Megas XNY

Feel that your favourite mon got left out when Gamefreak suddenly decided to give Charizard and Mewtwo seperate megas, both of which have different niches? Not anymore.

Premise: Basically, every mega evolution is split into two, like Charizard and Mewtwo.

How the mega evolutions differ:
Noticeably, Mega Charizard and Mewtwo X are both physically oriented while Y is specially oriented. So, I decided to do the same with all the megas -

X-variants get their boosts in: +Atk, +Def, +Spe
Y-variants get their boosts in: +SpA, +SpDef, +Spe

Due to some mons receiving equal boosts such as Swampert and Altaria, the stats may seem hard to shift. But here's how we fix that problem: Any boosts to SpA and SpDef are shunted to Atk and Def and vice versa for the respective variants. Speed stays constant.

For example:

Swampert, Original stats:

(These are ordered as per: Atk, Def, SpA, SpD, Spe)
Swampert original X: +40 + 20 + 10 + 20 + 10
Swampert X: + 50 + 40 + 0 + 0 + 10
Swampert Y: + 0 + 0 + 50 + 40 + 10

Any previous mega evolution, save for Charizard and Mewtwo, will not be usable in their standard form, and they are already split, and it would be a bit weird to redistribute their stats.

It should be noted that this follows the OU banlist (for now, at least), and standard rules, which means the mega stone limit still exists. We simply have more options to choose from.

How they evolve: These megas will evolve based on their happiness quotient.

Not playable anywhere yet, but requested a few users to code it. I'll post a full list of the new megas soon, but for right now you can use the formula.

Swampert original X: +40 + 20 + 10 + 20 + 10
Swampert X: + 40 + 40 + 0 + 0 + 20
Swampert Y: + 0 + 0 + 40 + 40 + 20

Unless I'm missing something, these transformed stats don't actually follow the rule you laid out. Swampert should gain +50 to its offensive stat, +40 to its defensive one, and +10 to its speed.

Yeah that was a bit of a goof by me, lemme fix it.

Edit: Done.

For an easier reference, these are the new Swamperts based on the formula:

Swampert X: 100/160/130/95/110/70
Swampert Y: 100/110/90/145/130/70

In case I neglected to mention it, the old Swampert mega doesn't exist anymore, as with all the megas. They are all split, save for Zard and Mewtwo, who already are split.

Some immediate observations:

Absolite gives +60 Atk and +40 Speed, which is awesome.
Altarianite is LUDICROUS. +80 Atk with Pixilate is no joke.
Abomasite could be good if you don't care about the speed loss, with +80 Atk and +50 Def.
In a similar vein, Ampharosite is awesome with +70 Atk and +40 Def.
Cameruptite too. +60 Atk and +60 Def are no laughing matter when you have Sheer Force too.
DIANCITE HOLY FUCK (+120 Atk, +60 Speed, -80 Def, Magic Bounce)
Glalitite is awesome in a similar fashion to Altarianite.
Sablenite gives you +100 Def and +30 Atk at the expense of speed. Noice.
Slowbronite and Beedrillite actually managed to get worse amidst all of these crazy buffs.
Tyranitarite makes you bulky asf.
Garchompite is scary. +80 Atk on a Garchomp is no laughing matter.

Tentative list so far:

I'll update this as I go on. Feel free to correct any mistakes I might have made.

Edit: Should be done. Thanks to Peef Rimgar and Rhythms for helping with the stats.

Edit 2: Because Steelix-X breaks max base stats, it's either 75/130/255/55/65/30 or just disregard the 5 points altogether, I'll let people decide.

So are both the megas going to have the same abilities, or are we giving each one a different one? Either way this looks really cool.

The problem with going that route is it would cause confusion as to what ability to choose. I would go with existing abilities, but how? Three standard abilities. Maybe the DW, but which one would get the DW and which one would get the standard mega ability ?

Of course, for flavour reasons I would much rather they get opposing abilities, but idk how it'd work.

Can you guys imagine just how bulky Tyranitar-Y is in the sand?

252 SpA Choice Specs Kyogre Water Spout (150 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Mega Tyranitar in Sand: 282-332 (69.8 - 82.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Feast your eyes...

Medicham X is ruthless.

Jolly Medicham gets 678 Attack. Adamant Medicham gets 744.

For reference, regular Adamant LO Mega Rayquaza gets 655, and Choice Band Mega Ray gets 756. And this one isn't stuck with one move, has a decent 100 speed, priority and PuP.

So do the type and ability changes with the Megas stay the same with the X and Y variants? (i.e. Mega Aggron X and Y are both pure Steel type and have Filter)

Yeah, no changes. I've been wondering if I should give them different abilities, but I dunno how to do that without it being custom as opposed to formulaic.

Yeah, but Huge/Pure Power on Y Megas is useless. I think they should be customized in every aspect so that you could have, for example, a fast Dragon/Steel Mega Altaria Y (?).

Not exactly useless. Medicham has 100 speed and usable SpA, Mawile gets far better SpD, etc.

The mod was approved because it was and was intended to be formula-based, not customized - we already have Megas For All for that.
