[SET COMMENTS]
Mega Sharpedo finds itself on Hyper Offense teams as a late-game sweeper thanks to its access to Speed Boost in its base form. Crunch is the preferred STAB move, as it receives a 1.5x boost from Strong Jaw. Psychic Fangs synergises with Crunch by offering excellent neutral coverage, hitting bulky Fighting- and Grass-types like Iron Hands, Buzzwole, Mega Venusaur and Amoonguss for super-effective damage while also denting neutral switch-ins such as Tapu Fini and Clefable. Waterfall is an option over Psychic Fangs to hit Tyranitar and Mega Tyranitar for supereffective damage while offering the perk of flinching switch-ins like Clefable. Ice Fang offers super effective damage on Hydrapple and Tangrowth while offering a solid hit on Ting-Lu (if not running Waterfall). Protect is vital to accrue Speed Boosts that are necessary to sweep late game and offers a means of scouting opponent's movesets. Adamant nature is preferred for increased damage output, while maximum speed investment allows Mega Sharpedo to outspeed Excadrill and Galarian Moltres without any speed boosts. Mega Sharpedo struggles with defensive Fairy-types, most notably Tapu Fini and Clefable, as they can withstand its assault. Pokemon that place pressure on these Fairy-types, such as Iron Moth, are greatly appreciated. Likewise, Scizor and Aegislash help Mega Sharpedo circumvent its weakness to Choice Scarf Enamorus as they can pivot in on a Choice-locked Fairy move and force hazard damage. Physically defensive walls such as Hippowdon, Celesteela, Skarmory, Ting-Lu, and Rotom-Wash are able to withstand Mega Sharpedo's assault and can potentially cripple it with status. Consequently, Pokemon that can muscle through physical walls, like Thundurus and Victini, make excellent partners. Fighting types like Iron Hands and Galarian Zapdos scare off Tyranitar and Mega Tyranitar and can help overwhelm physically defensive walls like Skarmory, Buzzwole and Clefable, allowing Mega Sharpedo to clean late-game. In a similar vein, Iron Boulder also partners well with Mega Sharpedo and appreciates Mega Sharpedo punishing Slowbro switch-ins. Offensive Dark types like Galarian Moltres and Bisharp can form potent Dark spam cores with Mega Sharpedo as they aim to overwhelm the Fairy- and Fighting-types that can otherwise check them. Mega Sharpedo relies on hazard support to chip its answers into range, and it necessitates support from hazard setters like Excadrill, Ting-Lu, Greninja, and Mew. Healing Wish support from Latias and Enamorus can give Mega Sharpedo another opportunity to sweep.
