ORAS OU Mega Heracross OU (first team)

Hi everyone ^^ this is my first competitive team, I've been using it a couple hours now and i think it's not too bad so i would like to ask you if there's anything you would change since you are surely more expert than me. I really love Mega Heracross so please don't swap him (you can change its moves/evs/etc..) and you can completely change the other pnes. So here's the list with a quick explaination :D

Heracross-Mega @ Heracronite
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Pin Missile
- Close Combat
- Bullet Seed
- Rock Blast
He's the first physical sweeper and the mega. I choose him over other megas because i think he does a great job in OU breaking every sturdy and focus sash and doing so much unexpected damage! The ability didn't matter and i went for adamant nature because he's already fast enough when he mega evolves. Pin missle, bullet seed and rock blast are there because they work well with the ability and close combat has a great base damage.

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
He's a spinner and a special sweeper. I needed someone that could do a lot of special damage and remove hazards and starmie was the best option I could think of. He also has moves like Hydro Pump and Ice Beam which counter Fire types and Flying types that are strong against M-Heracross. Life Orb is there to do more damage, Natural Cure is there to remove poison or burn, Evs spread is standard special sweeper. I already said why i choose those moves, except thunderbolt which is there mainly because i didn't have any other electric move and this one has a better accuracy than thunder.

Espeon @ Light Clay
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Wish
- Toxic
It's a fast bulky support. It's there mainly to allow sweepers to do their job, light clay is obviously to make reflect and light screen last more, magic bounce is a really good ability that can keep stealth rocks/spikes away (which are a problem for my team). The EVs spread allows to put both reflect and light screen tanking a lot of attacks and usually going first (this pokemon is unexpectedly fast). Reflect and Light screen are there to make heracross more safe while he mega evolves, wish is to heal and to stall with toxic.

Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Blast
- Poison Jab
It's a second physical sweeper with such a high damage, speed and multiple possibilities. Choice scarf is really useful since i have no priority moves in this team and he would usually get out speeded, Rough skin is his best ability imho since the other ability would hurt my own pokemon and the EVs spread is standard physical sweeper with Naive nature because i needed some EV on SpA for Fire Blast. Earthquake is a powerful stab and it's there expecially for fire pokemon that would be a big problem for M-Heracross, Dragon Claw is for other dragons which are so popular in OU and i thought it would have been better than Outrage because I didn't really like to be locked in the fight. Fire Blast is the only and necessary fire type move in the team, it's a special attack but it has a high base damage. Finally Poison Jab is a powerful counter to fairy types.

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Whirlwind
- Brave Bird
- Roost
He's a physical tank, a pseudo-hazer and a spiker. He does so many things and that's why i usually start with him. Leftovers allow him to last longer in the fight, expecially if he has the reflect and the light screen from espeon. Sturdy is good because skarmory has many weaknesses and a kinda low special defense. EVs and nature are enough to make him a really good tank. Stealth Rock is much better than spikes in this case because it's super effective agains M-Heracross' counters (fire type, flying type...), whirlwind is my only way to vanish enemy team's stats modifications and works well with Stealth Rock. Brave Bird is a really powerful stab with high damage and finally Roost heals him back from Brave Bird's recoil.

Slurpuff @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Belly Drum
- Drain Punch
- Return
It's the third physical sweeper. I honestly didn't know what to put as my last pokemon but I knew I wanted a fairy type sweeper, so I decided to give this pokemon a try and he really convinced me! In some battles I didn't even need to use anyone else, when this cute beast menages to do his combo he's unstoppable! Sitrus Berry is obviously for recovering from Belly Drum and to trigger is ability: Unburden which makes him really fast. The EVs spread and nature is very classic. Belly Drum is core to trigger the combo: he gets 4x attack, gets his health back with Sitrus Berry and get faster thanks to his ability, then he can use Play Rough which is a killer stab, Return does a solid damage and with Drain Punch he's able to destroy iron type pokemons who counter him, getting back even more hp.

So, here it is my first team:) I'm sure you can help me! thanks a lot!! ^^

Hello Pongo on drugs , and welcome to Smogon!

Unfortunately, this RMT is currently not following the rules which can be found in the RMT Resource Thread; specifically, this thread violates rule #4, because you lack sufficient descriptions for each Pokemon on your team. As such, I am afraid that I will have to lock this thread for the time being. If you would like this thread to be reopened, feel free to PM me with your updated RMT, and I would be happy to reopen this thread for you. If you need help making an RMT up to the required standards, I recommend that you carefully read the RMT Resource Thread and check out other RMTs from the Team Showcase and RMT Archive for some examples.

Good luck with your team, and have a nice day!

EDIT: Reopened!

Hello Pongo, I see you decided to make a team around Mega-Heracross, Heracross is a really fun mon but you don't see it used too often anymore. I'm going to try to offer you some advice to improve the performance of your team.
First I would go with swords dance over bullet seed on Heracross, it really doesn't need bullet seed for much and swords dance just allows you to plow through bulkier teams with ease and I would consider a jolly nature over adamant, Heracross honestly doesn't need anymore attack to be effective and the speed is really beneficial. Next I would use analytic over natural cure on Starmie, while natural is nice because it alleviates statuses, offensive Starmie really appreciates being able to punish mons that switch out against it or mons that are faster than it. Next I would replace Espeon with a scarfed Hoopa, Espeon is honestly the least useful member on your team, while yes it can setup screens none of your team really needs them up to be effective. Next I would make Garchomp the defensive variant, this allows you to punish any physical attacker and it allows you to run spikes on your Skarmory, I also suggest making Skarmory the specially defensive version because your team lacks a good fairy check and specially defensive Skarm is an excellent one and spikes help your team pressure your opponents a lot. Lastly I would replace belly drum Slurpuff with belly drum Azumarill, while Slurpuff and Azu do the same thing I believe that Azu does a better job and has more chances to setup due to its water typing and its bulk, azu also has priority which is its main tool after belly druming. That's all the advice I can offer!

First, thanks so much for your help! :D second, I wanted to test your changes personally and this new team you showed me is so much better! Azumarill has the priority move this team needed, Hoopa is a very strong pokemon overall, Starmie is now usually able to attack first and this new set for skarmory does a great job with garchomp (i kept whirlwind). The only problem i can imagine is against big ground/water/grass tanks to whom i don't really have anything :/ (expecially pokemon like swamper or quagsire) but anyway i think your advices are a big emprovement to my team! THANKS! ^^
