[SET COMMENTS]
Thanks to Huge Power giving it an insanely high Attack stat, Mega Mawile is an incredibly scary sweeper and wallbreaker. Its stellar defensive typing allows it to pivot into the field safely against foes such as Weavile, Rillaboom, and Kommo-O, giving it ample setup opportunity. Sucker Punch gives it a way to bypass its low Speed stat and hit Pokemon which outpace it before they can hit it back, such as Mega Medicham, Heatran, and a weakened Landorus-T, and its incredibly powerful after a boost. Knock Off is a powerful coverage move that hits Pokemon who resist Play Rough, like Corviknight, Toxapex, and Skarmory, it also helps Mawile make consistent progress in the early game, by removing items from foes like Heatran, Corviknight, and Landorus-T. However, Thunder Punch can also be used to hit Toxapex, Skarmory, and Corviknight harder, but it leaves Mawile unable to break through defensive Landorus-T and Heatran. Intimidate is the preferred ability pre mega as it allows Mawile to pivot in on Weavile and Lopunny better. The given spread lets it outspeed Corviknight and Skarmory.
Mega Mawile primarily fits on bulky offense teams, as they are the best at supporting it defensively while also being able to pack teammates to take advantage of its breaking potential. Good pivoting cores are incredibly important; teammates such as Landorus-T, Rotom-W, and Corviknight can safely pivot in Mawile on the field and minimize the chip damage it has to take. They also invite in Pokemon that are natural setup oppurtunities for Mega Mawile, such as AV Tangrowth for the former two. Rotom-W is an especially notable teammate, being able to handle Heatra,n Ash-Greninja, and Ground-types. Entry hazards help Mawile a great deal, as they wear down its switch-ins such as Toxapex, Mega Scizor, Garchomp, and Heatran, therefore entry hazard support through teammates such as Garchomp, Heatran, and Ferrothorn is greatly appreciated. Naturally fast Pokemon, like Tapu Koko, Ash-Greninja, and Weavile make for amazing teammates, as they greatly appreciate Mega Mawile breaking down opposing walls, allowing them to clean up teams better, additionally, their high speed allow them to handle Mega Mawile's offensive counterplay. Tapu Koko can also help boost the power of Mawiles Thunder Punch, should it carry it. and Ash-Greninja is quite possibly the best teammate to Mega Mawile, as their offensive synergy is fantastic; Mawile is able to break through walls such as Ferrothorn, Toxapex, and Amoonguss for Ash-Greninja, which gives it an amazing opportunity to sweep. In return, Greninja is able to lay Spikes for Mawile, which helps it threaten its Switch-ins, and can revenge kill faster Pokemon which check Mega Mawile, like Landorus-T, Heatran, and Garchomp. Mega Mawile is, however, weak to Ground-types such as Landorus-T, Gliscor, and Garchomp, making Water- Grass- and Flying-types that can switch into these, such as Slowbro, Corviknight, and Tangrowth incredibly good partners, the aforementioned Weavile is also excellent at taking advantage of these. Faster Pokemon like Gliscor, Tapu Koko, and Mega Lopunny can revenge kill Mawile, making defensive Pokemon to handle these, like Corviknight, Landorus-T and Slowbro key to making Mawile work. Moreover, Mawile also struggles against Fire-types like Heatran, Mega Charizard Y, and Volcarona, making teammates that can handle these, such as Hydreigon, Toxapex, and Tapu Fini stellar teammates. Tapu Fini is an especially good teammate, as its able to check Heatran and Volcarona for Mawile, meanwhile its Misty Terrain lets it switch into Scalds from foes like Toxapex and Alomomola without fearing getting burned.

Mega Mawile does not need Swords Dance to be threatening; it can drop Swords Dance for an extra coverage move, letting it rip through common defensive cores with its raw power in addition to its coverage. Fire Fang allows for Mawile to hit Steel-types such as Corviknight, Mega Scizor, and Ferrothorn super effectively. Brick Break lets Mega Mawile hit Heatran super effectively, but makes it struggle against Mega Scizor and Ferrothorn. Alternatively, Focus Punch is an option which comes with immense power, being able to hit Heatran, Mega Scizor, and Corviknight for incredible amounts of damage. However, it is significantly less reliable than Brick Break; the mind games that come with using it make it hard to consistently pull off. Ice Punch lets Mega Mawile nail Ground-types that tend to switch into Mawile, like Landorus-T and Gliscor. Thunder Punch lets it hit Water- and Flying-types like Toxapex, Skarmory, and Slowbro. The given EV spread allows Mega Mawile to outspeed Mega Scizor, letting it OHKO it with Fire Fang; however, if you opt to not run Fire Fang, going down to 164 Speed EVs for Corviknight and Skarmory is better.
All out attacking Mega Mawile once more fits the best on offensive team structures. Faster cleaners like Choice Scarf Tapu Lele, Ash-Greninja, and Serperior appreciate Mega Mawile's ability to break through common walls, they also help against offensive teams which Mega Mawile tends to struggle against, they can also provide it support through Future Sight, Spikes, or Glare. Unlike its Swords Dance set, All Out Attacking Mega Mawile does not tend to sweep very often, as such pairing it with Set-Up sweepers such as Swords Dance Kartana, Calm Mind Clefable, and Swords Dance Garchomp make for an excellent offensive core alongside it. Pivoting teammates are as crucial as ever for getting Mawile onto the field, making teammates like Slowking, Tapu Koko, and Victini excellent teammates. Mega Mawile is easily handled by anything faster than it, Pokemon like Gliscor, Heatran, Garchomp, and Landorus-T are easily capable of forcing it out, and the only thing Mawile can do against them is hit them on the switch in. As such, defensive Pokemon are crucial to making Mawile work, with Slowking, Tangrowth, and Tapu Fini being able to deal with the offensive threats it brings in.

Other Options
=============
Hyper Cutter can be used as the ability on any of its sets, letting it ignore Intimidate from Landorus-T switching into it, letting it hit them incredibly hard. However, the utility Intimidate gives as well as the ability to create entry points for Mega Mawile tend to be more useful.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Steel-Types**: Steel-types like Heatran, Mega Scizor, Ferrothorn, and Skarmory are annoying for Mawile to break through, as they resist its Play Rough and have various ways of beating it. Similarly, Corviknight can pivot into Mega Mawile and U-turn to bring something to force it out with. and Magnezone is able to trap and remove Mega Mawile, should it switch in safely, but it can drop to a boosted Sucker Punch. Nonetheless, Mega Mawile does have some ways to break through these threats; all of them, unless they are carrying a boosting move of their own, falter against Mega Mawile if it has set up enough Swords Dances. And they must also be wary about its Super Effective coverage on the All Out Attacking set. Iron Defense Skarmory is the sole exception to this, as it can match Mega Mawile's Attack boosts with Defense boosts of its own, and threaten it out with Body Press.
**Ground-types**: Ground-types like Hippowdon, Landorus-t, and Gliscor can switch into Mawile, and threaten it with Earthquake; Garchomp, Excadrill, and Mega Swampert cannot comfortably switch into Mawile, but they are able to threaten it as well. However, these all need to be cautious about boosted Play Rough's or Ice Punch, and offensive variants need to be cautious about boosted Sucker Punches.
**Revenge Killers**: Due to Mega Mawiles lackluster Speed stat, common faster Pokemon that don't get OHKO'd by its Sucker Punch and can KO it back, such as Tapu Lele, Choice Band Kartana, Tapu Koko, Heatran, and Greninja are excellent at removing Mawile, should they get in safely.
**Fire-types**: Foes like Heatran, Volcarona, and Mega Charizard-Y are capable of threatening out Mawile with their STAB moves, but they have struggles switching in and are scared of boosted Sucker Punches.
**Contact Punishment**: Due to all of Mega Mawiles attacking moves being contact moves, Pokemon that punish contact, either through abilities like Ferrothorn, Zapdos, and Volcarona, or Items, like Skarmory, Tangrowth, and Landorus-T can wear down or status Mega Mawile over time and make it easier to revenge kill.
