Mega Mawile Core Team! [First 6th Gen Team]

Galvantula @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Thunder
- Volt Switch
- Sticky Web

This is my suicide lead that sets up Sticky Web to aid Mawile especially, and the rest of the team of course. He has a Focus Sash to ensure he will always get the Sticky Web in. Compoundeyes makes his accuracy much greater so Thunder is a considerably powerful, accurate weapon to use if he doesn't die right away. Volt Switch allows him to escape after setting up Sticky Web to help out later.

Mawile @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 132 HP / 252 Atk / 124 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rough Play
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance
- Fire Fang

I've always liked Mawile as a Pokemon, and when it came out with a beastly mega evolution I knew I wanted it on a team. When I realized how powerful it was in battle I knew it was the Pokemon for me. I'm very glad I decided to breed Fire Fang onto him, as it's helped me out substantially with foes that don't see it coming, mostly Magnezone and Ferrothorn. I'm not sure if I should keep Swords Dance on him or not though as I haven't used it much, I'm always too nervous to use it.

goodra.png

Goodra @ Assault Vest
Ability: Gooey
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Modest Nature
- Dragon Pulse
- Sludge Wave
- Fire Blast
- Thunderbolt

Goodra is my go-to switch-in for if I send in Mawile and the enemy sends out a fire type. Sporting extremely high special defense, he just basically absorbs Flamethrowers and Fire Blasts aimed at Mawile, so they are good teammates. Dragon Pulse is a strong neutral-coverage move that I find myself using often. It doesn't have the power Draco Meteor does, obviously, but I found I usually can never afford the lowering of special attack that it gives. Sludge Wave is for fairies. I don't use it much but when I do it has been very helpful and has given me a few surprise KOs.

sylveon_sprite_by_spritemaster44-d620vu4.png

Sylveon @ Big Root
Ability: Cute Charm
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpAtk
Bold Nature
- Draining Kiss
- Shadow Ball
- Heal Bell
- Wish

Sylveon is just too cute to not have on a team! I love her, and it's great she's very useful too. She absorbs special attacks much like Goodra, though not as much, but also acts as a cleric and wish passer for the team. She's especially helpful for if Mawile gets a burn. Draining Kiss can steal some very high amounts of health from the enemy, especially with the Big Root. I'm debating switching out Shadow Ball for Calm Mind, but I feel like she will be completely walled by steel and poison types then.

Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Atk
Bold Nature
- Avalanche
- Earthquake
- Waterfall
- Brick Break

When I was testing my team out (with just Goodra, Sylveon, and Mawile), I got completely annihilated by an Arcanine. I just couldn't get past him, and then I realized I had this problem with most fire types. So I decided a water type was the way to go for another teammate. I wanted a bulky one, but one that also packed a punch. I've always liked Swampert so I went for him. I was debating on a ChestoRest set, removing Brick Break, but I thought more coverage was important, especially because I don't have a fighting type on my team.

Tornadus-T @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hurricane
- Focus Blast
- U-turn
- Heat Wave

And finally, for the last member of my team I wanted a hard-hitting, super-fast special attacker. Thankfully Tornadus is just what I need! And it helps that U-turn works perfectly with his ability Regenerator, which helps him restore HP every time he is switched out into battle. I usually prefer fast, frail sweepers, but Tornadus is that and more, sporting a 80 in defense and 90 in special defense! He gets the job done with special-attacking and outspeeds a lot of threats.

This is my first full team I have made in a while so please rate honestly and help me out! Thanks everyone :)

Why is Swampert Bold nature if you are using 4 physical attacks? Try a Relaxed or Impish nature if you're using that set; I personally prefer Relaxed so you can go mixed with the likes of Scald and Ice Beam and still keep Earthquake. He can also run Stealth Rock since your team doesn't have it yet, or Roar/Toxic for more support. Something like this.

Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SDef
Relaxed Nature
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock/Toxic/Roar
- Ice Beam

The support move is your choice.

Tornadus wants a Timid or Naive nature to make him a bit faster. You're using U-Turn, so Naive might be preferable. You already have Focus Blast, so what is Heat Wave hitting that fighting/flying doesn't? Try Knock Off instead --- your team doesn't have it yet, and it can prove to be deadly in terms of crippling a large part of the enemy team.

It's not a bad team apart from this, but I feel like you need some more "oomph" to break walls that would hinder Mawile later in the game. You have a lot of special attacks but nothing that can dent physical walls. Maybe I'm thinking more hyper-offense (and your team is more bulky balanced offense), though.
