic, and Psych Up uses boosts from mons like SD Sawsbuck or BU Braviary. Zen Headbutt can also be used to dent Gurdurr.
Threats
Taunt + Pursuit + Sucker Punch LumSkuntank: Biggest pain in the tail. Since this is a stall team, Skuntank is hard to check, and Lum Berry only adds insult to injury. Taunt + Pursuit + Sucker Punch + Lum Berry + Skuntank = at least one of my members dead.
Last Words
Mandibuzz has definitely added to stall, and while it isn't the best stall team, it still can win over time and prediction.
