Hi! This is one of the many teams I have created in pokebank OU but this one is by far both my favorite and most effective; however, this team does face some difficulties and I would liken to address them with all of you and change some things up in my teams to help my team's weaknesses.
Team Building Process
So it all started with Mega Absol... a very underused, very cool monster that I wanted to use to show off its potential. Other reasons I wanted to use Mega Absol is that magic bounce is a fantastic ability and simply because I hate Mega Gengar's guts. First off, on Mega Absol's move set, we have Swords Dance. If the enemy lets you SD up when any of their walls/stallers are dead or can't handle a +2 Mega Absol, it's just GG. Second, we have Sucker Punch. +2 stab Sucker Punches from Mega Absol Tear apart offensive teams and the priority makes it more favorable over night slash imo because it allows you to not get revenge killed by scarfers that would otherwise outspeed you. Play Rough takes out threatening fighting-types that want to hit you SE and eliminating the ever-present dragons. Fire Blast takes advantage of Mega Absol's very usable special attack and hits steel, grass, and ice types harder than anything else. And let's be honest, Magic bouncing a spore back onto a Smeargle is hilarious.
So then I realized that Mega Absol is weak to bugs such as Volcarona and ever-present fighting-types, so I realized that Tornadus-Therian would work very well as a partner for my precious Absol. LO Tornadus-Therian can deal tons of damage to the enemy team, provide momentum with U-turn, stall break with taunt, and constantly heal up his LO recoil and/or damage taken from SR with regenerator, granting it amazing survivability. Hurricane packs one hell of a punch on this guy, being resisted by few things and stinging even on some things that resist it. Focus Blast is also great for coverage, obliterating rock and ice types that normally want to fight Tornadus-T.
Then I remembered that a new threat to my Mega Absol has come with 6th generation: fairies. For that purpose, who better to use than the good 'ol bandzor. Banzor provides powerful revenge killing with CB boosted Technician STAB Bullet Punch and can sometimes sweep with it in very long games when everything is very worn down. Bandzor can also CB Technician boosted pursuit trap threatening psychic and newly formidable ghost-types, taking them out is something I'll always welcome. He also can deal tons of damage with Superpower, if need be, which has fantastic type coverage with Bullet Punch i.e. the potential Bullet Punch scares away fairies that resist Superpower and then you destroy whatever comes in to take the steel-type move with a CB 120 power fighting move. Very importantly, Banzor also provides ever-useful momentum with U-turn, being STAB and CB boosted, said U-turns also hit incredible hard; however, GameFreak did do a huge trololol on Scizor this gen by changing U-turn's BP to 70,so it isn't Technician boosted but it's still the strongest in OU coming from Bandzor. I think Scizor is a great pokemon for any team, in fact, I don't think I have a team without him.
Have Scizor on your team? What better teammate for Scizor than Rotom-Wash? Ahhhh, Rotom-Wash, where to start. Rotom-Wash's incredible bulk on both sides of the spectrum and great typing grant it fantastic walling potential. Rotom-Wash also features a great Special Attack stat, with which it can hit hard with Hydro Pump. Unfortunately, Rotom-Wash's only method of recovery is Pain Split but as unreliable as it may be, it still can work out well. You can run rest-chesto berry to compensate but that's a one-time deal and I don't like missing out on leftovers. Rotom-Wash's Ability to cripple foes with Will-O-Wisp is always welcome too. Rotom-Wash can also serve as a great pivot point with Volt-Switch too. Rotom-Wash's utility, damage, and survivability in a battle are down-right remarkable, not to mention its synergy in every way imaginable with Scizor.
At this point, most of my weaknesses are pretty much covered, so then I decided to include scarf Terrakion on my team. Scarf Terrakion is just such an amazing revenge killer and can even sweep, not to mention his type coverage is useful on almost any team. For his move set, First, I went with Stone Edge. Stone Edge is a very hard hitting STAB on Terrakion, scaring away any fire, flying or ice-type. Second, I chose Close Combat, which is a very reliably powerful STAB on Terrakion, being resisted by little and STAB 120 power, not many pokemon want to take this. Next, I decided to use Earthquake because EdgeQuake coverage is amazing and I can destroy that bastard, Mega Gengar, with this move. Lastly, I picked Iron Head to decimate fairies when they least expect it. Normally, when a fairy sees Terrakion they say, "SE Moon Blast! Yay!" but that isn't going to happen, is it?
Every team needs a rocker and I noticed that my team had no real answer for dragons, so I chose Mamoswine. Focus sash Mamoswine garuntees rocks and hits like a truck. First, Stealth Rocks are a must have for any offensive team. Second, STAB Earthquake from 130 base attack hurts like hellllllllllllllll. Third, STAB Icicle Crash from said attack crushes anything that doesn't resist it. Lastly, STAB Ice Shard from such high attack makes Mamoswine a most formidable dragon slayer. Mamoswine Is by far my favorite lead for offensive teams and I have him on every offensive team I make except if my team needs a spinner and already has ice coverage than I'd use Mold Breaker Excadrill.

The Team
Mega Absol
Absol @ Absolite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk
Naive Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Play Rough
- Fire Blast The big powerhouse of this team. A +2 Mega Absol is enough to say GG, instantly. Its dark typing can make it somewhat difficult to use things as set up fodder because the most common ghost and psychic types always carry focus miss and Aegislash carries Sacred Sword, most of the time, but that hindrance is a double edged sword i.e. not that much resists dark. What does resist dark, such as fighting-types, are obliterated by Play Rough and bug-types are incinerated by Fire Blast, with Mega Absol's brand new, very potent special attack. Fairies, however, give him trouble but that's not too much of a problem because my team carries the ultimate fairie exterminator. The goal before I try and sweep with Absol is to either soften up the physically frail fairies so my +2 boosts negates the resistance of the fairies and my raw power will eliminated the fairies from whatever HP they have left or just kill them off first to secure the sweep, not to mention fairies aren't too common. Fire blast is also to stop stallers in their tracks if they try and prevent you from using Sucker Punch and Fire blast hits Skarmory and Whimsicott harder than Sucker Punch at +0 attack and Trevenant won't let you use Sucker Punch, so Fire Blast decimates it.
Terrakion
Terrakion @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Close Combat
- Earthquake
- Iron HeadAhhh Choice Scarf Terrakion, where to start. This fearful beast scares off almost everything. Rock, fighting, and ground provides ridiculous type coverage combined with Terrakion's great attack and speed stat and a Choice Scarf, this pokemon is one of the best revenge killers and potential sweepers I've ever used. The only thing I like about Lando-T better than Terrakion is Intimidate and U-turn; otherwise, I think Terrakion is better. Let's not forget about Iron Head, when a fairie comes in against Terrakion, they think they're safe but nonono, Iron Head makes them regret everything they've ever done, annihilating them when they least expect it.
Scizor
Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- U-turnBandzor, Bandzor, Bandzor... easily one of my favorite pokemon in OU and in the new generation, say hello to the best fairie exterminator in OU. Scizor says, "Screw off" to any fairie he encounters and can pulverize anything they switch out into with Superpower or you can keep momentum with surprisingly and disgustingly powerful U-turns. Another incredible benefit of this pokemon is that it's one of the best pursuit trappers with Technician and CB boosted Pursuits coming from max investment base 130 attack. That'll OHK any frail ghost or psychic-type with ease and severely dent anything else. This can easily be used for revenge killing as well as Bullet Punch. There have even been times in long games when I've swept with Bullet Punch after Bullet Punch after Bullet Punch.
Tornadus-Therian
Tornadus-Therian (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 Atk
Hasty Nature
- Hurricane
- Focus Blast
- Taunt
- U-turn Tornadus-Therian is one of my favorite pokemon to use on a volt-turning team and it works great on this team as well. This pokemon is a great check to the fighting and bug-types and won't let Mega Absol SD and LO makes this pokemon hit like a truck too, with Hurricane and Focus Blast(Focus Miss) demolishes rock and ice-types that want to stop this pokemon from mass destruction. Tornadus-Therian can also keep momentum with U-turn and the great thing about this pokemon is its ability: Regenerator. It allows Tornadus-Therian to constantly heal any SR damage and LO recoil by simply switching into another pokemon or U-turning to maintain momentum, monumentally increasing Tornadus-Therian's longevity in a battle. Another great benefit of this set is serving as a great anti-lead with very fast taunts, stopping the notorious Smeargle in its tracks as well as every other common lead; however, dedicated anti-leads and anti-stallers such as Sableye can taunt you before you get the chance to taunt him but a Sableye would normally try and burn you first because they don't often expect you to have taunt, with which you may absorb the burn; as it doesn't hurt Tornadus too bad, with Regenerator and being a special attacker and, then you can taunt the Sableye, forcing a switch. Taunt is also extremely useful for anti-stall.
Rotom-Wash
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Pain Split
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp Next, in the team, is Rotom-Wash. Rotom-Wash is, perhaps, the best teammate for Scizor and offensive pivot. Its fantastic bulk combined with Pain Split and a great defensive types along with maintenance of your team's momentum with Volt Switch give it absurd survivability in a fight and hydro pump hits almost anything for serious damage. Rotom-Wash can also cripple the enemy's team with Will-O-Wisp. Rotom-Wash's typing is not only incredible but it has fantastic synergy with Scizor and it also lures out grass types such as Breloom or Venusaur for Tornadus-Therian to feast. Rotom-Wash's survivability and utility throughout any battle is unrivaled by almost everything.
Mamoswine
Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Icicle Crash
- Ice ShardLast, but not least is the most formidable Mamoswine. Personally, my favorite offensive lead in the OU metagame. Focus Sash Mamoswine guarantees Stealth Rocks when its service is irrelevant for the devastation of the enemy team; however, if the foe carry multiple pokemon, upon which this beast can feast, annihilation is garunteed. 130 base attack simultaneously performing alongside two great offensive STABs and, one being priority, Mamoswine can prove to be exceedingly detrimental to the enemy team. Situations, for which I would decide whether or not I would use Mamoswine as a death fodder for SR or for an offensive threat and using SR sometime along the way in the fight depends on one thing: Does he have threatening dragons or not? This reason is valid because my team's core has no real answer to dragons and Mamoswine is a very potent dragon slayer.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pain In The Asses For My Team:
1. Mega Khangaskan
I don't know a single person who doesn't despise going against this thing and it's existence in OU is even ruining a lot of the fun in showdown for me and its on at least 75% of every team that I face, so I find myself playing less and less and less because of it.
2. Rotom-Wash
I just really don't have a way to kill this thing.
3. Water types in general
I can't hit them SE except most water types in OU have secondary typing that allow me to hit them SE, such as Keldeo or Cloyster but Jellicent and Tentacruel are difficult to kill.
