Introduction

After a few months of fooling around with fun teams on low ladder I finally wanted to try and climb up the ladder using an actual team that still felt fun to use. I decided I would try to use pokemon that I had not used before and also stray from my usual hyper offense teams. From there I built this team! (This my second rate my team ever by the way so sorry if the formatting isn't correct).

Teambuilding Process

When I went to make this team the first pokemon that popped into my head was Mega Medicham as it was an absolute power house that I had never used before. I felt a strong fighting type would be good for the team, and I wanted it over hawlucha for its initial power and access to priority moves.

Mamoswine was the second pokemon I chose because I wanted another strong physical breaker as well as a rocks setter. It pairs nicely with Mega Medi being able to deal with things like physically defensive zapdos, magearna and rocky helmet Landorus-t as well as giving me a second form of priority.

Ash Greninja was the third mon I chose for this team because I needed a special breaker due to my two previous pokemon both being physical breakers. Ash Gren also gave me a mon well over 100 speed because so far my team was looking rather slow. On top of that it gives my a third mon with priority moves.

So far my team had been entirely offensive so I needed some bulk. I went with unaware clefable because it is "get out of jail free card" if a mon sets up. It is especially great against dd gyarados because it resists the priority moves of all three of my previous mons and hits it hard with a moon blast. Clefable also gave me another potential rock setter so the opponent can't be certain which pokemon would have stealth rocks.

Next up I went with AV magearna as a specially defensive mon to pair with my physically defensive clefable. AV magearna is fantastic at dealing with tapu lele which removes the priority from my three offensive mons and my team was pretty weak to it in general.

This sixth mon has shifted a few times so I will quickly go over those shifts. This spot was originally gastrodon as I wanted more bulk on my team and a fantastic Ash gren check. However I already had AV magearna which checked it pretty well. The 6th spot soon shifted to victini because my team struggled with ferrothorn because it wore down mega medicham quickly. When adding this to my team though I immediately felt the consequences of not having hazard removal so I changed it to tornadus-t. Torn-t finally gave my team some hazard removal as well a voltTurn core. On top of that, I currently did not have a z user so it seemed like the perfect choice for a z user as well.

The Team

medicham-mega.gif

Medicham @ Medichamite
Ability: Telepathy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- High Jump Kick
- Bullet Punch
- Zen Headbutt
Mega Medicham is the star of the show and its set is pretty standard. However, I chose to run bullet punch over ice punch because I already have great lando-t checks. Mamoswine can come in on it and threaten it out and ash gren can revenge kill. Other than that, duel stab + fake out/bp provides super strong breaking power while the double priority can allow it the clean at the end of a game.

mamoswine.gif

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Crash
- Stealth Rock
Mamoswine is a great rocks setter as it threatens out lando-t, the most common pokemon in the tier, and can procede to get up rocks or heavily damage the mon that the opponent switches into. I decided to run adamant nature over jolly because of more power and it also allows a chance for mamo to revenge kill defensive lando-t after rocks.

greninja-ash.gif

Greninja-Ash @ Choice Specs
Ability: Battle Bond
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Dark Pulse
- Water Shuriken
- Spikes
There is not much to explain with this Ash gren set because it is as standard as it gets lol. Like I said before, I needed a special breaker and went with specs over z move because I wanted more power throughout the match as well as a stronger priority move. This thing is a great cleaner because although my previous mons have strong priority, they don't have an amazing speed stat like Ash gren does.

clefable.gif

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell
Clefable is a super imortant member on this team because of its support capabilities. Heal bell is nice for toxic and is super helpful for removing burns that can make mega medicham useless. Unaware clef is also great for dealing with setup sweepers like hawlucha and dd mons that my priority may have little effect on or if those mons are already dead. Wish support is also great in healing both itself and its teammates so I can get enough hp to take a hit with a mon and win.

magearna.gif

Magearna @ Assault Vest
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fleur Cannon
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Volt Switch
Magearna felt like a great choice for a specially defensive mon. It gives me momentum with volt switch and baits stuff like zygarde which just get OHKOd by fleur cannon. In this case I went with hp fire over ice beam because I already had plenty of stuff for lando and I felt the ability to hit things like ferrothorn and scizor was more valuable.

tornadus-therian.gif

Tornadus-Therian @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Defog
After switching this spot around a few times I settled on tornadus-t which has done so much for my team. It gives me a way of hazard removal which my team lacked prior. Knock off is great for getting rid of rocky helmets which mega medicham hates. Uturn forms a voltTurn core with magearns giving my a slow and faster pivot. Lastly, it gives me z user and z hurricane is an absolute nuke which can weaken bulky mons and make them easier to take down with other mons.

Conclusion

In conclusion I would like some thoughts on the team as although I have been doing well with the team, I would still like to make it better. Most of my losses seem to be because of certain mons dying or getting worn down and I'm not able to pass a wish to them. Thank you for all suggestions you have :]

I saw a team with a similar core somewhere in the section.
Btw I hope that my attentions will be used to improve the team.

The first thing I notice in addition to the fix is that you need a real water resist aninja is not very reliable even for revenue on Heatran.
The change that I recommend is Tornadus> Latias, in addition to guaranteeing the requirements listed above, it offers a good switch in on Keldeo.
So scarfer is necessary because of the low speed control of the team, even if you have 3 priorities moves, excellent support for the team and thanks to hwish it can increase the longevity of the destructive power of MMedi and Mamo.
Trick would serve to block steela as you have no direct measure to revengekill.

latias.gif

Latias @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Healing Wish
- Defog

At this point i would to fix Magearna with iron head instead of flash cannon, much more useful vs cm Clefable of yours opponent.
Clefable is perfect with the classic set for this team, with the addition of t-wave for megaGyarados setups, Lele n other wallbreakers
Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave

Mamo with the z move is not to give free switch to Ferro or Chansey with the status.

thanks for the input, I actually the latias change a lot. Although, should I use unaware clef so it can stop mega gyarados setup better?
Edit: Also, what are you thoughts on jolly over adamant mamo so I can kill z fire heatran?

The mega gyarados ability breaks unaware users, since, if you are in front of a mega gyarados not megaevolved with clef hardly will megaevolve, that's why I opted for twave.

I say you did well to notice this particular, but hardly heatran remains on a mamo unless he was scouted, however the measures for hoko you have between mega medi and aninja.

ok thanks, I only mentioned the heatran thing because one stayed in and OHKOd me with z fire, but I doubt that set is too relevant
