Mega Mawile VGC Trick Room Team

First of all I want to just want to say that I was inspired to make this a Mega Mawile team after hearing about Mega Mawile being the pokemon with the best attack. But my happiness quickly vanished when I saw its base 50 speed stat. But after I found out it has great synergy with cresselia, I instantly thought of making a Mega Mawile Trick Room Team.

FYI; I made this team in about 15 minutes so it may have some problems... *Cough Cough* Cofagrius* Cough*

So please read my team and comment any advice you have below!

Mawile-Mega @ Mawilite
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Play Rough
- Iron Head
- Brick Break
- Protect

Mawile's item and ability are a no-brainer(Also his pre mega ability is Intimidate). The Evs help his low HP and make his attack nearly unstoppable. I chose adament over jolly because we obviously dont need speed. Play rough and Iron head are its STAB moves and brick break is for type coverage. Protect is also an essential in VGC.

Cresselia (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 236 HP / 204 Def / 68 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Psychic
- Ice Beam
- Helping Hand

Cresselia is my main Trick room pokemon. Being a good tank and essential to keep around I gave it lots of bulk, leftovers, and a relaxed nature. Cresselia's Stab moves is Psychic, but she also has ice beam for those pesky dragons. Helping hand is to give a nice attack boost to either Tyranitar or Mawile.

Tyranitar @ Chople Berry
Ability: Sand Stream
Evs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
IVs: 0 Spe
- Rock Slide
- Crunch
- Superpower
- Earthquake

Tyranitar has a chople berry to weaken its horrible fighting weakness. The Evs give Bulk and great Attcking force. Rock Slide and Crunch are its STAB moves and Superpower and earthquake are coverage.

Scrafty @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Atk / 92 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Fake Out
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off
- Protect

Scrafty is my bulky attacker and has fake out and knock off. Drain punch helps keep it alive and so does protect.

Cofagrigus @ Mental Herb
Ability: Mummy
EVs: 252 HP / 44 Def / 212 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Trick Room
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Will-O-Wisp

Now Cofagrius... I'm honestly not sure if he helps the team as people dont use him much, I just feel like there must be a reason. IDK... Anyway his evs provide bulk and so does the sassy nature. He also has trick room, like cresselia. Nasty plot gives him great special attck for his shadow ball and will-o-wisp can slowley weaken walls.

Milotic @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Competitive
EVs: 236 HP / 140 Def / 132 SpA
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Scald
- Icy Wind
- Recover
- Protect

Milotic is a wall for my team, but also has decent SpA. It's STAB move is scald, which can cause burns. It also has icy wind. Recover and protect keep it alive.

Anyway I made this team quickly and would definetly appreciate some help. Thanks!

Small changes: Sucker Punch > Brick Break, cause it's better coverage for Mawile.

Also, Safet Goggles over Ice Beam to avoid Spore. If you'd like keeping Ice Beam for a reason, have Expert Belt > Leftovers.

Nice team you got there! I'm not a specialist on TR, but here are some notes you should take:
1. Put bigger descriptions on your Pokemon. In that way, this thread won't get locked.
2. As Majore D' Mawile said, run Safety Goggles over Leftovers on Cresselia. This team hates dealing with Amoonguss under Trick Room, which you should always have an answer for
3. Run Expert Belt, Choice Scarf, Choice Band or Life Orb over Chople Berry on Tyranitar. For data's sake, -2 Close Combat from Jolly Terrakion with Lum Berry OHKOs Tyranitar, so Chople Berry won't live that much. Plus you got Mawile and Cofagrigus to deal with fighting types. The items listed gives Tyranitar more offensive pressure. May sound contradictory to Trick Room, but Choice Scarf Tyranitar lets you fight opposing threats such as Charizard Y outside of it, which is huge for a Trick Room team. Trick Room teams should often if not always have a Pokemon that works outside of Trick Room
4. Run Modest over Quiet on Milotic. Milotic has Icy Wind and has Quiet Nature, plus its speed is really mediocre so what do you want to undercreep that 0 EVs with a neutral nature and max IVs won't?

Well, that's all i can do for now. Have a nice day!

Trick room mawile is so OP,really like your team and I think it's a solid one to use.
Make sure you changed ev's along the way to ensure you survive certain hits from common pokemon.
Also, you have to change the item on scrafty since it's not possible to carry the same items.
Therefore, I suggest changing it into assault vest (for extra bulk).

Swap confi for sable-eye
; prankster is so good and could really help your team out. taunt also shuts down potential amoongususes(meta-game' s trick room killer). will-o to stop (lando,kanka..etc.) and swagger(to annoy) or recover to stay alive longer.

Sableye @ Roseli Berry
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 20 Def / 236 SDef
Calm Nature
–Foul Play
–Will-O-Wisp
–Taunt
–Swagger

mental herb on cress to make sure you get a TR up :)

hope I was of help to you!

Not sure why you have Icy Wind on a Trick Room team, the main point is to underspeed stuff not to lower your opponents speed. In my opinion you should just go Ice Beam on Cresselia instead for the higher damage output.

Hello jmgjoe1 , and welcome to Smogon*!

Unfortunately, this RMT is currently not following the rules which can be found in the RMT Resource Thread; specifically, this thread violates rule #4, because you lack sufficient descriptions for each Pokemon on your team. As such, I am afraid that I will have to lock this thread for the time being. If you would like this thread to be reopened, feel free to PM me with your updated RMT, and I would be happy to reopen this thread for you. If you need help making an RMT up to the required standards, I recommend that you carefully read the RMT Resource Thread and check out other RMTs from the Team Showcase and RMT Archive for some examples.

Good luck with your team, and have a nice day!
