XY OU Mega Pinsir's Frustration

Hello everyone, So far my team is unbeaten 11-0, I'm currently laddering a new account and thought I'd showcase my team.

Lead:

Peekaboo (Gengar) @ Focus Sash
Ability - Levitate
EV's - 4 Hp, 252 SpA, 252 Spe
Nature - Timid (+Spe, -Atk)

- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Bomb

I use Gengar as a suicide lead, with it's move pool, amazing special attack and speed it can deal a hefty chunk of damage to the majority of teams out there at the moment, Nothing really appreciates what Gengar has to offer.

Physical Core:

Knock Knock (Conkeldurr) @ Assault Vest
Ability - Guts
EV's - 124 HP, 252 Atk, 132 SpD
Nature - Adamant (+Atk, -SpA)

- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Ice Punch
- Knock Off

This thing with Assault Vest is great, the perfect user in my opinion, Can switch it in on predicted status moves such as Will-o-Wisp to active guts then the real fun begins.

Frustration (Mega-Pinsir) @ Pinsirite
Shiny - Yes
Ability - Moxie/Aerilate
EV's - 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4 SpD
IV's 0 Happiness
Nature - Jolly (+Spe, -SpA)

- Swords Dance
- Frustration
- Quick Attack
- Close Combat

The monster himself, Mega Pinsir is by far my favourite mega because it's super over powered with it's Aerilate ability making normal type moves flying with 1.3x damage, If this thing can set-up even one swords dance against an unprepared team, it has absolutely no problem wrecking it's way through.

Special Core:

Morphsuit (Greninja) @ Life Orb
Ability - Protean
EV's - 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Nature - Timid (+Spe, -Atk)

- Hydro Pump
- Dark Pulse
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power (Fire)

I use greninja mostly as my late game sweeper if mega-pinsir fails to do the job, Greninja has a lot of coverage and can clean up whatever is left standing on my opponents side, Hidden power fire is for the likes of Scizor and Ferrothorn.

Disco Eyes (Noivern) @ Choice Specs
Ability - Infiltrator
EV's - 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 SpD
Nature - Timid (+Spe, -Atk)

- Boomburst
- Air Slash
- Shadow Ball
- Draco Meteor

Noivern is an amazing pokemon with good coverage along with the fact he is super fast, Seeing as greninja is a slight threat to my team this outspeeds it by one point and it can easily be taken out with a boomburst.

Support:

Jingle (Klefki) @ Light Clay
Ability - Prankster
EV's - 252 HP, 252 Def, 4 SpD
Nature - Bold (+Def, -Atk)

- Thunder Wave
- Spikes
- Reflect
- Lightscreen

Klefki is a great support pokemon, Pranker duel screens with the prankster ability is a bonus for a lot of my pokemon who wouldn't usually be able to take a hit, Thunder wave to para hax fast threats and spikes to break sashes from the lights of breloom.

And that's my team, any positive feedback or constructive criticism is appreciated.

I also know I don't have 3 lines of desc for each pokemon but I have a hard time writing that sort of thing.

Looks pretty good, but why frustration instead of return?
Doesn't really make a difference, but I prefer to think that my pokemon are my friends and like me :P

Frustration is for Ditto. Ditto copy EVs but no hapiness. Usually people put their ditto with max hapiness. But if they put 0 hapinness and Pinsir have return it's problematic.
In any case the 0 happiness is just to destroy ditto.

Otherwise cool team man :)

If you are using Gengar as a suicide lead, I have a small change:

Peekaboo (Gengar) @ Focus Sash
Ability - Levitate
EV's - 4 Hp, 252 SpA, 252 Spe
Nature - Timid (+Spe, -Atk)

- Taunt
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Bomb

Taunt allows you to shut down opposing lead that are not faster than you (aka everything but Azelf and Lead Aero). Otherwise that is a good anti-lead.

Disco Eyes (Noivern) @ Choice Specs
Ability - Infiltrator
EV's - 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 SpD
Nature - Timid (+Spe, -Atk)

- Boomburst
- Hurricane
- Shadow Ball/Flamethrower
- Draco Meteor

Morphsuit (Greninja) @ Life Orb
Ability - Protean
EV's - 252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Nature - Timid (+Spe, -Atk)

- Hydro Pump
- Extrasensory/Dark Pulse
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power (Fire)/Extrasensory

Hurricane is almost always advisable over Air Slash except on HaxKiss. The difference in power makes up for the difference in accuracy. Also, Flamethrower is an option over Shadow Ball to better take on Steel types like Scizor, Ferrothorn and Skarmory. However, you are the walled by Heatran. It more depends on what is a bigger threat for you. Also, Dark Pulse can be switched to Extrasensory on Greninja to better take on Mega Venusaur, Keldeo and Azumarill. However you lose out on hitting Slowbro, Crawdaunt, Starmie and other Greninja (before Protean). Again, it depends on what your team needs. You could also use Dark Pulse and Extrasensory, and drop HP Fire if you use Fire coverage on Noivern. The only other thing you could do is use an attacking move on Klefki to make it not completely shutdown by Taunt, but that's a nitpick on my part. It is a nice looking team, those are just small coverage changes. Good luck with your team!

Thank you for your feed back, I didn't use flamethrower on Noivern due to being walled by heatran since it's pretty predictable when you're going to use flamethrower However no one expects HP fire that i have encountered so far, I will definitely be switching out Hurricane for Air slash on him though, thank you for that and I will try Extrasensory on Greninja.

Well Celticpride034 pretty much covered the flaws of your team I would like to put in a preference. Run Feint over Quick attack on pinsir the reason being...Talonflame. Here is the calc for a +2 pinsir feint against Tflame: +2 252 Atk Aerilate Mega Pinsir Feint vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Talonflame: 192-226 (64.6 - 76%) -- guaranteed 2HKO The reason being for having feint over quick attack is because it is +2 priority meaning that if you are somehow at +6 (low low low ladder) you'll have no worries about winning due to 'dat priority tho'. Anyway this is just a preference so change at your own will, have fun!

Thank you for your feedback, I actually didn't know Feint had +2 priority, definitely going to run this due to talonflame, if i don't manage to KO it I can get off heavy damage against a big threat.

Feint will allow you to hit Talonflame first, but you will still die if Talon is above 64.6% when you're at +2. I don't think that the loss in power is worth this shaky KO.

Then again, your team is very weak to CB Talon. Brave Birds OHKOs Gengar (though you do have sash), and Greninja, and almost KOs Noivern.

I completely forgot the mention...GET A DEFOGGER! Primarily I would replace Noivern with something like Latias/Os and run a life orb defog set. Because yeah your team is extremely weak to stealth rocks and you don't want to be making unnecessary switch ins any time soon
